I made an appointment to have the oil changed in my Prius after work one day; the initial oil change was relatively quick. I also asked to have my wipers looked at, as the front passenger blade was not properly clearing the windshield, despite my having tried multiple brand-new wipers (the whole blade, not just replacing the rubber strip). The service technician said that he'd replace the wipers, insisting that was the only thing that could be wrong. I said okay, thinking I must have made a mistake when buying them on my own.
When my car was done, I checked the wiper situation before leaving. The problem was still there, despite the technician having replaced the wipers with brand-new ones. I pointed this out, and after looking at it a little more closely, the technician discovered the wiper arm was slightly bent and putting too much pressure on the blade. He bent it it slightly back into place, and within ten seconds, voila! Problem solved. I wish he had actually looked at the issue before telling me I needed yet another new set of wipers.
Then, as I started to drive away, I got a half-block down Jefferson Davis Highway before the gas engine shut down and I was running solely on battery power. I turned around at the next opportunity and drove back to the shop, and the same technician who had serviced my car helped me push it across the road when I couldn't make it all the way there on battery power alone. The gas engine wouldn't come back on, he couldn't diagnose the problem on his own, and all of the other technicians had left for the evening, so I left the car overnight and took a loaner to get to work the next day.
The next day I called mid-morning to see if my car was ready yet; the person who answered said the technician had been working on it all morning, and they would call back when it was ready. No one called back, so I drove by after work to see if it was ready. It was. When I asked what had happened, the technician explained that the battery had been fully discharged, and since the gas engine uses the battery to start up, it couldn't do so. He said he drove it for several miles to charge up the battery and it was working fine again. That didn't explain why the gas engine suddenly stopped working in the first place, while the battery had plenty of charge. I just wanted to get home, so I didn't press him on the issue.
I won't go back to Virginia Automotive Service. The woman working the counter was as helpful as she could be, but I don't like the way the technician handled me or my car.

Virginia Automotive Service tow truck driver picked up our vehicle within an hour of my call and the shop was quick to get our repairs completed on our vehicle. They also worked with us to find the most affordable solution to the repairs that we needed to have made.

They took my car back at the scheduled time and completed the work in an appropriate timeframe. They identified a couple secondary lights that were out that had been missed by other providers. For a small shop, I was happy to see that they had free wifi to use while I waited. Everyone at the shop was courteous. As a new customer, they gave me a logo pen and small flashlight when I checked out. They also mailed me a thank you note with a gift card for use next time. I would use them again.

They were great, I dropped my car off for a couple hours and had to wait for a bit when I came to pick up my car but they seemed pretty busy. They were polite and it was a comfortable environment and they seemed eager to help their customers. I feel they were honest in their estimates and they did offer me an engine fluid flush based on the amount of miles on my car but I chose to pass only because of the expense and the time it would take. I would definitely recommend them to my friends because they were great but I do feel like their prices are a little higher than average but I would be willing to pay the little extra for the experience.
