N. Chasen and Son has been protecting and beautifying homes in the Richmond and the surrounding counties for 100 years. We employ the finest craftsman--experienced and dedicated painters and carpenters. Our workers undergo a criminal background check and periodic drug screening. All workers are employees, and we do not use subcontractors. We are fully licensed (Class A contractor, 2701 005889A) and insured. We are an EPA certified lead-safe contractor (NAT-21637-0) All estimates are written, provided for free and without obligation; all work is warrantied for one year. Jeff Chasen is the third generation owner of N. Chasen and Son.

I contacted N. Chasen and Son to replace our shutters. While working on the quote for the shutters via email, a wind storm tore some trim off our house, so I asked if they could include that as part of the work (as well as replacing some siding and a louver). They sent someone out the next week to check the shutter dimensions and determine what was needed for the trim, siding, and louver. They suggested repainting the louvers instead of replacing, and sent me a quote for all the work and to get it scheduled. On the scheduled date, Marcus was on time and very friendly. He walked me through everything they were going to do and explained that the shutters were on backorder and would be in later in the week, but he replaced the trim and painted one of the louvers (he needed a longer ladder for the second). He had to return a few times to finish the work, but he made sure it was all completed and the quality is fantastic. I'm very pleased with my experience with N. Chasen and Son and will definitely hire again when I have need.

Exceptionally good work. Ceilings are tricky, and both the patching and painting were done on time and with little "dust" spread. Follow up work (as I said, ceilings are tricky, and sometimes minor flaws are only seen in specific daylighting) was punctual and very well done. Not the least expensive contractor; but the best we've found in 30 years in the Richmond area.

I was very impressed by the all members of the N. Chasen team that I and my sister interacted with during the full process of assessing, repairing, and painting my house in Henrico. Everyone from the staff in the office to those in the field were courteous, professional, friendly, and skillful. The that included photos of areas that would be repaired was particularly helpful. The carpenters who were thorough, to adept and respectful to my sister were much appreciated. And, the painter who was able to correct the color for the shutters quickly and easily showed what a kind and adept firm he represented. I rate your efforts a full Five stars. Thank you. These guys do excellent work. You'd never know there was damage throughout our walls and ceilings. The interior paint job was flawless & matched perfectly. They honored fair pricing with our contracted and handled some unforeseen issues professionally and promptly. They were great to work with and would use them again.

I had painting and staining done on exterior areas of my home. I cannot say enough good things about my experience. First of all, the work was well done, in fact outstanding high quality workmanship The employees were very professional. The showed up early and worked all day. The foreman made sure that he communicated with me about everything. This was a well managed project that did not leave me with some of the usual contractor headaches. I would highly recommend this company and use them again in the future.

I used N Chasen & Son to stain my decks and paint some trim. I worked with Justin and Denise to coordinate the job and they were great, but most of my emails were to Justin. Since I live out of state from the location of my property, Justin coordinated most of the job for me. He answered all my questions, kept me updated, and emailed me photos of the job for my review. The Chasen crew did an excellent job with the painting and staining, I am happy with the quality of their workmanship.

This is the most professional contractor I have had the pleasure of hiring. They were prompt for the appointments, showed up when they said, completed the job and extremely responsive. Everyone was professional and helpful. A truly first class company that I would not hesitate to recommend and will definitely use again. You may find another company a little less expensive but won't find another one that gives you this type of value for the money.

Carlos arrived on time and worked according to schedule. He was meticulous in every respect and highly skilled. This company has done considerable painting for us in the past, both inside and outside. For interior work, I suggest asking for Carlos and expecting superior results.
