Computer Repair
I've used this company before and have known the owner (Chris Shaw) for a number of years. After a severe thunderstorm resulted in a fried DSL modem, alarm system, phone line, computer, DVD player and ROKU, I called Chris to make an appointment to see if my computer could be fixed. I received an appointment for the next day and he arrived promptly with tools and supplies to test my machine. He brought, for example, power supplies to see if that was the only damage. After a thorough exam he pronounced my computer to be deceased. He took the hard drive out of the machine and took it with him to retrieve the data.
I ordered a new computer that day and when it arrived called Chris again to make an appointment to restore the data to the new computer. He again arrived on time and I was able to get an appointment promptly (called on a Fri so it was Monday before he came.) He checked the new computer over, opened it up, attached the old drive to it and offloaded all the data onto the new machine. He also had given me excellent advice to protect my electronics in future so I also ordered new UPSs with AVR as I live in the country and need to protect against voltage spikes.
My new computer is working great and all my data is here (just FYI, I also back up my computers to the clouds with Backblaze but, thanks to Verizon SLOW DSL, it'd take months to get all my data from the old machine to the new one that way.) I highly recommend Chris and Tech Master as he is experienced, trustworthy, personable and competant. It's reassuring to have someone I know and trust to rely on when computer issues arise.
