I have never had a bad experience with this practice. I trust Dr. Zucarro's judgement and expertise advise when making decisions regarding my pets health. Four of my dogs started at Brook Run as puppies and the fifth came as a 4 year old rescue. He has taken care of them most of their lives. Cost of routine care has gone up through the years, but is within an acceptable range. Illnesses can get a little pricey (blood work, medicines, etc.), but that is the case anywhere.

Dr. Zucarro has been treating our pets for 12 years. He and his staff are always kind and professional. We would not use anyone else.

Our experience with them has been just wonderful. Dr. Michael Zuccaro is the vet there. It's probably going to be $600 for our recent visit. When we left them, they had to have x-rays done and they have to get some clearances. Then they will tell us; so it's going to be pricey. I have been going to them for many years. Dr. Zuccaro might know that I am a little strained in my budget because I have been going there for so long. I know there were times when Michael adjusted my rates when we were going through some hard time. He is a good catholic boy. He is a good, kind, caring and loving person. He is very smart. One of our dogs had pulled his toenail off on a Saturday. My dog was bleeding, limping around and was in pain. They have hours until noon on a Saturday. It was about 11:30 when this happened and it was the day before Easter. So, I called and they said they would see. They went and talked to Michael to tell him who it was. So, he told me to bring my dog over and he said he would wait for me. He did wait; he treated and wrapped it up. I really appreciated him. I told him that all his bills had gone home. He really cares. We have Boykin Spaniels and they are not a well known breed. He has educated himself about the breeds. So, he can treat my dogs and do the job. He is the veterinarian for Maymont Park which is a park in Richmond. There are wild animals and domestic animals there. It's a wildlife park and he is their vet. If you find an injured bird, you can take it to him and he will help.

When our oldest dog was sick and dying Dr. Z got down and did his diagnosis with her on the floor rather than subject her to lifting to the table. When she passed away we got a card from Dr.Z that made us cry. He does a lot of pro bono work with the local shelters. Here is a vet that is truly passionate about his work and patients.

They are a little high I think but they are friendly. My dog is comfortable going here and that beats having to drag him in the door like I have had to in the past at other places. They also have a cozy waiting room that doesn't smell like a barn.

Dr. Zuccaro is a wonderful doctor. He was especially caring when we had to put down our 14 year old mixed breed. His staff is also excellent. He recently built a very nice facility next door to the old building. I would and have referred many of my friends to his clinic.
