We were moving to Richmond and my wife came ahead of the family to buy some products and services for the house. She went to Stone Mountain. She was interested in a particular rug that cost about $300, but the salesperson talked her into buying a $900 rug that looked almost identical because he said it was wool and would wear better. We also bought a different rug and some custom runners. After the rugs were installed, I told my wife that the $900 rug looked just like a less expensive one. Of course, she told me what the salesman told her. I flipped up the corner to see the tag and realized that the salesman had lied to her. It was not a wool rug at all! I tried to take the rug back, but they refused the return, telling me that it was used (it was actually perfect and we had only had it for a couple of weeks). I complained to the Better Business Bureau, but they still would not budge. I called the president of the national company. His secretary said he would call me back, but did not.

Technically Stone Mountain sells the carpet and gives you a recommendation for an independent installer.

Stone Mountain's prices are great, but their service was completely awful. They had promised to have the carpeting cut and ready for pick up by my installer on a Thursday, but when Thursday came, my installer called me to let me know it wasn't ready. When asked, Stone Mountain claimed ''our truck hasn't come in''. The next day (Friday) resulted in the same story. After this, I asked for reimbursement for my time, since the rental house was awaiting this carpeting before showings, and receive no call backs for days, then no offer of any kind for my trouble. I had suggested a cash refund or, preferably, an upgrade of carpet). Overall, a pretty disappointing experience.

They had good selections of rugs and they had what we wanted and what we were looking for. The men who brought out the rugs were nice and they helped me anyway they could. They placed the rugs where we wanted them without any problem at all. The rugs were good quality and they didn t leave any mess.

Stone Mountain took four weeks after we called them to send people out and do the work, but once they came, it only took a day and a half to complete the job. They did a professional job, and we found no seams or tacks.

Stone Mountain did a wonderful job installing my flooring. I thought it would take longer then it did being they had to take up all the old flooring before they could install the new ones but by the end of the day it was done.
