Overall everything was done as expected. I am more than satisfied with the company and installation. I had several quotes much lower but didn't offer to cut through an add-on brick wall so the add on could be insulated as well as my screened in porch. They also arranged to help me get a complete AC/Heat Pump upgrade. The goal was to get rid of oil. The first year my utilities dropped over $2500 dollars. I certainly would recommend the product and company.

I saw the advertisement for a free home energy assessment at a home-a-rama show in Va Beach. I knew I needed additional insulation in my attic so I thought I would take advantage of the offer to see what else could be done to improve the energy efficiency of my home. My home is 20 years old. The energy assessment I was given was a joke compared to the one I just had from Ecovative of Virginia. They did not do a blower door test to check for air infiltration. He looked in the attic to determine how much insulation would be required and checked a door glass and window to show me the temperature. Then he did a demo to show me what the eshield attic barrier does, checked my electric bills, and gave me tips on where homeowners tipically experience air infiltration. He showed me they guaranteed a minimum of 25% savings in heating and cooling in the first year. Needless to say I have not seen that kind of savings. He was really only interested in selling products. When they done the work, one of the workers stepped through my cieling and didn't bother to come tell me. I called the company and they said that happens and they would fix it. I insisted it be fixed before they left that day. I had to call them back to tell them the repair was unacceptable and they sent a company out that specializes in dry wall work. It is still not the best but it is better than what they had left it that first day. The company gave me a fire place insert for the inconvenience but didn't come install it. I called them and they said it was so simple I could do it myself. When Ecovative did my energy assessment this month, they couldn't put it in either and asked if EShield measured my fireplace before sending me the product. They did not and they didn't even look inside the fireplace insert to ensure it would work. I would never do business with them again or recommend them to anyone.

Based on what the Department of Energy has said, most all homes have over 40% of heat gain and heat loss occurring through the attic. eShield is a revolutionary multi-layer reflective insulation specifically designed for residential use. When combined with our blown in insulation, this is the best defense for keeping the heat in during the winter season, and keeping the heat out during the hotter months. eShield does carry a 25% Energy Savings Pledge which states "eShield Attic Energy Barrier pledges to the original purchaser a first year savings of at least 25% up to $500 on energy cost relating to heating and cooling their home". As we cannot control the ever rising cost of energy, the guarantee is based on a reduction of kilowatt usage as well as gas and/or oil consumption. When conducting thousands of jobs annually, accidents will happen like someone slipping and their foot coming through the ceiling, we are all human. The important thing to remember is all homeowners are 100% protected from any property damage or any of our workers getting hurt on the homeowners property. We carry a $1 million workman's comp and general liability insurance policy just for this purpose."
