I'm the homeowner. I make the decisions. Approved by HOA for a specific window type/color. 15 windows, two sliding doors, 2 garage doors. They insisted my husband be present for decisions on MY HOME. IN MY NAME. Horrible, sexist business. They lost my business. Big mistake. Huge.

In January 2017, I had HomeFix Custom Remodeling (HCR) replace my roof. I went with their Master Elite Roof. I was very impressed by the quality and durability of materials as described by their sales representative. The extra water proofing and special shingles sold me, plus it was rated to last 50 years vs 25 for a normal roof. I am still very happy with my choice. In August of 2019, after a storm, I noticed that one of the roof shingles at the rear edge of my house was lifted up. I called HCR and they were extremely helpful. They had an inspector out within a week. He verified the damage and set forth the process to get it fixed (order replacement shingles, etc.). In August of 2019, they contacted me to see if there were any additional work that I needed done. My house was in need of siding and gutters. Their sale representative did a great job explaining both their offerings in siding and in gutters. In particular, the gutters were impressive as they work together with the roof to form an overall water removal system. The gutter system was much better than what I currently had. My current gutter system had failed in one section and had caused some water damage. HCR took care of the issue completely; fascia board, vented soffit and related materials. I am extremely happy with HCR. Their professionalism and knowledge sold me. I would consider using them again in the future for any related home improvement project.

Hard to find contractors that warranty their work like this. Great service, quality materials. Thanks!

No one showed up for the scheduled estimate. Over the course of a few hours I called their office many times, but no one answered the phone. When I originally scheduled the estimate, they insisted that my husband should also be present. So he took time off work and planned to be home. This was a complete waste of his time and mine. And I've never heard from the company since then.

I requested that someone come and check out some leakage on Friday, Sept 28th. On October 4, 2018 John Robinson came to inspect some leakage in my garage and attic. He did a great job of caulking in areas that leaks appeared. We will see if that does the job. thank you John!!!

They were very responsive and reliable - quick to answer phone calls, emails and even texts; prompt to show up to work every day. Workmen were polite, hard-working, and meticulous with their work and clean-up. I felt from the beginning that I could trust Homefix Remodeling to take care of my mother-in-law and I was right. Written the day after we were sold the roof: Approximately two months ago my husband and I bought our first home! My husband and I were so excited to be taking that next step in our marriage! Prior to purchasing our home we did what most people do and hired a professional home inspector to look at the home we were considering buying. We thought we had struck gold by finding a home with the big three! A new water heater, a new furnace, and a new roof. Our home inspector say we were very lucky to have all three of these items be new. So being a young trusting couple we signed for the house! Homeownership felt so good for a month. I was picking out my outfit for work one morning after getting a ton of rain the few days before I noticed we had a leak in our roof causing a growing wet spot on our ceiling. My heart sank knowing how expensive it would be to fix this problem. First we called the prior owner of the house. Why you ask? Because he is a contractor that flipped the house we now call home. He installed the roof. He informed us that it would be 275 dollars to fix the spot and if that did not fix the problem another 275 dollars to see what else was wrong with it. I cannot began to tell you how cheated and taken advantage of I felt. We paid and trusted someone to look at things we knew nothing about and we got lied to. In summary the roof was not new, and it actually needed to be replaced. We were then tasked with calling every roofing company in northern VA for scheduling estimates. We had a strict budget considering we just put the down deposit on a house. We called various company's all explaining they would not be able to physically come out to my home until the middle of the week and next weekend. We then called a company call HCR and a women named Jenny answer the phone which was nice not to have a recording. She asked what she could do for us and we told her our story (poor Jenny). She was genuinely sympathetic. She asked what a good time was for someone to come out my husband jokingly said tomorrow know from the other companies that this was impossible. She said how about today? Yes, this company was going to send one of the owners of the company out on a Saturday evening to help us. Mike came out right on time and got right to business looking at the leak, looking at our roof, and listening to our story. Mike explained roofing to us in depth and explained all of the things our current roof was missing. He explained what set this company apart from others, for example guaranteeing their roofs for 50 years. After my husband and I talked about it we agreed to going with HCF! Due to my husband and I having so many questions the appointment took longer than normal prompting my husband to throw a pizza in the oven during the course of our conversation! While Mike was filling out our paperwork we asked if he would like a piece of pizza, not seriously thinking he would want to spend any more of his Saturday night with us then he already had, but he said yes. He then had dinner with us after we signed all the papers! Written after the roof was installed: On May 31, 2018 the roof was scheduled to be replaced. We were told installation would take one day and the roofers would be at the house between 7am and 9am in the morning to start work. It was suggested to us that no one be at the house because installation would be so loud. I had schedule my 3 large breed dogs to be kenneled for the day due to them suggesting no one being there during the work. The morning of the 31st my husband left for work and I was planning on taking the dogs to the kennel when the workers got to the house. It was sunny out and 9am came and went. At 10:40 I called the company and left a message on an answering machine inquiring when the workers would be at the house. I was called back approximately 30 minutes later and told they were running behind due to the rain the day before but I was told the workers should be at the house by 1:00pm. 1:00pm came and went and no one called. At 5:40pm the workers arrived at our house. The cloud cover was immense at this point in the day and there was a thunderstorm watch. The men got on the roof and started to remove shingles. At approximately 6:30pm it began to rain very hard, thunder, and lighting. The men worked to attempt to cover what they had already done with tarps. One of the men came to the door and asked if I saw any leaks. Seeing as it had just started raining I did not see anything nor did I expect to see any at that point. The men got in the truck and left. About an hour later someone from HCR called and told me they would be back tomorrow. The next morning the roofers were on the roof working at 7:00am. While I was at work I received a call from a man named Matt saying they found 4,000 dollars of rotten plank wood. It was funny because the vice president only told us the price to replace rotted ply wood not plank wood which is apparently drastically more expensive. I told Matt that I did not want anything replaced without pictures being taken and sent. Matt told me, "sending them over right now". About an hour later Matt called again and told me there was approximately $500 more dollars of rotted ply wood on the back of our house. Again, (not having received pictures yet for the 4,000 dollars’ worth of wood) I said not replace it unless you have taken and sent pictures of the rotten wood due to the condition of the roof being part of a civil court case. The roofers finished our home at 7:00pm on Friday June 1, 2018. June 4, 2018 Michael called my husband inquiring how installation went and my husband told him to call me and provide Michael with my number. Michael told my husband that he would call me that evening. I never recieved a call. We were told in the beginning that our work would be inspected after being installed and we would not pay anything until we signed a paper saying we were satisfied. It is June 24, 2018, and I have not heard a word from the roofing company, but rest assured we have gotten 10 letters from the financing company stating our first payment is due July 1, 2018. Also the interest rate went up to 10% when the additional money from the rotted wood, I never received pictures of, was added to our loan amount. I have yet to receive a single piece of paper stating I have a new roof or any documentation about the warranty. No one has called or to my knowledge attempted any form of communication. I have yet to receive the pictures of the rotted wood. We could have gotten the same poor service and for drastically less money. I just wish this company’s service was as good as their sales pitch.

Chris Dobins,a sales professional and unfortunately also my next door neighbor, was in my opinion, not forthcoming. He was difficult to contact, unresponsive, unprofessional (called me “Dude” in writing,) and has no attention to detail as far as two different misspellings of my name on official documents, even when asked twice to make that correction. His statements were dubious at best in response to simple questions, to the point of me questioning his integrity. I would not recommend this company- this was to be my third project with them, despite their previous lack of follow through resulting in unresolved dissatisfaction with the first task. This company did not provide adequate communication, resolution, and now in this case showed remarkable unprofessionalism.

The only reason that they got on overall rating of a D and not an F is because of the installers. These guys did a great job: worked hard all day, polite, and cleaned up well before they left. Now for the D rating. It's been 7 months since they were installed and this is what we've experienced so far: 1. Absolutely ZERO sound reduction from outside noises. 2. Absolutely ZERO difference in heating and air conditioning usage. 3. After 7 months (MONTHS, not years.....MONTHS) the bottom sash on some of the windows is already starting to stick and is becoming harder and harder to open and close. 4. The screens on some of the windows are starting to bow and on a few they are actually coming undone from their frame. 5. Tons of bugs have gotten in between the screen and window on ALL of the windows.

The work performed was top quality. My sales manager Chris Dobbins was very nice to work with. I was amazed by the quality of the work. The attention to detail was awesome resulting in amazing accuracy of detail to the siding. They worked cleanly and efficiently. They sent a large enough team to get the work done well. I am very pleased with the results. I now have the nicest looking home in my development. The house is nicely sealed up and has resolved all of my issues that existed before the work was done. I went through Chris King at HomeFix and was very pleased. He was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. We replaced the over 50 year old windows in our home and Chris explained the process and presented us with a lot of great information to help us make the best decision for our home. Would definitely recommend!

If you need good quality work done quickly HCR would be a good choice. From the time that we decided to go with HCR until the time the work was completed was less than two weeks. We received regular communication from them throughout the entire process by email and phone. In the end we were very pleased with the quality of work. We requested that they come on a Saturday morning to inspect our roof and give us an estimate. The representative arrived on time and was very knowledgeable on all the different products offered. He also knew what materials our specific HOA would approve. Once we decided to go with HCR they ordered the materials and within a week they called to schedule the roof replacement date. We weren't ready to schedule because we were still waiting to get approval from the HOA. Once we got approval we called them back and they scheduled us for later that week. They delivered the materials the day before and placed them on the roof. The delivery truck left a deep tire tread in our lawn, so if that worries you be sure to tell them beforehand where you would like them to park the truck. It didn't bother us, but it might bother other people. On the day of the roof replacement a crew of three arrived at 7 am and were completely finished with the roof and all cleanup by 5:30 pm.

The whole process was smooth, with all parties carrying out their work in a professional, courteous, efficient manner. The materials are top notch. The work was done more quickly than I anticipated, and the workers cleaned up all materials. We have seen a big improvement in our heating bills. The roof looks really good.

I got my entire roof redone last week. I must say the crew arrived around 7:00 am and was done by 3:00 pm the same day! My roof looks great! Chris Dobbins was very friendly ,professional and always available when i had questions, I must say he was a terrific sales person! I will be a returning costumer for my future home projects.

I was supposed to get an estimate for new windows and new sliding doors in my house. I am the sole homeowner and the sole decision maker. They guy that called to confirm the appointment stated that if they don't meet with my spouse and anyone else living in the house then they won't do the estimate. He did not care that the spouse has no decision making capacity for the house and does not own the house at all. He was very rude and needless to say I will never use this company due to the fact they don't want to meet with the true homeowner. Poor business practices and a loss of thousands of dollars on their part.

Bottom line: We did not sign a contract because the price was outrageous, 16k for one standard size, no frills, patio door (10k installed) and a little over 6k for blown in insulation for just over the garage, 20x20 garage. HCR offered a today price and a one year price. Today price was 8900k, tomorrow price nearly 16k. He explained that the 8900 was a no profit price for being the first in the neighborhood, but that required us to allow signs, make nice comments about them and a few other tasks. I wanted a patio door and he showed me window parts. He spent 2 hours telling me and my wife how great their company was, then he wanted us to sign a contract without even seeing any product samples of patio door parts to back up his claims. And of course by signing that day, there would be no time to investigate their company or products after their pitch. When he would not take no, not interested, the salesperson spent another hour with more pitches for lesser quality products, and again no sample comparisons/difference between the products. After 3 hours I had to be very blunt and he finally left. Wow.

I would probably use this provider again. I wouldn't say I loved them and would use them all the time, but I would certainly give them a chance.

They started the work and only the team leader speaks English and the costs have been more than originally estimated for the replacement plywood, which they wanted to be paid right away and wasn't a part of my 100% arranged financing for the work and at this point they have already ripped off my roof and exposed the attic. They have torn my yard up after I had spent weeks re-seeding it. They don't communicate with the gutter guys, luckily I was home when they were putting the guttering up. They installed my gutters with them sticking them out much more than other homes in the neighborhood. I spoke to the office and was told they would send someone out, which they did a couple of days latter and they agreed to fix it, but I have yet to hear back from them in regards to fixing it. I paid the final payment and now can't get an answer for them to complete the work.

Very impressed with Salesman David who went above and beyond in inspecting the attic space, providing customer support, scheduling assistance and followup support. HCR Homefix did a great job and even took pictures of the finished work. We really wanted the attic penetrations (wires, vents, etc) sealed up as well as the vertical walls of the vaulted ceiling in the MBR. Since Homefix usually does not do this type of sealing, David followed up and re-inspected the attic after the work was completed and verified the installation. Very impressed a salesman that did after work customer followup. Crew showed up when expected and did a great job. Based on working with David, I would highly recommend HCR HomeFix again.

They were very neat, there was no insulation on our floors or anywhere.

A gentleman came to our door and was selling home restoration. We said we were interested in an estimate to replace our atrium door. He made a follow up appointment to return and did not show or call. We called the company and they had written down our phone number incorrectly. We asked to reschedule and they would only come if both my husband and myself were present.This was ridiculous for just getting an estimate and he would not agree to return without both of us there. I have had many other home renovations done without my spouse present when getting an estimate.

What this man did last night was not acceptable. He knocked on the door and told me that I needed a new roof, however he was very polite in telling me this. What I didn't like was that after he had convinced me to allow him to give us a bid for the new roof, we had set up an appointment with both myself and husband to meet with him and get a bid. I made it clear that I just wanted a bid and moments after agreeing to talk with him, I find him at my neighbors telling them that I am getting a new roof from his company. I found this to be very unethical and didn't like that he wanted to show us all of his products when I made it very clear that I just wanted a bid. This provider gives Angie's List a bad name by association with him as he comes up and down the street soliciting his business and using Angie's List as a way to garner more business and then tell customers to go to him and not Angie's List if they have any issues with his company.

A man shows up at our door one evening trying to sell us a new roof. My husband and I had been discussing the need for a new roof so he agreed to have someone come out and give us an estimate the next day. When he told me what he had done, I was very nervous about doing business with someone who goes door to door. He called and cancelled the appointment. That's when the nightly phone calls started. I told them in no uncertain terms not to call us again. It has been an entire month and we have received a call each evening about the same time. We no longer answer our phone in the evening fearing it will be this roofing company. They never leave a message. They also don't give up. I would never do business with a company that harasses people like this. As one other reviewer has had a similar experience this is a huge red flag. You have been warned!

The product they delivered (not their own design) was outstanding - however the installation was less than stellar - leaving nail holes uncovered and it had a very unfinished look overall. We'll have to go back and clean up after their work. To their cerdit they did offer to come and do it - but it's more of a hassle to take off work again for that than to just do it ourselves. Main complaint - this company has called so many times (under different names and third party serveys) that it's to the point of harrassment.They wanted to know how the service went and what other serives they could get us to by. I think I finally convinced them to stop calling us after answering their questions 10 times and getting very frustrated by the end of it. It was unreal. We will not be using this company again.

It took about 3 hours to swap out the windows and a little bit longer for the sliding glass door. Then another 3 hours or so to finish up the sealing, moldings/finishing and clean up. Was surprised how quickly the process went. There were 4 or 5 guys. As part of the deal we were asked to allow them to place a sign which will be in the front yard for a few weeks. We are happy with the results. The sales manager Miguel was friendly, professional and real easy to work with. He even worked with us on some last minute changes. We would recommend them to others.
