Worth Moving

I've been holding off posting a review, hoping for a better resolution. Our experience with Worth Moving was miserable and they have earned this rating. When we scheduled the move, we set up a pack-up on Monday/move to storage on Tuesday. They called Monday morning saying they could pack-up/on load in one day. The 3-person crew showed late the following day. One of the packers was on day-2 with the company and they had him do a dish pack. My wife and I helped on-load the truck since as sold our house were closing the following day. They never did an inventory -- I called in immediately and was told they would do a full inventory upon download. When they delivered our local move, they lost our dining room table and some dishes were broken. We filed a claim -- the offer was $150, I turned it down. The owner of the company messaged me and said he would look for our dining room table in the warehouse. He never responded. So much for customer service.

Nightmare move that took twice as long as expected. Like other negative reviews, they showed up late and hardly worked. Others were on the phone and smoking and talking in the street. He would carry 1 box with phone in the other hand. My place was destroyed along with furniture. No response from owners. They even tried to reschedule the morning of the move with a "story" about slashed tires. Did not call early, but after I was expecting their arrival. The truck that finally showed up did not have any new tires. So I do not believe them. One mover just disappeared. No one mentioned the missing mover, I had to ask what happened. No replacement was being considered. After calling multiple times, the Operations Manager finally called me back. I explained my frustrations and concerns about the job. He finally sent another person to save the day. But at this point it was already getting extremely late. I was even moving stuff, disassembling furniture and gathering their supplies to move this process along. All the while they are hanging out at the truck doing nothing. My walls and floor were damaged all over. They removed the door after it too was damaged and did not put it back. I sent pictures of house damages and furniture damages, but no response. No follow up from owners to apologize or offer compensation for their incompetence and lack of care. I asked for someone to help with repairs with no luck. I had to spend more hours of my time fixing and cleaning. This move took twice as long as the previous move with less stuff! At almost midnight on a very long, frustrating day, I just wanted it over. Very disappointing experience after the owners both came to our house and did a survey. They promised an easy move, but delivered the worst move ever. I would not recommend them at all!!

Packers showed up on Nov 3, packed and loaded household goods on to truck. Took Household goods to warehouse to store until Nov 12 for delivery. Goods were offloaded from truck and put in Storage. Delivery was to be on Nov 12 in Greenfield Indiana, did not show up, received call it would be Nov 13. Nov 13 they showed up to unload, Items were broken, Boxes missing, Boxes unpacked and put in unmarked boxes, it was a nightmare. I suspect that Items were stolen that is way they are missing. Very valuable collectables boxen the can not be replaced. Antiques broken or destroyed. This company should not be in business, they do not supervise their worker work. The person who repacked are goods on to the truck for delivery did not care about our stuff and packed it on the truck terribly. Please do not use this Moving Company.

Overall I think your experience with this company will be based on your moving crew. The first moving crew had a great leader. Although there was wall damage and the office said they could send someone out to fix it but they did not. I paid for it myself because my buyers were moving in the next day. November 13th 2021, I was supposed to have my items delivered to my new address. The crew showed up. We did a walk through to understand the layout. One crew member unapologetic said they have one mattress not two. Frank the crew leader showed me the invoice with what I owed and wanted me to sign before anything started. I did not want to sign upfront without a plan to fix my walls and who knows what else was missing off the truck at this point. Frank said he was going to talk to the office. Next thing I know I go downstairs and everyone was gone. I have no idea at this point what is going on. I still do not have my stuff. I'm terrified I might end up like the bad reviews paying to replace my already new furniture.

Where do I start? They damaged 60% of the items they moved for us, they took an entire day to move our house, damaged our home, ignored our REPEATED attempts to get the information we needed for the claim we were putting in for the things they broke, and now we are being told we took too long to submit the claim (keep in mind we called daily, and multiple times a day) so we are getting nothing. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

There was a bit of a mishap that happened during the move. Wasn't really satisfied with the service but since they ameneded it, I consider recommending them to other howmeowners as well.

I can’t speak highly enough about Worth Moving. I have used them 3 times. We moved from our old house into and apartment and then our apartment into a new house. While building a home is one of the most stressful things I have ever done I can say Worth moving made it so I did not have to worry about the move. On both moves the employees were punctual, professional and extremely pleasant to work with. They took great care and between 2 full moves and not a single item was damaged. I have heard a lot of horror stories of moving companies charging by the hour and then there is absolutely no hustle out the employees to make the move go in a timely manner. THIS IS NOT THE CASE WITH WORTH. They was no slacking on the job with Worth. Matt made the quoting of the job absolute fair, honest and smooth. On another occasion Worth helped me get an elliptical from a friends house to our house. I couldn’t have asked for better service. If you need a hassle free, worry free and competitively priced move than you can’t go wrong with Worth Moving.

The movers were very polite, careful, helpful and moved everything to the correct location. Their trailer was very clean too. Would recommend using Worth moving to everyone.

Sales team was friendly and answered all of my questions. The movers gave me a call when they were on the way, worked fast and efficiently. I would definitely use this company again.

I would recommend this company to anyone getting ready for this very stressful experience. Polite and professional goes with out saying!! Not only were the employees of this company totally professional and careful when I was around, I had occasion to visit the warehouse unannounced to pick up some boxes and observed a bunch of busy bees. They were unloading and loading trucks and using the care and precision they would use on their own belongings. The warehouse is clean as a whistle and I feel very safe leaving some of my prize possessions there in their care.

Moved my furniture to new house garage and returned three months later to put in new house. Movers were fast and the price was very reasonable BUT, they did not move everything and they destroyed several expensive pieces of furniture, broke several picture frames and did NOT cover the mattresses as they claimed they would. Nice people, lousy movers.

Worth moving is worthless! Do not waste your money! They promised free boxes if you book with them, never happened. Then they quote you a price that is no where near close! Why? Because their movers are unprofessional and rather spend the time your paying for on their phone or talking to strangers in the street instead of moving your items. They also take a 45 minute break on your dime. Then they make you feel threatened to sign their paper and guess what?? Your now paying $300+ more than your quote plus the broken items from their careless way they moved your items. The company will not answer you when you call to complain. So you stop payment to get their attention for their BAIT & SWITCH, then they want to take you to court. This family is a joke and needs to be put out of business. AVOID!!!!

The staff REALLY lived up to their name! The service was "Worth" every penny! I'm grateful for the Packers, Mr. Robert, Mr. Calvin and especially Vanessa's leadership! Their courtesy and efficiency in 4 hours exceeded what would have taken me 4 weeks to do by myself! And I can't begin to thank The Movers enough! Mr. Ray, John, Mike and Keon ("Keno") demonstrated amazing respect, strength and organization in moving my family from the fourth floor...without an elevator! Whew! However, the biggest blessing was the extra mile that Keno took to disassemble our beds in the old apt and to assemble them in the new one, so we would have a place to rest after so many long days! What a gift! I don't want to neglect to thank Austin for seeing the project through from beginning to end...even while he was out of town. As well as for the support of the Owner, Matt, who dropped by to "tie up a few loose ends!" I would very Highly recommend Worth Moving to everyone!!! I must say that although I am currently living in my dream apt, and have no intentions to move anymore, if I had to, I would gladly do it all over again with Worth!

From the estimate on cost of moving, to the support staff in the office to the movers, this company is WONDERFUL!!! True professionals! I highly recommend this company for any move you need to make!

Worth Moving was very responsive, gave me a nearly perfect quote estimate, and were able to help me move within the state with four days' notice. The crew were very professional and took care packing my things onto the truck. Everything I own made it to my new apartment safely (from Williamsburg to Arlington). The crew were very quick at loading and unloading the truck and made a stressful day go that much smoother.

Horrible!! Dear BBB, There were two problems with a move from Henrico, Virginia to Chesterfield, Virginia. Despite the fact that the company was the most expensive that I had priced, I agreed to an estimate from Mr. Mathew Smith, President of Worth Moving. I elected to use the Full Value replacement instead of the 60 cent/pound insurance. For this, I paid almost $600. I was not told that there was a deductible and did not initial and select a deductible value. When I asked to file a claim, I was told that there was a $250 deductible. I filed police report 200110279 in Henrico County but was told by the officer Hinnebusch that this would be better suited for BBB arbitration. I would have elected the lowest $100 deductible if given the choice. No-one is allowed to falsify my initials. I emailed Mr. Smith who stated that because I signed the original document (with the value selected by someone else), I had no standing. In addition, I had a glass studio Water fountain for sale that Mr. Smith inquired about. I emailed him the price. I then emailed him a barter solution with his Worth Moving company "junk removal" arm of the business. He agreed to take the water fountain (on his time) in exchange for taking several items to the goodwill/thrift shops for donation and tax receipts. Whatever could not be donated would be taken to a landfill. I used the furniture to stage my $600,000 home but we were combining the two homes into one and could not keep all of the furniture. I could have donated to another service - Goodwill and Diversity thrift, who would have picked up the items, but elected to enter in this barter arrangement for convenience. However, Mr. Smith did not provide me with the tax receipts or contact information of the charity, despite multiple email exchanges. I was raised to believe that a handshake meant something and am saddened to involve your company in these two disputes.

It was the best move ever! The guys on the truck were conscientious, efficient and personable. We have moved many times and this was the first time that nothing was broken or damaged. The cost was very reasonable, too.

They did a good job. The only problem I had was on one occasion, one of their helpers dropped a box. When I reacted, he shot back at me. I didn't appreciate it but other than that, things went well.

Great! They unhooked each set and then hooked both sets back up once they were moved and made sure they were working properly. Couldn't have done it without them. I highly recommend Worth Moving!
