With a year left on a 3 year extended warranty, Home Depot will not honor a repair which they claim the manufacturer should. This was not spelled out at all in the warranty. In addition, I have spent 2 1/2 hours on the phone the past two days holding for a manager who did not follow through as promised. I called back and was 45 additional minutes on hold for a manager who had no resolution. This is actually the second extended warranty issue I have had with the Home Depot in 3 weeks. I will not be shopping there again.

They were on the high side. Their estimate was for $8500. They showed up on time and one of the guy followed up. I chose another provide over them because of the price.

Carpet Installation, Countertops and Backsplashes
My wife and I went to our local Home Depot and were shown a selection of countertop materials by Judy, a kitchen specialist. We were impressed by her helpfulness and ordered a new countertop. We paid at the time of the order, 11/07/2010. It was important to us that we would have the unit delivered and installed by thanksgiving, 11/25. We were assured that this would be no problem. As it turned out HD contracted with Stone Solutions of Raleigh to fulfill our order. We were contacted by HD that we needed to come in and pay more because of an underestimate of the amount of counter area. This we did on 11/17, still expecting to have the countertop, which was paid for in full, done by thanksgiving. We also asked at each juncture to be kept informed about the eta of the unit. NADA!! I also made many phone calls to the fine folks at Stone Systems asking them when might I expect the countertop. NADA!! On December 13 I was informed by a knock on the front door that my countertop was here and they were ready to install it immediately. There was a paucity of information coming from the installers as English was not their first language. I was urged to sign the acceptance form immediatly after the speedy installation and the gentlemen seemed surprised that I wished to inspect the finished job and read the paper I was encouraged to sign. One phrase I remember from the form was that after it was signed Stone Systems would be free of any liabilities. That was very reassuring. I will continue to shop at Home Depot when it is convenient but never again depend on them to take care of my greater home needs.

I love their store and the employees were helpful. I had a problem with the product and they way it was listed. I got online to homedepot.com and found a vanity I liked. There was a description and picture. I went to the store to look at it and it had the same number but there were features that were different and it did not look as good. I had a lot of misgivings because it had a lot of things different even though it had the same model number. I called and said I did not want to pick up the vanity but that I wanted a refund. The nice lady on the phone at the store said no problem and processed it and mailed it to me so I did not have to go to the store and pick up the receipt. I was not happy with the product or that it was listed improperly on homedepot.com but I thought the store did well.

As usual, I was greeted when I entered the store and asked if I needed help finding anything. In addition to the grill, I was picking up wire nuts to cap of some wires during a remodel. The person at the door knew exactly what I was talking about and exactly where they were. The amazing thing to me is that this is representative of my interactions with this store. I can only think of once in the last 2 years when the first person I talked to could not answer my question. After acquiring the wire nuts, I went to look at some shelving/racks for our basement. I spotted a guy in the orange apron and asked him for help. He took me to the appropriate aisle and explained the pros and cons of the different shelving units. Then he asked if I needed help with anything else, and he took me out and helped me with the grill. I told him how impressed I was with the knowledge and helpfulness of everyone in the store. He siad he appreciated eharing that, because he's the store manager. Not-so-rando orange apron guy was the store manage, out on the floor Memorial Day weekend. Nice! They cleaned the grill for me, helped me load it into the truck, and even helped me strap it down--which most folks won't do anymore for fear of litigation. I'm really kind of a fanatic when it comes to good customer service, These folks are getting it right and doing it pretty consistently.

Fabulous in store salesperson. Friendly, efficient, and answered every single question easily! Loved the printouts and he was clear on pricing and any ad-ons. Delivery completely sucked though! I hadn't realized it was a contracted company delivering until the 5pm delivery turned out to be about 10pm with never ending installation incompetence. Whining, excuses, and a general pain in the "rear". They told me they were legally required to install a no-tilt device to keep the stove from tilting and falling (a rare occurrence, they said). They said that they didn't have a way to attach my stove to the plaster wall in my 1915 home. HUH? They told me they were supposed to take it back if they didn't install the tilt prevention device. I was literally in tears. They left it - I have my stove. It hasn't tilted, but I guess I shouldn't hurl myself at it? :)

Window Service
The salesman arrived on time, was professional and seemed to be knowledgeable. The installation crew consisted of two middle aged men, who were dressed and acted professionally. The installation crew spent about four hours installing our windows. I was not happy with the look of the new octagon window, we had lost a lot of glass space with the new one. Trying to get some one to explain why was very difficult and we decided to move on with out doing anything about it. The other problem I had was with the financing on our Home Depot card. We had been told that it would be twelve months no interest no payment and the first two statements did not reflect that. After about two months of phone calls and emails I finally got it straight. Overall we are pleased with installation and the quality of the windows.

Actually, the job did take longer than expected. They would show up at like 6:00 pm and would try to work until 12:00 midnight. The cabinets are very good and we are happy with them. It was just the 3 1/2 month wait to get it all completed. I think because of that I would probably not have them back again. It was just too long of a wait.

Rented belt sander to strip outdoor painted deck. The guys at Home Depot were extremely knowledgeable, and helped me select the right tools and supplies. Was very pleased with results and it was nice that their tool rental was open late.

Carpet Installation
The carpeting they sold us was fine, but the guys they contracted to do the work were terrible. We talked to a guy from Home Depot and he got kind of nasty with my husband, after we complained about their shady work. The carpet job looked fine at first, but then it began to ripple and come up, because they didn t put it down very well and it looked horrible.

They did a good job from start to finish. From having a good sales rep to the guys who did the actual work everything went well. They tore out the old floors without any problems and laid everything out nicely too. They did a nice job of cleaning everything when they were done and everything looked great.

They did a great job showing up when they said they would, they didn't mess around and they went right to work. Things were moved out and they cleaned up the old tear off and debris before starting the installation. They did great quality work and they were professional at all times. We were very happy with the results.

Window Service
I was very satisfied with Home Depot. I have an older home and the energy costs went down when they were installed. I saved on my heating and cooling costs. I had a problem with one of my windows cracking and I called them and told them what happened, they replaced the window with no questions asked. That is what I call service.

Carpet Installation
Home Depot showed up eager to work. There were three men to do the job. We were impressed that they only took two breaks which was great for a full day of work. Unfortunately we have had to call them three times already to remove the wrinkles from the carpet. We paid a lot of money for that crappy work.

Siding Service
They quoted us a price of $8000 and they didn t stick to it. We were not pleased with them and how they handled the final cost. They were very unprofessional when dealing with us. We were uncomfortable with all of the hidden cost. The quality of work was good and the siding looked great, but it was not worth it for all of the trouble they have put us through with the price.

I had a very bad experience with them and will never ever use them again for anything. When they came out they had mis-measured our counters and ordered the wrong materials. I was blamed for the mis-calculations and the people were very rude.

We expected them to hold up to the service contract we had and to know what they were doing. They were to hook up the dishwasher and haul the old one away. We paid $200 for that contract and the plumber couldn t even get the fittings to connect so he told us someone else would have to come back out. He was supposed to have secured the pipe, but instead he shoved paper towels in them. We didn t notice a problem until it was to late and it had flooded our sub flooring in the kitchen, living room and dining room. So needless to say we had to have all of that replaced.

They came on time and the guys were friendly and very polite. They moved all of my furniture to pull up the old carpeting. They did a good job, but in one area the carpet buckled so they came back out and stretched it for me.

They did a really good job with our beautifully installed carpet. They showed great respect towards our family and our home. The job was completed in record time and we were very pleased with our new carpet.
