ALWAYS RELIABLE MOVING

My father was being moved from an assisted living facility to a memory care facility. All items from his room at the assisted living facility were removed and some of the items were taken to his new room in a memory care facility and then the remaining items were taken to his spouse's home. The move was not what I would consider 'normal' and the employees needed to wait for access to the areas, etc. I felt they were uncomfortable working around the residents at both facilities ~ trying not to focus on the residents but solely on the items being moved. It appeared to be a new experience for them.

It went excellent. They were very professional, puncutal and all the above I would use them again in the future and recommend to others.

I'm really surprised to see the other reviews of this company on Angie's List as our experience with them was very good. They were referred to us by a relative that had also used them and found them good to work with. I left a message late the Friday before the week of our move to request a quote and received a call back from the owner early Monday morning. They gave me a quote over the phone based on my description of the amount of stuff we had to move, and their quote for a 4-man crew was $85/hour less than one of the other top-ranked movers on Angie's List; they didn't waste my time by wanting to come out to look at our stuff to estimate. They start all jobs between 9 and 9:30 in the morning, and the crew (Shawn, Patrick, Mike and Elyas) showed up right at 9:15 and got straight to work. They were all very pleasant, amiable and professional in their packing and handling, and the entire time they made sure that even if 2 were taking a quick break, the other 2 continued to work--in fact, I wasn't even sure they HAD taken a break, so constant was the stream of stuff going into and out of the truck. When we got to the new house, they put down blankets to protect our wood floors and were very careful to avoid scraping the walls. They put back together everything they had taken apart, cleaned up behind themselves and were done in the timeframe I had been quoted. I think some of the negative reviews on here were from people that didn't estimate the amount of stuff they had or understand the standard practices of moving companies very well. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. The last time we had moved we went with a different company and had a very negative experience--these guys restored my faith in professional, local movers.

We were quoted a price over the phone but then realized on the day they started that that didn't include insurance. We were assured that insurance probably wasn't necessary and that nothing would get damaged. I saw with my own eyes as they dropped our TV trays off the back of the truck and scratched our table but then acted surprised when I asked them what they were going to do about it. We filled out a damage waiver and not to our surprise, never heard anything from them.

We've moved a lot, and Always Reliable Movers were neither the worst movers we've had nor the best. They took much longer than they estimated they would, which, since it was a local move and charged on an hourly basis, meant it cost more than the estimate. They finished at 11:30pm on a Sunday night, which was painful. They had to make two trips because the truck wasn't big enough to hold all of our stuff as they'd thought it would be, but they didn't charge us for the travel time going back to the old house the second time. Nothing was broken or damaged (other than a teacup) and the workers were courteous. We told Terrance at the end of the move that they were not the best or the worst movers we'd ever had and he seemed satisfied with that. He said, "As long as we're not the worst." If you don't mind using a company that doesn't care to improve, then Always Reliable Movers might work for you.

Everything went fine. They were prompt and got the job done quickly.

They were very careful. This comes apart for the move and then once you've moved it you put it back together. There is a heavy piece that goes on top and they were very careful to get this placed properly and correctly. They were very courteous and polite, very nice to deal with.
