No idea they helped pet rescue but called and they sent a team out crazy fast. Adam and Chris were able to help get my cat out of the storm drain. They were so nice and amazing I can't thank them enough.

Terrible. They charged $400 to clean oatmeal out of a disposal in under an hour! The invoice said they “snaked the pipe”, but they never did. When I called the office to complain, they never responded, instead asked their lawyer to send me a collection notice. STAY AWAY FROM THEM

They wanted to charge a service fee, more than a doctors hourly wage, to show up at my house. The total cost was estimated at $150 for 30 minutes of work, like you would expect from a medical doctor or phD. Instead an uneducated blue collar worker they pay maybe $20/hr was supposed to show up to snake in my drain for an entire day's wage. It takes a few minutes and a monkey with the tool can do the job. How else can I say it? They want to charge Ruth's Chris prices for a Waffle House steak. Its an idiot tax and they think homeowners are the idiot. So, I did it myself and you should, too. Consult Youtube for how to videos on anything and stop paying doctors wages to unskilled workers.

"We are very sorry to hear you were not satisfied with our pricing in reference to your plumbing/drain cleaning quote. We would like all of our customers to understand there is a cost to run a business beyond the technicians hourly wage. If you compare our prices with our competitors you will find that our pricing is more than fair and our warranties are longer. Thank you for your comments and we take all customer input seriously."

To my knowledge we never heard a word, received an email, a phone call, a letter or any kind of response from this company.

The technician did a good job in getting the drain unclogged. However, I was told that he would be here between 10:00 AM and noon. He arrived at 3:00 PM.

Technician was professional and came within time specified, company called prior to arrival as agreed. Prompt diagnosis of problem even with video of my crawl space demonstrating my different drain lines so I would understand the issues fully. Cost for work was explained prior to my agreement. Completed work efficiently and showed me exactly the problems as he went a long. Cleaned up behind himself perfectly. Pleasant and courteous, I made a note of his name so I could request him in the future. I felt perfectly secure with him in my house as a woman alone.

I had 3” of standing water in my basement. Root-Rooter was the first to respond. After coming out without the proper equipment, although I informed them on the phone that I had standing water, they came back the next day to use water pressure to unclog my drain. That did not work and added 3 more inches of water. I got a quote for having my entire sewer line replaced. I got other opinions. The company I selected came prepared with city maps and all the equipment necessary. They presented and explained my options and then solved the problem. Would never use Roto-Rooter again.

Plumber never showed or called to cancel. Rude, unprofessional, and worthless waste of time.

"Upon reviewing our records I found that the customers appointment was in fact on 1/17/18 between 11am and 1pm. I called the customer to confirm this information and the customer explained he had taken care of his plumbing issue and canceled his appointment. Jean Roto-Rooter Richmond, VA"

I called on evening of Thursday Nov 2nd. Explained that I had a constant drip from my master bathtub. I asked if they could come after 4:30pm Friday but they had nothing Was given a time slot between 10 am and 12pm on Saturday Nov 4th. At 12:15pm Saturday, after no show and no call, I called and was told he was running late and would receive a call when he was on his way. At a little after 2pm the plumber arrived (no pre-warning phone call). So I spent most of my day just waiting for plumber and was unable to do anything else I wanted to do that day. Once he arrived he didn't seem to have any background on the job. He said cartridge in handle needed to be changed. He showed me price in catalog and gave me estimate for job. I approved and he left to go get cartridge. He came back more than an hour later and said the 2 part suppliers they normally use were closed. Went to Lowes and they didn't have part. Finally at Home Depot found what he believed to be the part but that it was an updated version and wasn't 100% sure. Anyway he went to work. I watched closely as I wanted to see if I could do the job in the future. He was having some trouble figuring out how to put together the new cartridge. I actually got the directions out of the packaging and put it together and showed him. At some point he dropped the screw that holds the handle in place down the drain (didn't cover drain before working) but he did get it out. He did get the job done and the leak was fixed. He also removed hair build up from my tub drain and helped me with another unrelated problem with my kitchen sink. If I could give the individual plumber a rating I would give him 3 and half stars as he did the job fine and was a good guy who just seemed a bit overworked but the overall service received from Roto-Rooter was 2 stars at best. Roto-Rooter also charges a 4% fee to use a credit card. I was aware of this prior to the job but it is a ridiculous policy in 2017 and just adds to my dissatisfaction. Will not be a repeat customer. Will try another service next time.

When I called various plumbing companies on Thursday morning, most of which were highly rated on Angie's List, one and only one company would commit to scheduling a technician prior to the following Monday, and that was Roto-Rooter. Their technician arrived on time Friday morning, and quickly diagnosed and resolved the problem, offering very helpful advice for the proper use of a disposal, especially when a septic field is involved. This firm not only handled my service request in the most professional manner, but their technician clearly was expert and experienced.

Fine, though I'm not a fan of the "windows" that some firms have to give you, tech arrived well after the window had expired

The clogs were cleared perfectly. We ask for a cost estimate by phone, which they would not give. The cost for the job was higher that we expected (although our expectations may have been too low.)

These gentlemen (Tavares and Evan) spent countless hours working on my problem...and a problem it was. They not only had to play detective to find the clean out in a crawl space that we did not know existed, but were on the roof, as well. After several hours, they found deterioration in the 150' of original metal pipes. They worked diligently to clean out the years of debris that was causing the blockage. Not a fun task! Tavares quoted us a very fair price to preform this work. The solution is temporary, as the pipe will have to be replaced in time, but these men worked tirelessly to fix the issue. I am grateful to Tavares and Evan at Roto Rooter in Richmond for their concern, and determination! I highly recommend them!!

We had a plumbing problem that we could not fix on our own.  Evan with Roto-Rooter came out promptly, examined the problem, gave an estimate, and fixed our plumbing issues.  He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and explained everything to us.  We couldn't be happier with their service!

The serviceman who came out, I'll refer to him as "C", did a fantastic
job, of course, but went ABOVE & BEYOND in customer service and
actually contacted our municipal waterworks to arrange for a permanent
solution to the problem, given the invasion of roots was directly effecting city
equipment.
"C" made life a whole lot healthier and easier for our household and that man deserves a serious bonus, in my opinion.
At any rate, "C" shines bright on Roto-Rooter and does their enduring reputation a great service. The founder would be proud!
