Oct. 2010 I signed a contract and paid a $6300 deposit with work promised to start within three weeks.
Each time I talked to him he would tell me I was next on his agenda, he'd be over soon, one more job scheduled ahead of me...
Six months after making the deposit he shows up to install the door.  I purchased a door and had Ralph install it.  The installation seemed to go nicely, at the time.  He installed the door and said he would be back the following week to caulk, seal and do the trim work inside and out.  I foolishly paid him an additional $350 for the door install.  He never came back.  Yet I continued to believe him when he said he would be coming soon.  The door is not trimmed and the 2x6 it is sitting on is warping upward so it holds water and directs it toward the house.
Oct. 2011 I emailed him and asked for my deposit back.  He said he was out of town working on a job and when he returned he would talk to the warehouse to see if they would agree to sell "my" shingles to someone else and return my money...  Obviously I do not have $6300 worth of "special order" shingles sitting in a warehouse somewhere.  They are a stock color at the local Lowes and 84.
He has stopped contact and is not returning my deposit.
Do not give him money.
He is not licensed.
I would not recommend him to anyone.

See above, we will not be using him again.

Ralph is great to deal with, although pin him down to a date and time. When we first hired him, he was punctual, but the more he did for us, the more lax he got with getting to us when he said he would. I don't think this problem would have started if we weren't flexible moving forward. He does great work, at a very reasonable price.

It went great. He had it done very fast, actually before we went on our honeymoon.

He did a great job. Very personal guy. He and another guy working with him did a great job. We had an issue with it leaking over the winter and he came and fixed it that day.
