Pocoshock Animal Hospital (PAH) is proud to be an American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) member hospital. PAH has been serving the pets and residents of Chesterfield County since 1977. In 2009, the hospital was acquired by Gayle Calhoun and Aubrey O. Friedhoff, III. We are committed to excellence in companion animal care. It was very expensive. Vets are expensive. Honestly, they are very overpriced, but they are like 5 minutes from my house, so we take them there. I know I could do a at better at another vet. If I compared they are like in the middle of the road. We don’t have to wait lone, they are good about that. It’s an older building, so I would give it a “B”, it wasn’t anything special. They take care it, it’s clean, organized. They related well with my pet. When they were adding up the price, we actually had to remove some products.

We have been going to Pocoshock for 10yrs now with four different dogs. Dr. Larsen and her staff have seen us through the death of one dog and cared for three others. They are kind, considerate and are true and quot;animal peopleand quot;. They will discuss price with you, tell you what is best for your animal and even will give you a list to research if you want. My dogs do not stress over going to the vet, they are do gentle. I cannot say enough about Dr. Larsen and her staff. They are family!!

We use them regularly. They have a lot of compassion for animals, and this includes the receptionist. It's pretty easy to get an appointment, and I think that reflects the compassion they have for animals. Their prices are very reasonable. Our visits with them have been excellent.

Everyone is competent and compassionate from the receptionist to all of the doctors. They are cutting edge in terms of keeping abreast of the latest research and debates in the field of animal care. They always make me feel as though they are 110% on my (my kitty's) team. It's a friendly, clean, caring and competent environment. I moved 40 minutes away and continued to go there!

My cat is very shy and does not handle people very well. The vet sedated him and after about 20 minutes. He was very calm and relaxed. She handled him very well and explained everything to me as she worked. I was very pleased with my very first visit.

Dr. Hicky is very good. I like him very much. He provides good care to animals. He charges pretty reasonable rates too for the good service you get. He is good with animals. I am very comfortable talking with him.
