Crowe has expanded into a general contractor business. I needed a "one stop shop" for all our needs to prepare our home for sale. The work in the basement was quite extensive as the entire ceiling needed to be replaced after a leak in the 30' main kitchen drain line. Patching was not an option as the hole was quite large and the ceiling was popcorn. They also installed additional can lights while the ceiling was open. They suggested and I approved the installation of crown molding, which makes the room look 'done'. Chris (owner) was very reasonable on pricing and I could not speak higher of his lead man, Brandon. The other gentlemen on the crew were also professional, courteous and easy to get along with.
After the ceiling was finished, I called them back for a second job to help get other areas of the house ready that I could not handle alone. This included painting the rest of a very tall interior stairwell, all kitchen and bathroom cabinets (this required extensive sanding and 7 coats of paint), painting of the deck and the roof soffits. Again, all of the crew were professional, courteous and easy to get along with and the price was right.
After the house sold and the home inspection revealed repairs, I returned to Crowe. This time, the tub stopper, door jamb, gutters and stair post needed repair.
The fact that they are a 'one stop shop' saved me the frustration of dealing with the scheduling and payment of multiple contractors. I spent about $5500 for all of the work, not including the paint. I suspect I would have paid 2-3 times that for individual contractors. I highly recommend them.

It was a horrible experience.  The work was not done correctly on the first occasion which resulted in an above ground pipe being located within our driveway area and a water line that was severed being repaired with the wrong size of hose which leaked.   As a result, we paid more to correct their mistakes (in hind sight, we should have refused).  In addition, the power line to our water well was severed during the second occasion and although we were assured that we would be reimbursed for the repair work which we incurred that has never happened.
Eventually, we went to small claims court (3 appearances).  However, we learned during the process that the company was in two different names and had filed for bankruptcy.  We did visit the Better Business office in Roanoke after we had filed a warrant in debt (civil claim) in the General District Court (Roanoke County) and contacted the U.S> Bankruptcy Court on the suggestion of the person with the Better Business office. The judge of the General District Court said there was nothing else we could do.
Response from Crowe Services
"These home owners are sadly mistaken. The work they are referring to was done by Crowe Inc. and not by Crowe Services. They even tried taking us to court and the judge thru the case out and told them they were going after the wrong company. It's sad that people just try to trash other companies and don't even know what there talking about. Some people just have no clue. We strive to always do quality work and look out for our clients. These people are just barking up the wrong tree. Please check out all your information before trying to trash someones business. Thanks and have a blessed day."

We originally contacted Crowe services after having several other contractors attempt to 'find' our septic tank. They had to do a lot of work to accomplish the task, but always advised us what they needed to try next and provided good estimates. We will be their customer from now on.

They sent 2 men to repair a water leak in the main . They couldn't quote a price until they found the leak. Then they asked me what it was worth to me. They finally gave me a price of $950.00 The leak was right beside the main. They repaired the main and it didn't leak and reattached the feed line for the irrigation system (so I was told) that they removed while fixing the main. They said to call them when the dirt settled and they would come back and finish the grading. They were called on April 18 and never showed up. The edge of the box on the irrigation system was on top of the valve so it was unaccessible. The line was ran almost even with the ground which would cause it to freeze and they eliminated the line that was required to purge the system in the winter. I e-mailed them 5-26-2013 and 5-27-2013 and received no response. I called on 5-58-2013 and left voice mail and no one retured my call. I called the evening of 5-28-2013 and finally reached someone. They said they would send someone by on 5-29 or 5-30.The guy showed up on 5-30 and he had no idea how the piping was suppose to be ran so I drew him a picture. He took it with him and they called and said they would be there June 2. At that time I removed the panel cover and turned on the irrigation and water went everywhere. They had pieced together 2 pieces of PVC pipe by sliding one inside the other without any adaptor. The was also a piece of rubber installed on the PVC pipe with a radiator clamp. At this point it was apparent they had no idea of what they were doing so I called them and told them not to come back out. I now have to cut and lower the pipe, and re-pipe what they did in order to have the purge line for the system and to stop the water from leaking. Worst service I have ever had.

Response from Crowe Services
"When the gentlemen above called his called was answered and we responded. It was handled in an appropriate manner but unfortunatly we can not make everyone happy. We were going back out as he was told and he called us and said it was taking care of. We were willing to fix it and make it right but were not given the chance . We tried doing the right thing but were not given the chance. Sorry for the inconvience."

My experience with Crowe Services was not good. Their service took forever. They had to do a custom cover three times. They were also supposed to come back and grade the property that they dug up but they never came and did that.
Response from Crowe Services
"The above clien is sadly mistaken. We do not do custom covers for any tank. We always try to get in and out on any job we do but we do run into problems with weather beyond our control, some people don't understand this. We also always tell the client to call us a few weeks after the ground has settled so we can come back and grade. If we don't get a phone call we can't follow up. Thanks"

Tidy Services' operator was diligent about completing the job, which was slow due to having to pump uphill. However, the job started out slow because at first he would not listen to me regarding the location of the septic access !  (mine is buried, 50-year-old system) Note, this may have cost more but tank had been pumped out 4 months earlier. I had not yet figured out that the transfer pipe from septic to distribution tank had become clogged, which is why i had septic pumped again so soon. Had I been diligent about pumping septic tank every 10 years the pipe never would have clogged!

When they came out to do the estimate they were 2 hours later than what was originally told, and the day they were suppose to do the work no one showed up or called. My husband called and was told that an employee had a broken leg and they will need to reschedule but as I stated my husband had to call, but I will say once they came out they did a good job and we were please with the work performed.

hey told us they would need to replace the pump for $1900
Response from Crowe Services
"Unfortunataly we can not please everyone even though we try. We were not giving all of the correct information from the home owner which is why things happened the way they did. When we are called out to a site there are certain things that are requested from the client so we can do our job, when we are not given all the info and mislead that results in problems for both parties. As far as our costs we always try to inform our clients of costs even before we come out. The materials and equipment we use for sites is also different then a lot of other companies. There are a lot of companies that are using sub par supplies and the home owner ends up paying more in the long run. We are sorry for any inconvience and we always put our best foot forward. Thanks and be blessed."

The employee who dug up the ground to install the manhole did contact Miss Utility before he dug. Because of negligence on the part of Miss Utility, a gas line was cut and the gas company called out. This caused a one day delay for completion of the job. I also didn't think it should have cost so much. When a machine is used to dig, I don't think they should charge 25 dollars a foot. I thought that charge was for manual labor. The price quoted on the phone seemed to be less than what I paid. But, I would use this company again. Next time it will be cheaper since there will be no digging involved.
