This company is a scam. They were sent by AHS, which is also a scam company. I paid $100 Co pay to have them say our leak in the toilet tank came from an impact. Total bull. Wanted an additional $425 to replace toilet. I had a great plumber do it for $225. This company is the worst.

I have used Discount Contractors for plumbing for many years. They have always been a pleasure to work with. The staff has always been a pleasure to work with. They are good at what they do, pleasant, and clean up after themselves. I highly recommend them. Their prices have always been fair also.

I had a very good experience with Heather explaining my bathtub plumbing issue and what she did to correct it. However, when she left I went to use my bathtub and a different issue arose. I am certain it is a matter of tightening up something. I called the office less than 15min after Heather left. The way the office has handled my concern is DEPLORABLE!! I was spoken to like I was an idiot. When I tried to explain my concern, they kept repeating the same answer which had nothing to do with my issue. REFUSED to come back without another work order (which requires me to block off at least 4 hours of my day waiting for their arrival) and REUSED to give me any contact information any higher than an office manager to discuss my concern.

If you ever need plumbing services Discount Contractors is the way to go. Water was backing up into my home and I assumed it was a toilet leak. I wasn't quite certain as to where these large amounts of water that would flow from the bathroom to my kitchen was coming from. Heather of Discounted Contractors showed up prompt, punctual and ready to go! She is not only professional but extremely knowledgeable. Heather was able to quickly diagnose the problem which turned out to be a mainline stoppage. She was able to clear it out. I am extremely appreciative and satisfied with the service that I received today.

Hello, I left a negative review previously and in all fairness the company did return and repair my issue. If they had only addressed my concerns I had on their initial visit I wouldn't have dealt with this issue for over a week.

Discount Contractors were able to respond to my request from AHS very quickly. They communicated with me regularly as to when they would arrive. Dillon did a great job finding and fixing the problem. He even made sure that AHS would cover the dry wall patch that was needed. Before he left he explained everything that was done and had documented everything with pictures too for reference. I was very pleased with the work and was glad that I ignored the negative reviews for this company that had been posted a few years ago.

I have American Home Shield. My contract with them state, they will fix it and if they can not fix, it will be replace. Discount want me to paid them directly $225 and sign a false statement. Saying the line was broken, but it wasn't. I asked American to not send them again and they did.

I have hired discount contractors 3-4 times in the past 3 years for different plumbing jobs through American home shield and they are very good at what they do. They are always on time and get the job done in a reasonable amount of time. If there are any problems the explain exactly what the problems are and make sure you understand what's wrong. If it is a problem that they can't fix because of problems with let's say tile or subfloor interfering with fixing the problem they recommend someone to come in and fix it for you.

Repairman was completely clueless on how an ejector pump worked. Then he broke the chain used to pull the pump up out of the tank. Then he said it was my responsibility to get the pump out of the tank for him to look at. Then he left and Discount Contractors sent me a bill even though I had American Home Shield warranty and they sent him out. Horrible experience. Pathetic plumber. DO NOT USE DISCOUNT CONTRACTORS!

Unit resides in a HVAC closet as it always has. They do not want to do the work so they said they can't install without us spending a lot of unnecessary money to retrofit the closet. EVERY OTHER CONTRACTOR including James River said it is fine, "why would they say that". Perhaps they are not capable of the work but to expect me to spend upwards of $1000 dollars to have things move that have passed inspection is insane. Perhaps they are not skilled at plumbing or perhaps they are not happy to have to do work while contracted through AHS. All I have to say, is they have costs me money as I must go to another contractor because they make the home warranty useless and created a problem that does not exist. If you don't use them through home warranty maybe they won't fabricate issues that do not exist but I think they would make up other stuff to make you pay more. My opinion.

This company was dispatched by our home warranty firm, American Home Shield. We prepaId the required $125 Service Fee that was supposed to cover all our costs under the home warranty. Immediately upon arrival, one of the 2 plumbers said he needed to check our water pressure from our outdoor faucet and said that it was too high (72 psi) and was the cause of our leaks. This seemed suspicious, since they hadn't yet even stepped in the house to see our leaky faucets. The lead plumber told me they would have to add a pressure regulator and would have to bypass our AHS warranty and directly charge us $525. They then came inside and told me the faucet leaks and toilet repairs would likewise be outside the bounds of the AHS warranty and would cost an additional $325, for a grand total of $850. They never looked at the toilet or master bath sink. Realizing that, in my opinion, these plumbers were running a 'bait and switch' scam, I politely declined to proceed with their quote. After they left without doing any work, I called AHS to issue a compliant and to cancel my warranty; unfortunately, they couldn't credit the $125, saying that fee goes directly to the plumber and is supposed to cover all the work to be done. I subsequently checked several plumbing websites and determined that our current water pressure should be within acceptable limits for a residence.
Response from Discount Contractors
"Mr. [Member Name Removed], I do apologize for your inconvenience and experience. Unfortunately when it comes to a home warranty, our hands are a little tied. Their contracts are written very iron clad. Per AHS guidlines, pressure to fixtures in your home should be 50-60 PSI (in fact this is also what many manufactures advise as well. Once a pressure issue is found, per AHS we are not to fix any leaks that are pressure related. While I understand your frustration about the service fee, that is NOT the contractors money. That is the service fee that AHS charges for the service to be rendered. Recently to help ease this confussion, AHS has begun to collect their service fees themselves before a work order is made. If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to contact our office. We do appreciate your feedback and hope that we can provide you better experience in the future. Kind Regards, Discount Contractors LLC."

Brie made my appointment on Monday for Wednesday morning between 8-12. Tony and Mel arrived and took off their shoes to walk sock-footed in my house which is appreciated. Both gentlemen were courteous and professional, measuring carefully, making notes and taking photos. Unfortunately, a DC rep was unable to return our two phone calls to answer follow up questions regarding the loss of access to shutoffs in our utility room due to the size of the new heater that Tony mentioned, so we requested the AHS cash in lieu (CIL) option and contracted with another plumber, which also gave us hot water sooner. An odd point to note is that the out-of-pocket amount (the non-covered things like extra parts DC said they needed) DC gave me was higher than the amount AHS gave me, an error which I could have resolved with AHS had I hired them.

I have a home warranty through American Home Shield. I had four plumbing leaks that needed to be fixed. They sent Discount Contractors. Since they were here when I wash my hands in the master bathroom the soap comes through the overflow and the drain stopper fits so tight it takes forever for the sink to drain.

The guest bathroom sink still leaks and because of something they did we have no water pressure in the kitchen sink. I have called Discount Contractors and America Home Shield repeatedly, they will not return my calls. I send emails every day asking for someone to call me but they will not respond.

"(member name removed), I do apologize for your inconvenience. I know myself how frustrating the delay is with no hot water. Unfortunately our hands are sometimes tied with Home Warranties as they provide the water heaters to us. We do try our best to get them installed as expeditiously as possible once available. I am glad to hear that the work was done well! If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to give our office a call. Kind Regards, Discount Contractors"

This contractor was great!  We were able to schedule the repair quickly, he came exactly when he was supposed to.  And called first to let us know he was on the way!  He not only fixed our toilet, but he went over and above and revamped a couple of things that were needed and gave it a basic overhaul.  It is working great and better than it ever worked before.  He was nice and friendly and very knowledgeable about what we needed.  We will definitely call Discount Contractors for all of our plumbing needs.

Tony and Rae showed up on time and were one of the most professional contractors I have ever used. They were able to diagnose my problem very quickly and repair within minutes. Both were very polite and awesome representatives of the company. I will use this company again should I ever need a plumber!

It took 3 months++ to complete the repair on my bathroom sink. Sink not operable for 3 months in primary bathroom. Required opening hole in wall in dining room to get to pipe. Opening in wall remains uncovered..has not been repaired yet..unable to use my dining room for 3 months. Had to return 4x to repair the toilet..each time was told it was repaired. After and quot;finaland quot; repair to bathroom sink, I have just had to call them back again as the part is not working. They have not responded back as yet. Very frustrated with service.
Repairs covered by my home warranty which is why the very low price.

I was put in touch with Discount Contractors through my HomeShield warranty protection - part of the negotiated terms for purchase of my new home. Well, the water heater began leaking in the garage just before Thanksgiving - a rusted-out bottom. Discount Contractors was first available per my time table and did a fantastic job. They did not enter the house once, preferring to not track dirt through but instead work directly from the driveway and garage. Their first visit was to confirm what I told the warranty folks - that I have a leaking water heater - and take measurements for a replacement tank. I wanted to increase the capacity of the new tank, so they made sure that was a possibility without having to add additional costs above and beyond coverage (i.e. for new piping into the house). They returned the next day to perform the work. They removed the leaking tank for disposal and went about installing the new tank. I learned a couple things while I watched the master plumber, Tony, perform his job. All told it took about 90 minutes from start to finish. I will definitely contact Discount Contractors and request Tony for future plumbing needs.

I was very happy with Tony (the plumber) and Danny (the carpenter). When we discovered the leak in the upstairs bathroom we called them. Tony gave a reasonable estimate and worked with us cost wise. My entire bathroom needed a new floor. I also asked Tony if he could change the toilet rings in 2 other bathrooms and we discovered these toilets were leaking into the floor also (we bought the house 2 years ago). Our insurance didn't cover the leaks (even though it wasn't our fault and we had no way of knowing about them). Hence why Tony worked with us price wise. I am very pleased with the finished results (I had new toilets put in, 2 bathrooms got new vinyl floor,2 bathrooms got painted, and all 3 got new trim)and I even recommended them to a co-worker.
