As expected, my experience at PR At Partners last night was a hit! I will add photos ASAP.

Once again, I loved the cut & color from Shaina, who used a new helper for the application of color and shampoo. Her name is Whitney and her touch was gentle but also relaxing with a nice scalp and head massage.

One big plus for the PR At Partners Salon is the shampoo bowls include RECLINING MASSAGE CHAIRS! I could have stayed there forever! No more uncomfortable shampoo bowls that hurt your neck. Oh no -- these are top of the line, relaxing, comfortable reclining chairs with a massage effect that goes all the way up and down your back!

As you can see, she's very lovely with a beautiful smile. PLUS she has a friendly, bright, cheerful personality.

I liked Winston, my stylist from the first. He listens well and is enthusiastic. The salon is busy and pretty noisy. A separate person washes your hair, so double tipping. The B is that I have super edgy hair, and it's taking a bit of time to get the idea to stick that I don't want a 'normal' suburban cut...I want an edgy, extreme cut. On the other hand, better safe than sorry...and I think that's what he's doing until he gets to know me better. His cuts are very good and the color too. However, after years of coloring my own hair overseas...I can do just about as good - not as good - but just about. So I'm nixing the color and keeping the cutter. I'm pretty demanding, so I'd give this place an A compared to most. It's just a B for me as of yet. I think we'll get to an A soon.

Shannon is my and quot;seniorand quot; stylist -- asks what I do, how much time I have, how the last cut worked long before we start cutting. She's adjusted the time in my profile to reflect how long my appointments really need to be instead of rushing me through.
She let my first appointment take the time it takes and adjusted her next appointment to accommodate mine taking longer than anticipated and didn't make me feel rushed.
Not a huge fan of all the receptionists, some have been snotty, but this visit reception was polite.

The one stylist I go to does a good job.

They are good about talking with me about what I want and then really giving it to me. I have been to one of the ladies a few times, she is starting to know what I want. It always turns out really well.

I read the reviews and spoke with the person who answered the phone. Everything was fine and I really looked forward to a good professional cut. Kristen was selected for me because she had a cancellation and I needed a hair cut. I arrived 5 minutes early and they plunked me down right in front of Kristen, who was still styling her previous customer's hair. She jerked visibly at the announcement, whispered by the attendant who brought me in, that I was there. Well I WAS right there, in front of her. Kristen never turned around, never acknowledged my presence, never made eye contact with me. I was crunched on a bench and asked to fill out a form where it became obvious more products would be tried on me for me to buy. OK. I can live with that. But in the 15 minutes, now 10 minutes late for my appointment...which is OK....IF Kristen had simply acknowledged my presence...I felt old. avoided....I AM older, 54 and I have grey hair, although only here and there. I am overweight, but I have curves. Kristen was intent for over 15 minutes on a huge shock of healthy young hair she was tending and that was fine. Her customer deserves all of her attention. Except that I was waiting, very close by, for something. ANYTHING from her to at least let me know she was interested in her next customer. Did she even KNOW I was there...inches from her??? When I finished filling out the form, I tried to hand it in but Kristen still never turned around. I tried to hand it in to the front desk. They redirected me to Kristen who never once turned around. So I sat on the bench, getting waves of hot air from the dryer STILL being worked into her young customer's hair. I read a magazine, from cover to cover and nothing. No acknowledgement that I even existed. It was now 6:55, my appointment was at 645. Finally, this invisible woman got up from the invisible bench and took her invisible form and left. It was now 7:05 a full 20 minutes after my appointment was due. Caused a little ruckus leaving but hey!!! don't pay any attention to my little old self...I am invisible. I called them back and explained what Kristen did. And then I hung up. I will never go to PR Partners again. Kristen, someday will feel the sting of her years too. And when she does, perhaps she will remember how she made me feel. All I would have liked, expected a professional to do is to acknowledge my arrival briefly, courteously and I would have been fine.

The story is that I was completely satisfied walking out of the salon, and Jana's cut and color hold well afterward when I style it myself. My kids look current with their hair also. I peeked at other patrons and noticed that other stylists performed excellent work also.

I thought that since this company does a survey that the stylist would listen to what I asked for this time. But I asked for long layers and I got a Mom cut with really short layers in the front, she kept it long in the back so I called it a reverse mullet. The people are nice but the salon is not laid out well and there is no waiting room. I had about 3 haircuts here and always had to wait. I also think this haircut was overpriced. I found another salon that is cutting my hair like I've always wanted it cut and wont' be going back here.

Aja does a great job. I am often asked who cuts my hair. Without hesitation I recommend Aja.

This is a great outfit. When you go in for the first time, you fill out a comprehensive survey and meet with a stylist/designer to discuss your likes and dislikes. They LISTEN. I've tried I don't know how many salons in the NoVa area, and this is the best. I love what they do with my hair.
