I am so very pleased with Service Experts. I recently had two of their employees in my home to work on my AC which stopped working and it was 95 degrees outside and rapidly got to 80 degrees inside and climbing. I do have a service contract with Service Experts and luckily they were able to come to my home the very next morning. Jared came and was very pleasant to talk to and went well beyond the call of duty helping me complete an application for whole house duct cleaning that I wanted to have done. Jared was very knowledgeable about the company and answered my questions before I even knew I wanted to ask them. He seemed to know exactly what I would want to know. I would particularly like to praise the young man that came with Jared. He was 20 year old Steven. This young man was very personable, courteous and extremely knowledgeable of this company as well. It was a absolute pleasure to talk Steven. His outlook on life is so refreshing and positive. Did I mention he was only 20, soon to be 21. If more young people had just 1/4 of his positive outlook, then this world would be headed in a much better direction. Service Experts should be extremely proud of both of these men, and particularly Steven who has the customer service and maturity level of someone much older. I highly recommend Service Experts.

We came back from abroad after 2 months on 07/13/2023, while we were out of state, we kept our HVAC on .We found it's hot inside of our house . I checked the thermostat , it was showing 87 and the air flow was not cool.I called Expert service earlier for routine check up of my HVAC so i called them in the morning (07/14/23) . I was told they will charge me for an emergency visit , diagnostic fee would be extra etc ( Please refer to Sarah F 1 star review, Service experts taking advantage of people ) I agree especially with seniors like us ( I am 77 years of age). I will tell you how? Mr David and another guy came to check my HVAC, I asked them to check that my thermostat may have been messed up by my grandson/daughter. or check the duct line or filter , they were not interested to check. They opened my HVAC units and started telling me capacitor gone, converter may have gone. Other gentlemen since came were interested in changing parts and bill me a good amount knowing that i don't have knowledge of HVAC. I was told now I need to change the fan also . I told them It's under 10 years warranty and my unit is 5/7 years old. He took my email Id and told me he will send me an estimate and he will get parts by Monday so I need to wait till Monday ( Emergency charges?). I did not get any estimate on Friday 14th so I sent a message to 5409924813 to email me an estimate. I did not get any text message or email till date for the bill or estimate. Mr Micheal ( different guy) came on Monday 07/17/2023 with parts , he was in a hurry as i had to tell him to put everything back. After what he did ( only he knows) he asked me to pay $629,00 , after checking i was told to pay $618.00 (Did not show me bill ) .When I told him that on Friday I was given an estimate around $550.00 why are you asking me to pay more?. He did something on his computer and asked me to pay $544.65.I asked for the invoice ,once again same story, I was told they will email me an invoice . In good faith I paid $544.65 with my credit card but till date I have yet to receive a bill to know how they charged me ( my correct charges) ? . Please suggest to whom we can launch a complaint not provided the bill and estimate? Should I report (dispute) to my credit card company or BBB ? I was not expecting such type of worst service from Service experts as seeing fake good reviews on their website i called them. Mukesh Pandya

So long story first. There is no way this company has 4.9 out of 5 reviews. Go To the BBB of Southwest Virginia and you will see all reviews are channeled through to the corporate location in Texas. Overall rating 3.37/5. This is because they take advantage of people who need immediate services. To the point. They quoted me $39,000.oo, yes thirty-nine-thousand dollars to replace two furnaces and two air/heat pumps. And almost $3000.oo, yes three thousand , to replace a 50 gallon hot water heater. The four other companies quoted me no more than $22,000, twenty-two thousand, to replace the two furnaces and two air/heat pumps. And no more than $12,000 to remove and replace out 50 gallon water heater. This company wanted to up-size my heat pump/air unit to 3 tons each, with variable speeds. My duct work could not handle that (it is built for two, 2.5 ton units). So I would have had to get the duct work enlarged and replaced, after, and only afte,r the units were installed...so more money! When we originally agreed (shame on us), we THOUGHT we were signing a NO INTEREST contract for 12 months same as cash. The representative was standing there telling us about the contract and asking if we agree. WE DID NOT ACTUALLY GET TO READ THE CONTRACT. Then she signed my husbands name Via DocuSign. When we received the contract via email, 12 hours later, we realized it was a "deferred interest", NOT "no interest" contract. When we informed the representatives we were told " My app only produces the deferred interest contract." Then we contacted the finance company. Within 2 days our contract got canceled. Further, once you have them "DocuSign" your name, the written contract actually only has 2 options to cancel within 3 (yes three) business days. These printed options are via "telegram" or "mail. There is no telegram anymore and you will have to overnight a cancel agreement. We called, (and thank God we did) and our contract was canceled. We hired another company.

CON ARTISTS!!!! I gave them 1 star because 0 or NEGATIVE 5 wasn’t an option. The level of fraud and deception going on with these people is just UNREAL and I cannot in good conscience let this go without warning good hardworking people!!! Two days ago, I scheduled an appointment online and wrote in the comments that I was looking to weatherize my home and install some more insulation in the attic. I got a call that evening from a lady who was very nice and confirmed I was looking to add insulation in the attic then confirmed the appointment for the next day! WOW, I thought, how wonderful. NO! When the technician arrived, he said he was here to service the unit and said they don’t even do insulation. $%(*)$# That should have been my first clue. But, I thought, he was already here so I gave the go-ahead to check over and service the heat pump. Before he started working, he said that it was company policy to have another person drop by “for safety reasons and to make sure they were doing their work correctly” so I should expect another “technician” (who I”ll refer to as The Closer) sometime while he was there. He was in the attic a full 2 minutes before coming down VERY concerned that I have biological microorganisms growing in my blower and said he needed to show me. While showing the biological growth, he told me a UV light would be wasting my money because “once it’s there, a light won’t fix it” and he didn’t want to sell me something he knew wouldn’t work. But he said he would clean it the best he could and oh btw, the new systems come with UV. (Now I find this funny because after reading several reviews on here they said that’s exactly what they were sold to fix the problem without buying a whole new system.) Cue “The Closer” and now this instantly becomes a VERY pressured sales pitch to sign on with their Home Advantage Program. They should call it the Take Advantage Program because that’s what it is. The Closer says I have a very old system that is antiquated (2008) and not worth saving and given the organisms living in the attic, oil leaking and how old the system was, I should sign up ASAP. The basics of the New Advantage Program is that for the low, low price of only $140-$230/month for the next 8 years they would take care of everything. Can you hear my eyes rolling? That’s a total of $13,440-$22,080!! I just went from wanting to see if I could add some insulation to make my home a little more energy efficient to spending at minimum 13k!!??? !?! When it was all said and done, here’s what the technician’s note says, “Checked entire system. Cleaned biological growth growing in indoor unit. Found indoor coil rusted and blower leaking oil. Found system is low on refrigerant and condenser fan motor leaking oil. System runs on r22 refrigerant which is phased out. System is 12 years old. Rec. upgrading system. Matt talked with customer about upgrade options.” That was yesterday. Well today I called my buddy who does HVAC and asked him to come over and look at what I have going on. To be fair, I didn’t tell him anything they had said just that I wanted a second opinion before making a big purchase. I can honestly say I know nothing about HVAC, but I do know what “cleaned” looks like, and this ain’t it! (see pics 1-5) Then my buddy went outside to find NO OIL on the motor (see pics 6-7) Also, my friend said that he couldn’t properly check the refrigerant because it’s under 60F with “no heat load” in the house and that it is actually not recommended by any manufacturer as an accurate environment to measure the refrigerant. Needless to say, I want my $70 back for the “service call” and I want my time back I spent being lied to. To think I just paid them $70 to come into my home and try to con me and to act like they are doing me a favor, its just downright despicable!! DO NOT CALL - it’s definitely a scheme to get into your house and sell you something you don’t need at top dollar! I hope this saves at least 1 person the headache and worry they caused me.

The install seemed to go well. The contract was written to reflect a 10 yr warranty on the A/C compressor -10yr warranty on A/C parts, etc, etc.

However, within a year the TXV valve went bad. This was replaced. Also in 2009 the indoor coil had problems. This was fixed under warranty. Later on the thermostat went bad and was replaced under warranty. We were told by another company that the wiring installed by Service Experts may have caused a short and they made changes.

The year is now 2014. We now have another broken TXV valve. We called Service Experts and explained the problem. I was told we would have to pay 99.00 for a service call. This was upsetting since the company offered us a 10 year warranty. Why should I pay 99.00 for something covered under warranty?

Lennox was contacted and they were not helpful at all. We were advised the part was only covered for 5 years. I screamed at Lennox District Manager about having a lemon for a unit, but it didn't phase him nor Lennox Corporate office. I have never had a unit have this many problems.

Service Experts misrepresented the factory warranty and we don't know what we are going to do at this point.

UPDATE August 15th, 2014.

In following the advise under the "provider response" I sent an email to the address of Patty Gilmore on July 11th, 2014. To this date I have never heard a thing from them about the "lemon" of an air conditioner they installed. I gave them a month to respond. I still have a saved copy of the email I sent to her email. Apparently, 100% satisfaction is something done 50% of the time?

To make a long story short over the course of the year warranty, I had to call for service 7 times. The last time, I specifically asked for a manager to come to my house, because I was completely unsatisfied with their product. The regional manager did come to my house and found the last problem. After he fixed it, I expressed my dissatisfaction and told him the only way I could be satisfied is if he gave me another year of FREE maintenance, since the first year had many service calls. He gave me the ADDITIONAL YEAR and sent a letter to my home stating I had a free year. That was April, 2013 and I have had no problems since his visit to my home. SO EVENT THOUGH THIS STARTS OFF NEGATIVE, it ends positive because these folks made the problem right which so far has regained my confidence in LENNOX and SERVICE EXPERTS. They do what they say and ALL the technicians and the manager were extremely friendly, courteous and respectful of my home and furnishings.

I'll never do business with them again. They came in and said that they had to replace something and we had somebody else come in and he said that there was not one thing wrong with it and we have never done business with them again. We had to pay them for coming out and giving us bad information and trying to cheat us. I would not recommend them.

The experience was fine. They did what they said they were going to and when they were going to do it. The only problem I had was after this project was done they called wanting to look at my AC unit and I told them no.  I was not impressed with the job being doine and them then calling me after the fact. I liked the work they did.

The weather turned cold again in April 2012 , and my heat pump no longer blew warm air when I turned it back on. I looked around on Angie's list for someone to service it and settled on Service Experts. It's been a while since I had the service done, but I recall that they were able to schedule me an appointment for one or two days from when I called them. The service technician was prompt and friendly. He found the causes of my problem quickly. I had a capacitor that needed changing, and I needed a freon recharge. Looking back at my receipt, this one-time service and repair would have cost $242.00 for everything. The service tech talked me into a 1 year service agreement for $169.00 that included some discounts on the work performed that day as well as an additional maintenance appointment later in the year. It seemed like a good value, and I don't regret the choice. They called me at the beginning of winter to schedule the maintenance appointment, which was a good thing as I had entirely forgotten about it. My heat pump has performed admirably all winter. Overall, I'm happy with the work and will be renewing my service contract for another year.

Was under contract with this vendor. Unit is less than 6 years old.  For the past 2 years every time then came out, 2 times a year for routine health check on the unit them always find something wrong even though the unit always appears to be working fine. The costs for replacing parts always seems to be approximately $600-$1,000.  When we refuse to have the work completed and the next service rep comes out then don't even make mention of what the last rep found wrong, and identifies something else. The last time they said they needed to upgrade the system to prevent mold in the attic.  After I had the work completed and check with neighbors I found out that no one had heard of this. I called in another company for their opinion and they did not recommend the work that I had completed was necessary.  Using this company is nothing more than a money pit.
