I contacted Flooring RVA for an estimate after attempting a botched DIY laminate flooring installation. There was some difficulty receiving a callback in the very beginning, but I was also under extreme time constraints since my living room was in pieces and I work from home so my expectations were not entirely realistic. I was contacted the second business day and provided an estimate the third business day, and work was mostly completed on the fourth and fifth business day after first contact. I am thrilled with the professionalism of the crew and the work performed. They showed up on time and got right to work. The living room and hallway were completed in a little over four hours and the final result is beautiful. There is no way I could have achieved this on my own and I am very happy I reached out to Robert and his team. Will definitely hire again when I am ready to replace the flooring in the bedrooms.

Robert, the owner of FlooringRVA, was personable and quick to respond to my initial inquiry about getting new flooring installed in our home. As this is our first house, we looked at reviews for flooring companies to gauge other people's experiences. Based on the good reviews, we chose to work with FlooringRVA. Robert quickly assessed our needs and scheduled a time for a crew to do a two-day removal of old carpet and installation of new flooring. The crew came on the scheduled day and completed the process within the two-day timeframe; this all occurred between two busy holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas). Unfortunately, the finished product left us less than satisfied. First: a closet door (solid wood) was broken during installation and left in one of the upstairs bathrooms. Robert took a conciliatory approach and adjusted our final bill to include our cost of replacing the door. This really wasn't a big deal; we understand that mistakes can happen. There were a few places that the carpet was not sealed/tacked down on the stairs. This left major gaps between the carpet and wood underneath. This was, again, another cosmetic fix that was addressed almost immediately before we settled our final bill. We moved in to our new house at the end of the year (2016). Our flooring has progressively gotten louder and uneven: constant squeaks can be heard wherever you walk on the newly installed floor. You can feel nails popping-up from the subflooring into the carpet. This tells me that nails weren't re-secured after the old carpeting was removed and no attention was paid to it before laying over new carpet on top of the floor. The laminate floor bows (pops-up) as you walk on it. There are small gaps between laminate boards; borders between laminate and carpet, and laminate molding, are becoming unsealed (nails popping up; molding wasn't affixed to the walls, it was just put in place) in four months of usage. I don't have confidence that the flooring will last as long as we had expected. I contacted Robert via email (late December & March) with no response to my concerns and later by phone (March), with a brief response but no follow-up conversation or action. We're first time homebuyers. This flooring was a major expense for us. Having spent time in the house before we bought it, we know the floors were not in poor shape (no squeaks; no unevenness). In other words, I do not think the job was the best that could have been done for the significant cost. We had high hopes working with FlooringRVA and wish that it could have ended with a more satisfactory result. We'd gladly revisit this review if concerns were addressed and flooring issues were resolved. As it stands now, almost exactly 4 months after installation, the work has not stood the test of daily living.

Once I paid the money, I had to reach out to them to find out when they would be coming to install. The installers came and completed the job but broke a piece of furniture and never said anything. Only four days after install a corner piece of the carpet wasn't ever nailed down and has curled up and looks horrible. I sent pics to the owner who took almost 3 days to respond without so much as an apology. He just said he would contact me to get it fixed. This was now a week ago and still have not heard anything back from him!

I happen to be out of town & responded upon my return that I would get you a date for the repair. Within 2 weeks of you contacting us about the repair we had it addressed. This is usually what our timeline runs for new installs and/or repairs. Actually the day you posted this review my sales rep, Elijah, had scheduled the repair for that Friday. I would like to address the situation with the picture holder (furniture) being damaged during carpet instalaltion. Flooring RVA was never made aware of any damage done to your home or belongings during or after installation. We even followed up after installation & you stated everything looked great. The first time we heard of this picture holder being broken was during your review here a month after installation. Immediately upon me being made aware of this I asked where you purchased it from, went to the link you provided & had it shipped immediately to your home. I also followed up to make certain you received the shipment once I received confirmation from FedEx. I then followed that email with a formal apology including all your warranty information for your Mohawk Embrace carpet. I mentioned in the email that I would hope us addressing your small repair & replacing your picture holder would change your outlook on Flooring RVA. I had previously called 2 other companies before finding Flooring RVA. One was way overpriced and the other would never return my calls or emails! I needed my floors done while we were going to be out of town for Thanksgiving and didn't think it was possible until I met Robert! Not only did he get it done, but was done a day early!! He was in contact with me the whole time so I knew what was going on and when. Everyone was excellent to work with and my floors look BEAUTIFUL!! I would highly recommend!!

Jonathan was extremely patient and kind with me even though I was probably driving him crazy with questions. The installers were incredibly kind and respectful and did an AMAZING job!!! They even added padding underneath my commercial grade carpet - this is going to make a HUGE, positive difference for practitioners who stand all day long!
