Reynolds Siding Inc

I used this company to replace my exterior doors, storm doors, gutters, and soffit/window trim. I am so pleased with the quality of work done and the professionalism of the crew. I will definitely use this company again.

I thought it went OK until the past fall when we got 19 inches of rain in a few days, and my upstairs closet roof flooded because of this company's negligence and fraud.  They did not check my roof for any leaks, and for the $750 they DID NOT replace my flashing.  They only cut and put new flashing over my old flashing and then caulked around that.  There was a hole in the roof under the old flashing, that if the flashing had been removed before the new flashing was put up, as it was supposed to be done, would have been discovered. They did not do the repair that we paid them to do, and only cosmetically made it APPEAR to have been done. Since I could not climb on the roof, I assumed that this was a reputable company, and that the repair was done in what is the industry standard, which is to remove all old flashing before putting new flashing up, but I was wrong they are not a reputable company, and they just did a "quick" fix.  I believe this was not only negligence, but also fraud.  Since we had not had any large amount of rain for days for a long time, the insulation and plasterboard had been absorbing the moisture and drying out on hot days during the summer, so I did not realize that the repair had not been done the way it was presented to me, and the way it should have been done. In meantime the hole that he should have discovered if the job had done in the correct manner, slowly got bigger and bigger.  This past fall when we saw significant rain over a few days, it finally reached the tipping point and the insulation and plasterboard could no longer absorb the moisture and my ceiling flooded. When I had Reynolds come back out to see what was going on, they said the flashing was "fine" and that I had cracks in the mortar in my chimney.  They then said they would go up there and fix it and "caulk" them for an additional $100, which we paid them to do.  When it rained again, we still had more water in our closet and ceiling.  We finally called another roofer who went on our roof  and said "it has to be the flashing" and he took the flashing that Reynolds put up off, and found all the old flashing under it and a large hole in the roof under the old flashing which should have been discovered by Reynolds two years earlier when they were supposed to REPLACE the flashing.  The new roofer also said that the pipe boots that Reynolds installed were the wrong size, that they were too big and were filling up with water when it rained and disbursing this water under our shingles.  When I called Reynolds to discuss all of this with them the owner said "too bad" the one year warranty was up. I even emailed him photos of old flashing under the "new" flashing they installed and a photo of the hole in the roof beside the chimney that was under the old flashing.  I was again informed the warranty was up.  I didn't realize negligence and fraud had a warranty time limit, but apparently at Reynolds it does.  PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY regardless of your needs. I think they are doing more siding and windows now, and less roofing (wonder why?).  I assume that no matter what they are doing, it will be shoddy work that they will not stand behind.  There are too many reputable people that do this type of work to go with this company. RUN from this company.
