After moving into my 40 year old home in the spring, I quickly identified that my irrigation system was outdated and not working properly. Brooks Irrigation and Lighting was recommended by a friend. Appointment was easy to schedule. During the appointment, the technician and I discussed options and reviewed my watering needs. Technician was professional offering suggestions to maximize benefits of the irrigation system.
Complete estimate was provided, from that point forward no additional work was needed on my part. Brooks Irrigation handled permits, Miss Utility, trenching, certified back flow testing etc. Work began within a week of accepting the estimate. Once the installation was complete the service technician did a walk thru to ensure we were satisfied and also reviewed the controller settings.
After two weeks I recognized a leak in the yard, a service technicial was there the same day to repair a faulty fitting. My system was back up and running quickly. Of course without a fee as parts were under warranty
I was so pleased with the process, that I have contracted with Brooks Irrigation to provide my spring start-up and fall winterizations.
Having gone through a full season with the company and am considering them for my lighting needs.

FANTASTIC!!!. THE OWNER SUPERVISED THE ENTIRE JOB FROM START TO FINISH. HIS TEAM WAS VERY COURTEOUS AND PAYED ATTENTION TO EVERY DETAIL AND QUESTION WE HAD. THE SYSTEM WORKS PERFECTLY AND IS EXACTLY AS WE EXPECTED. WE LOOKED AT SEVERAL OTHER COMPANIES AND MR. BROOKS WAS THE OBVIOUS CHOICE. 1. Brooks did not accept responsibility for fixing the leak that their repairman caused.
2. Grossly overcharged ($225) for fastening three clamps on the sprinkler line. Claimed that the extra charge was for "travel time".
3. Came to do the repairs during a time when I was not home. I had advised them that I was going out of town and to call first, which they did not.
4. Then they had the gall to issue a separate invoice for $150 for services they never performed!! Fraud??
5. Took me to court for the outstanding balance (including the fictional $150) when I refused to pay more than $100.
I noted from the court records I obtained online that there are currently six pending cases brought by Brooks Irrigation. Apparently others are not thrilled with the obscene overcharging.
My recommendation is to stay away from this company unless you have plenty of money to throw away or an overwhelming urge to visit the Hanover County, VA, courthouse!

"The invoice to this customer for the amount of $225 was for a Spring Service which in this case included travel time 1 way as he lived 65 miles from our office. We communicated to him prior to our visits that travel time would be charged due to the distance from our office. This was agreed upon prior to our arrival. He was upset about paying for travel time. The other invoice for $150 was for a winterization of his system that also included travel time. All repairs were completed and we did perform the work as stated. This customer refused to pay his invoice as agreed upon resulting in us taking him to court. He had spoken to the owner of the company and even mentioned the particular technician's name that performed the work (that he claims we never did). We value our customers and strive to make their experience pleasant."
