Lee's Hardwood Floors

The work performed was well below standard quality. Did not sand floor smooth after installation (poor job doing that) and used inferior coatings. Do not hire him to do any work if you want a nice floor.

Every facet of the job was completed very professionally. It was a quick, efficient job, at a price that astouded us. Our initial estimate of 700 sq. ft was so low, that we wound up doubling the job size! We were highly pleased at the job they performed for us! Will always recommend them.

They did a beautiful professional job. There was no mess left behind only beautiful floors.

Lee did an outstanding job on our house. I could not be any happier on how our hardwood floor turned out. He gave us an estimate that was well below others. His team showed up early and completed the job before the scheduled date. The stain and wood that he used really enlivened our house. He refinished our kitchen floor to match the new wood he laid down for the contiguous family room and I could not tell the difference afterwards. Lee was very responsive, pleasant to deal with, and his team was professional. I have already recommended him to some of my colleagues.

Off to a rocky start when they did not have the foresight to think about getting in and out of a residence with the snow. Had to reschedule. But my real gripe is the quality of sanding on my floors. They had to have used a rough paper to sand because every time I look at them I found more big sand circles and can see the deep grooves easily. I just get madder and madder. I have even taken pictures. Not to mention this is not a long lasting high gloss finish. In fact, I guess my bad is that I did not ask what finish they used and he never offered or shared or consulted with me. I am so not happy with my floors and really Angry I may have to have them redone. Everyone who has come by has wrinkled their nose and asked who did them. I feel like I should ask for my money back to be honest. They are just poorly done. That is all. And I gave pictures to prove it. Not to mention they only did the top steps and not the board facing out from the steps so I still have to redo those the right way. I would highly advise to not choose this company if you want long lasting redone floors. Not to mention they left bags of sawdust too heavy for me to pick up in my yard to throw away and sawdust all over my plants and in my flowerbeds and on my steps. They did not clean up after themselves and my walls continue to be dusty. They do not vaccuum area before they refinish. Another no no.

Mr. Lee was wonderful to work with from the first moment we spoke.  Another firm had refinished the floors in our house and the work was not professionally done -- there were areas showing scratches, marks and bad stains that they said could not be resolved. So disappointed, we searched for another contractor. When we contacted Mr. Lee he was extremly responsive and helpful.  He came out to give us an estimate that very same day and the price was very reasonable.  He was so helpful in squeezing us into their hectic schedule that week.  Within a couple of days Mr. Lee and his team had done an amazing job!  The stains and marks were gone and the overall finish of the floors looked absolutely BEAUTIFUL!  It was just amazing the difference.  We highly recommend Lee's Hardwood Floors - they are very professional, thorough, courteous and did fantastic work for us.

I was referred to Lee's Hardwood Floors by another Angie's List contractor, Jeff Phillips of Might Dad Flooring (great guy). Jeff doesn't refinish hardwood floors, so he suggested Lee for that part of the project at my mom's house. I don't live in Roanoke, and wasn't there when the work was done, so I can't comment on the responsiveness or punctuality, but there weren't any significant hold-ups. Some small holes from a Stair-Lift had to be filled, and one stain fixed ... I think he replaced a few pieces there. It really looks great, and the price was very reasonable. There were no surprises or problems. I'd use Lee's again anytime. 

They started the job promptly, however, I wasn't told that Mr. Lee had gone out of town and would not be overseeing the work. They finished quickly but when I showed the guy in charge the irregularity in the color of the stain, he said "oh, not right, we will do again". So they resanded, stained and polyurethaned without taking up the trim(he had told me they would remove the trim). Thus, there was pooled stain at the edge and the groove that didn't get sanded. They came back, sanded, stained and poly'ed again. Mr. Lee did the last steps himself, as well as putting on new molding strips. The workers spashed stain and poly on my walls in many places and especially on the woodwork on my doors throughout. I paid the full amount, but shouldn't have. The emotional upset of dealing with this controversy for the whole month of July, having to repeatedly tell them it was unsatisfactory, I am aware of others who have had problems with them since. I'm scared for the future because they've been sanded as many times as they can be sanded. I left Mr. Lee a message later, because I had a question and I also wanted to tell him his guys had left a tool and a shirt, but he didn't return the call.

They replaced some of the wood and it was a perfect match! They did a great job, the floor looks amazing and the price was awesome.

Owner answers cell phone every time called. Finished job ahead of schedule. Tied in New to existing floors-ask for this not that much extra. Don't forget to change your hvac filters and pad your furniture feet prior to using on your new floors.

They were incredibly impressive in their ability to do the work. They are quick, show up on time, and they just do an awesome job on the floors. They matched the kitchen floor to the other flooring in my home which was from the 1960's. The price for the quality was outstanding and cannot be beat.

It's a medium-sized company. They were just great. They were always on time and always did exactly what they said they would. It looks absolutely gorgeous. They always gave us an estimate right on the spot and told us when they would start and when they would finish.
