Arganica Farm Club

I joined Arganica through a Livingsocial coupon and received one delivery of food. It was fine, but their "mixed produce" box is a random assortment of local and non-local, possibly organic (not all of it was marked, but that's the claim), produce.  The mixed produce box had one potato, two sweet potatoes, greens, carrots, two kiwi, two oranges, and blueberries (the berries were from Chile, the other fruit was unlabeled). The food, which was fine but not worth paying their full price for unless one was completely unable to get to a grocery that has any organic food.  

Having signed up for a one-month trial via a Livingsocial offer, I did not expect to be renewed, but I was. Their customer service is terrible and they make quitting very difficult.  Most emails take one or two full business days to get a reply and then they are unhelpful.  For example, I was told that cancellation requests had to come via the phone and was told "Unfortunately we are unable to process cancellation requests via email, due to technical reasons."  Of course, when I called there was no answer and the voicemail box was full. I sent another email and was told to call back later when the phones were fixed. I did eventually get through and was able to cancel fairly quickly but received no confirmation. When I emailed asking for such, I also asked what "technical reasons" required a call to cancel, and was told "It is not that there was a technical issue of cancelling via email, but it was that we  were having technical issues with our phones due to our offices moving," so the earlier respondent was lying or ignorant.  I believe that they make cancelling so difficult because they want to keep charging the monthly fee (which they will only refund if you call within five days of the billing date).

I found Arganica Farm Club through Angie's List. We are delighted with them and we love them. Their service and the quality of the food are extraordinary. In our experience, they have delivered on time and delivered exactly what we have ordered. The quality of the products we have ordered has met or exceeded our expectations. There have been couple of times when we didn’t receive something that we had ordered and I e-mailed them and let them know that it was included in the delivery and they immediately credited my account. The sea food that they provide has been the best I have been able to get in the Mid Atlantic Region. Their service has been top notch. This is a premium service with premium products and their service and responsiveness has been consistently at that level of premium pricing. I would absolutely use their service in the future.
