Paul Leshner, his family and team have been caring for my Volvo's for 35 years. If your car needs towing, the driver prefers to take it to Paul's due to his fine reputation. Paul, the family and staff are far beyond and quot;first class.and quot;
It is impossible to give data on the six cars he has cared for over this period. The few times I have no been satisfied the matter has always been appropriately attended to.
Were it not for these people I would be in hock to the local Volvo dealer whose service has been far below par over half the time I have tried them.
Take you Volvo to Paul's. You will be happy, your car will run better and you bank account will thank you.

They've done tune ups and heating system repair 8 months ago. On note on that, we went to one car dealer and they said for the heat repair alone about $2500 another car dealer we went to they said it will be $2000 a little bit up and up so we took it to Paul's Volvo it was under $300 for the heat repair and a tune-up. The staff was excellent, courteous the whole nine yards and honesty and ndash; one thing like I said we took it to two other dealers and they never did exact same thing that they were going to repay us for that figure. Punctuality in seeing you when you get there and having the car ready when they said they would have it ready. They provide a car for you to use while your car is being repaired and any work that we have done there is always been excellent. Always satisfied with their work and everything and never had to bring back the car in because of issues.

I had a horrible experience with Paul's Volvo and would not go there again. My first experience with them was okay. I took my 2004 Volvo S80 in to get it inspected and there were several repairs needed to the tune of $775. They also informed me that I needed to change the timing belt and get the transmission flushed. I took the car in three weeks later on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to get the timing belt and transmission flushed. I also informed them that the car was running rough and making a strange noise. When Danny from Paul's called me to give me the cost estimate he said that they ran a diagnostic on the car which they charged me $88 for but could not replicate the noise or running rough. They did find that I needed a crank sensor and a turbo control valve. I agreed to the repairs which costed a total of $1177,59.

When I picked the car up it was obvious that everyone there was ready to go and waiting for me to get my car which is understandable on the day before a holiday. Danny told me they could not replicate the noise that I had been hearing. I left with the car and within blocks I started hearing the noise again. I drove the car home because I figured they would be gone by the time I returned to the shop. When my husband looked under the hood he found that the serpentine belt was broken and the alternator pulley was extending out of the alternator and out of alignment with the other pulleys! The serpentine belt was riding on the pulley shaft, not the pulley He was very alarmed and concerned that the work we paid for had not been done as any basic mechanic would have noticed this if he had worked on the car and test drove it. Also it did not appear that any work had been done on the car because road dust was covering the timing belt cover and the intake manifold cover without any finger prints or disturbance which would indicate they had not been touched.
We had the car towed to Paul's on the Monday morning after Thanksgiving and got no satisfaction or help! Paul, the owner informed us that the car needed an alternator and it would be another $1100 to get the car fixed. The alternator alone would cost $600 not including labor. We later purchased a brand new alternator for $200. Their labor rate is $85 an hour which is higher than most dealerships. They charged us $42.50 just to look at the car and tell us that the alternator needed to be replaced! They did not offer us any concessions after we had already spent close to $2000 with them on the two previous repairs! We had the car towed back home and my husband worked on it. Once he got the car started and ran it for about 45 minutes he checked the transmission fluid and found it to be low which would indicate that the transmission fluid was not changed. When he called Paul's they said he needeed to run the car until it was hot to check the transmission fluid. In our opinion, it should have been hot after running for 45 minutes.
I was more than willing to get the car fixed and I don't mind paying for good service but nickeling and diming me I could not accept. I felt I was being gauged; $42.50 to simply look under the hood is ridiculous . I heard great things about Paul's and was referred there by a co-worker. I was looking for a place that I could trust and planned to take other family cars to them for repairs. Needless to say I am very dissappointed and disillusioned by my experience. I don't trust them and will never go there again and I have told all my friends and co-workers about my experience with them.

Response from PAUL'S VOLVO SPECIALIST
"I take any complaint from a customer very seriously and do my best to reconcile it. I am very familiar with the repairs done on [member name removed] Volvo. Honestly, I am very surprised about this complaint. When [member name removed] came in he brought pictures that he took of his alternator. Using his pictures, my shop foreman showed him the rust around the shaft on the alternator and that the shaft had come out of the alternator causing the auxiliary belt to come off. This could be entirely due to the car having 244,564 miles on it. Mechanical parts fail on any vehicle with this kind of mileage. [member name removed] insinuates that the pulley has to be removed from the alternator to replace the serpentine belt. This is not true. We quoted the alternator $686.61 for the part and $ 253.50 for labor for a total of $ 940.11. [Member name removed] also stated that he did not think the work was done that he had paid for. We asked [member name removed] to be here when his car arrived so we could show him that the timing belt was replaced, that the transmission was flushed and the correct way to check the transmission fluid. He declined, saying “no that will not be necessary." Since then, I offered again by phone for him to bring the car in for us to show him the new parts on his car to which he declined. I would be happy to show [member name removed] that the work was done and done right. We have carried an A+ record for over thirty-two years. We take a lot of pride in our work and treating our customers fairly. We do not cheat anyone. Sincerely, Paul F. Lesher Owner, Paul’s, The Volvo Specialist"

I eventually moved away from the Volvo because they were really so expensive, but for people who do own Volvo, Paul's Volvo was really great. I had been using them for 10 years and I owned a Volvo for 15 years. I think their professionalism is really great their expertise you cannot compare, they are just wonderful and they are very popular, they are the best in town for Volvos. Unless you go to a dealer, they are like an alternative to a dealer. Be a little prepared for the price of Volvo it is not bad.

They found me a used fuel pump which saved me lots of money. In the course of fixing the fuel pump, there was another issue that was fixed at no additional charge. This was an issue that I thought would cost me hundreds of dollars. I will continue to use them and I would recommend them.

They figured out that there was a fuse missing for my lights and I had a ignition switch that needed to be replaced. They explained to me how I could start my car in the meantime without having to spend the money to fix that. They were honest, very helpful and I would recommend them.

We have used Paul's to maintain/repair our 2003 Volvo XC70 for about 5 years. They always provide friendly service at a reasonable price, and their older Volvo loaners are fun to drive too. Recommended repairs are thoroughly explained without the sense of being "upsold."

My most recent involvement was free of charge because I was returning the car for an issue from the previous repair. He took care of it.

Overall, very professional, high-quality work, and fast. And their loaner vehicles provide a good nostalgic opportunity to drive a vintage Volvo!

Paul's Volvo did an excellent job of replacing the air conditioning and brakes in a timely manner. They were very fair and honorable in all aspects of their business at the time of my service. I have been using them for a while and I will continue to go back to them.
