MIke is a meticulous craftsman. He listened to what we wanted and provided great input for our considerations. Additionally, each time he removes his shoes and ensured all work areas remained clean. I was very nervous about adding bamboo flooring to our home, but it turned out beautifully. I highly recommend Ground Floor Solutions.

Mike Buehring (the owner/operator of Ground Floor Solutions) promptly came to our house for a free estimate.  His was our third estimate and was reasonably priced but it was his overall understanding of hardwoods and ability to explain how he would address our problem areas that ultimately led us to go with him- that and his commitment to keeping the mess minimum as he only uses a sander which has a built-in vacuum.  (At the end of the resurfacing, I only had to lightly dust but overall couldn't have been happier with the minimal dirt.)   He had a range of options for stains and sealer and explained the pros and cons of each and helped us make the decision.  He was flexible with scheduling even when we requested to reschedule to a sooner date and the entire job (start to finish) was completed in 6 days as he predicted.  He mostly worked alone- coming on average around 8:30AM and staying until 6 PM.  We were living in the basement during this process and could hear the work being performed.  He was quiet and respectful of our things, did not play loud music, and gave us a daily update- particularly what times in the evening we could walk on the floors with socks.  Mike is very particular and filled in wood pits/holes and leveled out an area which had been minimally water damaged.  He is conscientious of his work and, no matter how hard I've looked, I have found only outstanding results.  On the last day, he gave clear instructions on how to care for the floors and even helped me move my heavy stove back in place.  And now we have the most beautiful, smooth floors we've ever seen!
A year after Mike resurfaced our hardwoods (which still look as nice as the day he finished), one of those plug-in oil-based air freshners spilled onto the floor and somewhat dried before we noticed it.  I tried to clean it up on my own but seemed to be taking off the finish so I called Mike (on a Saturday).  He offered to come the next business day and had to lightly sand and reapply the finish (a couple of coats requiring him to come back throughout the day because of the drying time)... all for $100.  And the finished result is superior- can't tell where the accident had been.
Hands down, if we ever had another flooring issue, we'd call Mike... too bad he doesn't build whole houses!
