I have to say, Bob is one of the most amazing people I have met. He's extremely professional and responsive. He has gone far and above the call of duty. For example, my husband and I were looking to purchase a house while we were living in another country. Since we weren't able to visit it ourselves and were debating between two, he actually went with the real estate agent and provided a lengthy review of the positives and negatives of each property. In addition, we had a perfect storm of mishaps that threatened our financing. Each time, and there were many, he was able to provide alternatives and fixes. He is truly hands on, and you can tell that he is passionate about his work. I would highly recommend him and his company to anyone looking for a loan.

Bob and his team were excellent in helping me navigate the sometimes confusing waters of refi.  They were incredibly responsive to my calls or emails and explained exactly what I needed to do each step along the way.  And when any hurdles cropped up, they were proactive in helping to find solutions to meet my refinancing needs.

This was hands down the best experience we've had securing a home loan in 21 years and five different home purchases (we're a military family), to include both VA and conventional loans. From start (applying for our home loan and offering on our home 12 May 14) to finish (closing on our home 18 Jun 14), Bob patiently walked us through the process every step of the way. He got us the best possible rate with a VA loan and then helped us and the sellers negotiate some of the challenges associated with VA loans. He promptly answered questions and sent us examples for anything we found confusing. When we made the offer he suggested we write a letter to the sellers telling them why we loved their home and gave us a copy of his own letter from his recent home purchase as an example. According to the Seller's Agent our letter was the reason we got the house. There were five other offers and reportedly one or more higher than ours. He also provided suggested letters for explanations or waivers we needed for our loan. When we went to our banks (USAA and Pentagon Federal) to secure our down payment, they were amazed at how soon we had our HUD (Friday before following Wednesday closing). They said most folks were scrambling the day prior to or of the closing. Bob was also there at closing to make sure everything went well, which it did thanks to Bob and his team at Rosenbaum Lending Group. Bottom line: we would absolutely use the Rosenbaum Lending Group again for future home purchases. We couldn't have been more pleased with their service.

We had originally looked into refinancing a year ago when interest rates first started to go down. Unfortunately, my husband's credit rating wasn't quite high enough, but Bob recommended a great resource to help. After following the recommended steps over the course of about 6 months, his credit score went up significantly. (The original score was due to inaccuracies on the part of the credit bureau). So, we were finally able to qualify for a lower interest rate. One call to Bob and everything was set in motion.
We went from 4.75% to 3.75% on a 30-year fixed mortgage, saving us more than $400/month!

This was not my first home purchase, but I had never purchased a home in Virginia before and things do work differently here.  And times have changed.  I did some homework and some shopping around with respect to the services I would need to buy a home.  Whereas it had never occurred to me in the past to use a mortgage lender who was not a bank or credit union, I included FIrst Portfolio (found through Angie's list) in my initial list of potential lenders.  Ultimately, I selected Bob and his team to help me purchase my home and am very glad that I did.
The interest rate offered by First Portfolio was competitive.  As I was able to take advantage of an Angie's List coupon for $750 credit upon closing, the final closing cost ($215) was better than that of other lenders I investigated.  Of perhaps equal import - which a new homebuyer may not appreciate beforehand - is how accessible Bob is.  Unlike your typical bank, Bob is reachable outside of 9 - 5 (or 8 - 3 or whatever bank business hours are).  My needs, questions and concerns were addressed very promptly.  If my memory serves, I called him on a Saturday to request a lender letter for a home I was interested in, and had the letter within minutes.  Once I had an accepted offer from a seller, things moved very quickly.  Bob works with colleague and loan processor Kuntri to do the tons of paperwork.  He let me chose a settlement company, although I ended up selecting a company that he recommended.  We closed in just under a month.  Note that my realtor, who has many years of experience buying and selling homes in this area, had never worked with First Portfolio before (and was thus wary of my choice) but was very happy with how everything went.
My experience with Bob/First Portfolio was overall a very positive one.  I strongly recommend him.  The subsequent mortgage loan transfer did not go as smoothly as it should have, but that would not keep me from employing the company's services in the future should I need to relocate.

I completely recommend working with Robert! He sought out ways to maximize the benefits of my VA loan - he could not have done a better job handling my loan/paperwork/experience. He took the initiative to do all he could to find me the best rate possible. And on top of that, he is personable.   This was my first home buying experience, and I will go back to Robert for my second.

Bob even accompanied me to my closing for any last minute questions. Overall, the best mortgage lender that I have ever met! He is very professional and trustworthy.

After the initial face to face meeting with Mr. Robert Rosenbaum to determine whether it was appropriate for me to refinance,  everything we did thereafter was done electronically or by telephone. Bob and his team worked with us to meet a very short turnaround time, so we could win a bidding war for our house.  He made the whole process happen in less than 30 days, where my bank (where I have been a member for years) said it could not even guarantee 60 days!  Even better, Bob beat their rates by a substantial margin, both the fixed costs and the interest rate.  it is no exaggeration to say we have our home today because of Bob and his team.

I had always thought obtaining a mortgage was a complicated process, but after working with their team, I realized that I should have done it years ago. They responded within hours with a review of my application (which was also a simple process) and I was pre-approved shortly after (once some documentation was sent). They participated in the negotiation process with the seller to resolve any of their concerns about the loan, and I am certain that if I did not have this lender, I would not have been able to purchase the home.

Bob was fantastic. We got a home loan for our first house in Annapolis, MD. He talked me through all my questions quickly and easily. He was available at literally any time of the day, on weekends, through email, phone, and even a few times we talked while he was at a bus stop somewhere in California. We did a VA home loan and he knew the ins and outs of the VA process better than we could have expected. We had a few twists and he worked through them effortlessly (at least from my perspective!).
