I have been able to continue using a laptop that I thought I would need to replace for several years, at a cost significantly less than the replacement cost would have. Computer Doctor of Richmond, on every occasion, was very forthcoming with information and pricing, very knowledgeable, and very accommodating for scheduling, pickups and deliveries. I have no complaints about this company whatsoever.

This is a fantastic group to work with. There is nothing more frustrating than struggling with a computer problem. These guys respond promptly, explain the problem to me in terms that I can appreciate and make sure that the system is running smoothly before they leave. Their pricing is right on the mark. I can highly recommend them and will be using them for all of my computer needs in the future.

My HP laptop computer crashed. A lot of important data had to be retrieved. Kevin picked up my computer and was quick to analyze the problem and recommend a solution on a timely basis. I followed his recommendation as I had previous experience working with him and was very pleased with the results. Kevin came to my home, helped me setup my new PC and transferred the data from my old laptop. As a self-employed businessman, I found his work to be very professional and thorough. Highly recommended.

Not a good deal, not a good place to get your computer fixed. You get what you pay for. I sent my laptop here with a broken DC jack. Before I gave it to him, I booted it up and everything worked fine, except the battery would not charge. The Computer Doctor had my laptop for a month. After he replaced the power jack, I get an email that everything is fine but the laptop won't power off when closing it. Then the phone call. Now your computer won't POST or Boot. He said I think your video card is bad. At that moment I stopped him and asked for my laptop back. This story was hard for me to believe considering everything was working fine when I gave it to him. He gave me some line about a known issue with NVIDIA Graphics cards, After doing some research I found there is a known issue, but not with this make/model of laptop or graphic card. I got the feeling he was trying to pull one over on me and was trying to pass off damage done by his technician on a known issue that didn't even apply. After asking for the laptop back, he said he was sorry, and that he would not charge full price for the work he had done so far. I expressed my displeasure with this, seeing as I am now out a $1200.00 gaming laptop because of something they did to it. I have my laptop back, he did fix the power jack, and he did not charge me, so I guess that is worth something. The laptop in it's current state is worthless. I have set up an RMA with the manufacturer to have them investigate and fix. It will be interesting to see what comes back. Maybe his tech was not used to this particular model or something. Maybe they are better working on less complicated systems or less complicated problems. Not sure. I actually chose this person because of the prior postive reviews.
Gave an F in quality since the laptop was returned non-functional after completing the work requested. Gave an F in professionalism since I felt like he was tring to take advantage and give bad information to deflect liability from himself.
Response from The Computer Doctor Of Richmond

"I respect [member name removed]'s opinion and understand his disappointment with not having a fully functional computer. We were tasked by [member name removed] to repair a power jack issue. At the time of pick up, the computer was NOT fully functional, if it was, our services wouldn't have been needed. We got it back into the shop and proceeded as normal by taking it completely apart and examining the main board. We found that power was in fact NOT getting through the jack to the computer. We replaced the jack as we were asked to do by [member name removed]. This did fix the initial problem. However, after restoring power flow, we found that [member name removed]'s computer had more issues. We found through research that his model computer has a very common motherboard problem. Unfortunately there was nothing we could do, except replace the entire board. This wasn't acceptable to [member name removed]. As [member name removed] noted, we didn't charge anything, which was and is the only time we've ever had to do this. I understand his frustration, but unfortunately we were on the receiving end of it when his anger should have been focused on Asus, the manufacture for producing a substandard product. Kevin, The Computer Doctor"

Excellent service - my fan had stopped working in my laptop, causing it to overheat and crash. They came by my house and picked up my laptop at a time that was convenient to me. They replaced the fan (as well as made several upgrades to ensure proper temperature regulation) and then put my laptop through rigorous testing to make sure it would not crash. They were very accessible via email and phone and gave me regular status updates. I will definitely use these guys again!
