The job lingered on well past completion date. The areas that needed new hardwood were unacceptable. The patches were plainly visible because of the exact repeating pattern. The new kitchen areas flexed because he cut off the tongues of several boards and not securely fasten to the sub-floor. All in all ended redoing the entire job a year later.

The owner of this company, Joe Russo is FANTASTIC!  First of all, he was precisely on time for every appointment.  When he said he would be at my house at 10 o'clock, he was in my driveway at exactly that time.  He walked in and immediately told me so much information about my floor such as type of wood, finish, etc. showing he clearly knows his profession very well.  My floor was extremely challenging as it was originally two separate rooms and when the existing floor was removed there were holes, concrete patches and two different types of wood.  Other contractor were daunted by the challenges, but not Joe. He used his skill and artist eye and created this beautiful inlay in my floor which not only repaired the holes but it also joined the contrasting wood varieties perfectly as if it was originally designed that way.  He kept me informed and asked my opinion during the entire process.  He even helped move the heavy appliances (refrigerator, oven).  Everything was kept clean and neat disposing of the trash in the can outside instead of leaving it for me to clean up.  He even vacuumed my living room carpet before he left on the last day.  I feel so fortunate to have found this contractor.  My floor now looks gorgeous!!!   He's by far the best contractor I have ever worked with and I can't wait to have him refinish the rest of the floors in my house.

Joe Russo was recommended to us by another service. Many of the other hardwood refinishers would not take our job because it was "too small"....Joe was courteous, explaining everything and offer options. Started the job on time and finished on time. Also gave us an amazing quote for refinishing our upstairs rooms. Great do to business with a small business that really caters to his clients needs :)

Had second story floors done by Tran's. Ok job, done in timely manner, but not to our specifications. Went with Joe Russo's Custom Hardwood, 3rd gen.! Stressed from initial contact/estimate that work would need to be completed during Spring Break week. Joe stated he had a small job scheduled that week, but could get a 'second crew' to work our house. Stated he may be able to start  Monday afternoon or Tuesday for sure. Initally said job could be done in three days, but with staining and recommended repair, he would need two additional days. Now says staining needs only a couple hours to dry and then can coat with poly to follow with two hours dry time then recoat. Mentioned to Joe that I thought manufacturer's recomended dry time was a little longer that that. To which he replied, "Oh they always exagerate those times to be on the safe side." Ah dude this is my house!  It is now Friday they are still sanding. Work ethic? After stressing to Joe that work needed to be completed by end of week (which he assured it would, with a possibilty of touch up on Saturday) all available staff show up at 10:30 to "get right on it". There was no second crew, all employees are a total of three including Joe. Mentioned the fact that it is Friday with sanding still needing to be done, Joe then 'remined' me that the job would take 5-7 business days!  All in all, not recomended. If you go with him, put completion date in contract with reduction of payment for each day past. Also, read his contract, it tries to void all consumer rights.
