My air conditioning unit was not blowing cold air. Art replaced the air conditioning return hose and recharged the system. Also, my front passenger door would not unlock. Art removed the door panel and determined that debris was restricting the proper working of the locking mechanism. He cleaned out the debris and restored the door lock's functionality.

I also have had them work on son's car. I think they are real fair and they called back when they said they were going to give it back. It is a small, mom-and-pop business; it looks like the husband, wife, son and four or five other automotive technicians work there. Their pricing is very competitive.

I found them to be AAA approved. He is usually pretty accurate about what needs to be done for my automobile on diagnosis. He is fairly quick in getting the automobile back to me. He does it right the first time. Sometimes he takes a little longer because they do have a lot of customers.

I've had my car for seven years. During that time it would sometimes not start (the starter would not turn). Sometimes the starter would turn but the car still wouldn't start. At other times the car would suddenly stall out. It would usually start right back up but sometimes it wouldn't. This could happen around twice a week. Usually within 5 minutes or so it would start up. On two occasions, it wouldn't start no matter what I tried or how long I waited. On these occasions I had the car towed to a garage. But when the mechanics looked it over they could find nothing wrong with it (it would start right up for them). I looked up AAA approved garages and found Art's was the closest one to me. I took it there and he worked through the problems. It has run perfectly since then. I'm delighted.

As usual, the problem with the car was diagnosed accurately and repaired properly. This is always the experience I have at Art's Auto. The repairs are always done right the first time. My husband has given up on his dealership, and its "hit or miss" method of repairs, and just brings his vehicle in to Art's now, too.

Pretty uneventful, which I expect from a car service experience. I called up Art's. Sue was able to give me my chosen date even though it was three days before the big move. Called to let me know what was discovered during the annual inspection and to get my okay to proceed. Car was available at the agreed upon time although I decided to buy over the phone to accommodate my work schedule. All good.

When I first went to Art's I almost missed the shop because it is kind of small. I've driven past it many times and never really noticed it on Staples Mill between Broad and I-64. I explained the a/c did not seem as cold, the fan was not blowing as hard and the engine was making a funny noise when the a/c was on. He checked the car and said the compressor was fine, but it was low on freon, (which would make the a/c not work as well), and a motor mount was cracked, which would cause the engine to make a strange noise. He said he could fix it all for about $300. So he fixed everything, it all works great, and it was only about $300! Which is a lot better than the $1,200 estimate that was given for a new compressor by another shop! I noticed that Art's had a "AAA" Seal of Approval Sign hanging in his shop and those are only given to shops that meet the high standards of AAA. I'm glad I discovered this little gem of an auto repair shop. Try It!
