Hamilton was prompt, punctual, very professional. He explained everything to me in the detail that I needed. I'm the type of person that wants as much information as possible about home projects and I ask numerous questions. He was patient with that and answered all of my questions, explained everything before he did it. He used the brand of plumbing that I asked for and finished the job in the time specified. The only thing I was not happy with was that he pieced two segments of PEX under one of the bathroom sinks instead of using just one longer piece of pipe which would have meant just one connection. By the time I realized that it was too late to fix it as the main water pipe under the house was already in place. That was something that I could have communicated better to him before the job was done so cannot really complain too much on that.
Hamilton's price was significantly less than other large plumbing companies would charge, yet more than two times higher than some other contractors I got estimates from . I chose Hamilton anyway because of his professional demeanor, his obvious knowledge of the subject, the fact that he is a certified master plumber, his business is local to this area, and he seemed very thorough when coming up w the estimate. He seems to enjoy his work, and I could tell he was in demand (a lot of other jobs in his schedule). I thought that the other low-estimates might be using substandard materials or might have less experience.
Before the work was done I was concerned about the damage to the drywall for access to the plumbing. He gave me the option of re-patching with drywall afterward or placing discreet plastic access covers. I chose the plastic covers just in case of need to work on bathroom shower plumbing in the future. I was very pleasantly surprised that the openings in the drywall were only about 8"x11" and the doors, once painted blend in very nicely w the rest of the wall and are barely noticeable. The other areas where he opened up the drywall are repatched very nicely.
A year later the outdoor sill-c*** hose bib faucets were leaking a lot and after a few months, I called him to repair it. He fixed it right away (replaced o rings) and charged customary plumber fee for the repair.
Part of the cost I paid for the new plumbing job was for the county "inspection" which was scheduled to take place after the job was done however the county inspector just briefly looked underneath the sinks, and seemed completely un-interested in looking at the plumbing at all- even when I tried to show him, and never entered the crawlspace to view it. I figured this is just the way the county does things.
Overall I'm very pleased with Hamilton's work. Its now 2 and a half years later and plumbing is still working well. I would definitely use him in the future if needed and definitely recommend him to others.
