The folks at Door to Door were easy to communicate with and responsive. Nothing got lost in translation even though they were liaising throughout the process with my mom and me, and answering questions from both of us.
On packing day they showed up on time and were well prepared. Their staff was friendly, helpful, careful and hard working. Everyone was polite and very flexible as we had decisions to make "on the fly" during the move process itself.
The staff - both the packers and the movers - seemed particularly well attuned to the specific needs and concerns of a senior citizen. When packing my Mom, they were very considerate of her attachment to certain things and took extra care to re-assure her that her special belongings were being securely packed and transported. On the unpacking end, they are very patient with helping her arrange things "just so" and try alternatives without making her feel like a pest or as if she were being rushed. We really felt they were there to support us and help her settle in comfortably.
I am a Realtor by profession so I am intimately familiar with the stress of moving. Door to Door removed a lot of this stress for my mom with their professionalism and excellence. I would, and will, recommend them to others without reservation!
Out of curiosity, I started reading my old reviews and was shocked to see the response from Door to Door.
I was floored to read their response.
I may not have all the money in the world, but the few nice pieces of furniture that I do have mean a lot to me.
I had a 3-piece collection with my bookcase, my filing cabinet and my night stand all matching and all made of wood.
Door to Door did return with another option...an ugly beat up, 2-drawer METAL thing.
With all due respect, what they tried to give me was a piece of crap...if they really wanted to make me happy, all I wanted was a nice, matching pair of furniture to use in my small apt. I don't have a lot of furniture but the furniture that I do have, I'm very proud of.
They just wanted to save the money. If they had done their research, I'm sure that they could have found some other decent furniture.
As far as I was considered, the METAL thing was so crappy, I was really too embarrassed to have it in my apt.
Door to Door should have been ashamed of themselves.
They're very expensive and to me, just not worth it!!!
Yes, they did all those services but my parents paid them very, very well.

Consequently, we are so sorry [member name removed]was unhappy with the myriad of things we did for her and are disapointed that we could not fnd a resolution that was satisfactory. Our goal is ALWAYS to help reduce the stress and workload for our clients, not create it. We worked tirelessly to please [member name removed]. We even cleaned up a lot of cat waste all over the apartment she moved from as well as helped her to move her cat, load her car, and many other things we willingly do for clients when they are moving. The piece in question that was damaged was a file cabinet. We replaced it with another like cabinet. We appreciate and respect all comments and constructive feedback. Thank you."
