LIL JOHN'S TREE SERVICE

He showed up early, spent the entire day working with his family. He was very professional and nice to work with. They did so much work and cut up and stacked all the wood for us. We could not have been happier and we ended up paying him more, even though he did not ask for the extra money. We were just so pleased with then job he did and his professionalism.

Although Scheduled to deliver at 5PM it was not until approximately 6:30 or 7:00PM that he stopped by with the first
truckload.  He and his wife unloaded the truck and returned to their wood yard. When they came back to my residence, they continued to unload the firewood and during our discussion he recalled me from the previous year (more on that later).  We discussed burning the wood for heat and during our conversation he mentioned his daughter in the truck and we talked a bit about the fence I had constructed and the vegetable garden in the back yard. Looking at the pile of wood in the driveway, is seemed a bit small but I wanted to first stack the wood before making any judgments. I paid the $350 we agreed upon, shook his hand, and told him I'd call him once the wood is stacked (in case there was a surplus or shortage).  He gave a weak handshake and seemed anxious to leave.
 
I stacked the wood on a 4' x 8' wood stand constructed the prior year to ensure that a properly stacked chord of wood can be measured and stored.  We discovered that only one chord (and some extra) had been delivered.  The wood delivered was unevenly cut, had mud, rot and seemed to have spent some time on the ground.  I immediately took a picture and sent him a text demanding a $175 refund. We had some contact during the following week where he was disrespectful and even elected not to show when scheduled as a follow-up. Now almost three weeks into this he has yet to respond to texts or calls.  I will be taking legal action.

Arrived several hours late for appointment after I took the day off to be home. Then couldn't finish the job that day, but asked me to leave check payable to his foreman, which I did. I returned from work the next day to find the check and tree gone, but other work not completed. Check was cashed immediately. Mr. Barr does not return phone calls. Overall a poor experience. My mistake for trusting this guy, but maybe I can stop others from making the same mistake.
