"Due to scheduling conflict, and deadlines unfortunately our carrier North American made us pick up the shipment up to hold for there tractor to pick up from our dock. The North American Driver had vehicle problems and could not pick up our customers belonging on scheduled date. It was mid July and understandably vehicles malfunction. When we scheduled relocation it was short notice and we tried to do everything possible to get [member name removed] out on the requested dated. On the loading day, we had terrible weather. Making for delays in loading , we really wanted to go the extra mile by keeping all of your furniture padded up from top to bottom, and also go slow and carefully not to slip and fall, and damage your residence or hurt our workers. As stated the first relocation went well, and due to capacity restrictions and trying to make relocation deadlines the move didn't go as smoothly as anticipated. We are glad North American Van Lines replaced all damaged items!! We do fix what we damage and made sure you where properly compensated. We normally don't have bad relocation's and we apologize for any damages or delay that may have come from your relocation."

I bought pizza for the packers and offered them each a beverage. I was a little surprised when one of the packers asked for a second drink (not a problem) and then shortly thereafter, asked for a third soda as they were leaving.
Because of the location of my new home, the company had to be cautious about what size truck they used. The downfall - while the truck was able to fit down the private lane, it was too small for the move. A few of my possessions were left behind because there was no more room on the truck. And no more room in my compact SUV. And this was after loading some of the belongings in our pick-up the night before. (Good thing we know the current owner of our former home, but this has caused us to make a 9 hour round trip to retrieve our belongings.) Also, because of the size of the truck, it took significantly longer to pack it, as the foreman was very conscientious of space and fit things in superbly (like a puzzle). I had been told the movers would be done packing the truck by 5:30pm, and they took 3 hours longer. (Wouldn't have been too bad had I not then had to clean the house AND get my infant to our next location for bed - which was WAY too late for him!) But again, this was because the foreman was trying his best to get everything on the truck. The crew worked hard.
I was told that the truck would be leaving to come my way at 7am, which would put them at my new location by noon. They arrived around 2pm, but the key to unlock the padlock had been left behind - so this involved a trip to a local hardware store with my husband to get bolt cutters. (Ironically, my husband already had a set of bolt cutters, but they were locked in the back of the truck!) Once again, they weren't done unloading the truck until around 8:30pm. The crew did a great job of putting belongings were requested. Our only concern regarding unloading was that the box-springs could not fit up the staircase - (not their fault!) - but they bent and tied the mattresses, squishing them to get them upstairs when this was not necessary. (We ended up buying a new mattress and split box springs which arrived 4 days later, and the mattress company was able to get the new mattress upstairs without bending it at all.) I don't think bending a mattress is good for it - and it was a $1300 mattress purchased in December.
