THe guys that came out were very good. Hoiwever Iwas charged $700 (reduced to $600) to repaire the diverter valve. 45 minutes of work and $50 on parts is ridiculous !!!!!! $550 labor cost for 2 mem for 45 minutes......

Five star septic pumped sewage into my house. Tens of thousands of dollars in damages. To make matters worse they would not take or return my follow up calls. Terrible service. Worse customer service. Advanced paid. Credit card company refunded.

I was extremely pleased with Five Star Septic. I called on a Wednesday to have my septic tank pumped, and they were able to schedule me right away. The people who answer the phone are very polite and professional. When the tech performing the service was delayed, the office called to let me know why and that he was on the way. The tech, Ariel, was very professional, very respective of my property, and very efficient. I would not hesitate to call and work with Five Star Septic again.

Very dependable good company, far better than some other companies with much higher reviews. Other company told us that our tank was leaking and needed replacement or expensive repair. We called Five Star for a second opinion. I will continue to use them for my septic cleaning and repairs in the future.

At 3 am on Sunday morning my septic holding tank pump failed and I began to get water in my basement. In order to get it repaired I needed to have my two septic tanks and my holding tank pumped. I called everyone listed in Angie's List to try to get someone out to help me on Sunday - no one responded. I started calling again on Monday morning beginning at 8am and NO ONE answered their phones until after 9:30. Everyone I called prior to Five Star could not help me, because they were all booked. Finally, at 10:30 I got in touch with Natalie at Five Star Septic. She was great! While they had full pump schedules, they did have a truck that was scheduled to go into the dealer's shop in Manassas (which was out my way) at 1 pm for repair. She went out of her way to call the driver and the dealer and was able to coordinate with them to work me into their schedule. The driver showed up around 1 pm and not only pumped my tanks, but washed the sludge out of them to make sure they were clean and helped me clean the filters on my two septic tanks. The driver and Natalie were great to work with and I cannot express my gratitude enough that they were willing to go the extra mile make it work so that I could get my tanks pumped in time to get my system repaired. I would absolutely use them again and recommend them!

I can recommend this company without reservation. They called to ask if they could come early, which worked out well for me. They needed to dig a huge hole to check my septic system, which was located under a rock wall. Not only did they cover the hole thoroughly, but they replaced the rocks perfectly. An excellent experience.

I scheduled a pump out of my septic tank on the above date, but unfortunately while I waited all day and was assured that the work was scheduled and would be done, unfortunately the provider simply failed to show-up and I didn't receive a call or e-mail contact to explain why my septic cleaning would not be performed.  I tried to call the providers main telephone number several times throughout the day until about 4:30 pm to find out what the status of my pump out was but unfortunately the providers land base phone was not working and I never received a reply to my e-mail contact on the providers website through Angies List.  I wasted the entire day because of this failed situation and while I do understand that problems occur, this was a very poor way to handle things with customers and I believe my rating of the provider is justified under teh circumstances.  My best advice to the owner of Five Star Septic is to ensure that scheduled work is done when promised and that his/her phone system is functioning effectively so customers can communicate with them timely and effectively.

Update:  Five Star Septic did show-up on 12/22/2015 to clean-out my septic tank.  I upgraded my review to B based upon the work being done properly and professionally by the technician.  The key issues I had was with responsiveness and doing my clean-out on the date promised.  Five Star Septic is a good compnay but it needs to pay attention to customers time and schedules and to homor the date promised or call the customer if there is a probelm.

Excellent work - they are very responsive when I call. Work with the County so I don't have to deal with that. When it comes to septic systems, you just want them to work. Five Star Septic comes right out and gets the job done right the first time. I don't know if they are considered high or low price, but think they're probably competitive to high. Not that it matters. Who wants to deal with that stuff? Five Star does, so call them.

They were responsive and they listened. They just did a good job. The main reason we picked them was external reference and then when we ended up getting a quote from another company the quote of Five Star was much lower than the other one.

They did arrive the next day and proceeded to pump out my main and the discharge tank. I didn't ask for that but I can see why it is necessary to correct my problem. When they completed that, they said that they would have to return the next day because they didn't bring any equipment to dig me out. Why did they come at all when digging was the predefined problem. They then said that whoever installed my pumps failed to put blocks under the pumps to support their weight and that they had just been hanging from the plastic plumbing. That caused the plumbing to break and the pumps to fall and, I suspect, also caused the discharge line to break outside the tank. This team obviously didn't know that 5 Star had done this work. Also, pay us $595 now for emptying the two tanks plus the emergency fee from Sunday. On Tuesday, it rained hard so I wasn't expecting them, but no one called so I called 5 Star only to be told that they now wanted $1500 to repair my system. I said I don't mind paying something, but I'm not paying for the pump problem your installation caused. 5 Star said that my only recourse was to talk to the owner who wasn't available now but would call me when he began working again. It is now Friday and after two more calls by me, the owner has still not called and they claim he is now out of town and still unavailable. I told them to forget about me and that I would reward them on Angie's List. They appeared glad to be rid of me, and, in return, I am glad to be rid of them.

A phone call to the office (Robbie) set up an appointment the next day.. Robbie was very congenial, took the information and made the appointment. The worker (Tony) , a professional independent man arrived the next morning and set to work. He located the septic tank lid, which was buried two feet under ground; he dug out access to the tank lid, and: went quickly to work to drain the tank. Tony was very professional, extremely friendly, and knowledgeable. When he drained the tank, Tony filled in the hole, which now looks as though the site had never been disturbed. We would use Five Star again and do recommend them highly.

Five Star Septic performed a septic inspection for the purchase of our house, and replaced the distribution boxes and header lines for our septic system. The services that Five Star provided were unsatisfactory for several reasons. First, they showed up over an hour late for the septic inspection. We also had to contact them several times after the inspection to get the report. Second, they under-quoted the cost of the septic repairs by $1000. Third, mid-way through the repairs (and the morning before our closing), they informed us that they needed to replace a second distribution box for an additional $1800. Despite these problems, the quality of their work and professionalism of their staff was good. Overall however, the mistakes made by Five Star management almost prevented us from closing on our house on time, and we would not recommend using their services if you have strict deadlines.

We have moved to this house recently and we were new to Septic Tank (we had county sewer at our earlier house). When teh alarm went off, we panicked! Not knowing what to do, we talked to neighbors and got some referrals. Called one or two companies and they said they won't be able to come for 3-4 days. We then subscribed to Angies list and called thsi company as it was one of teh recommended companies. The follks came very promptly and assured us that we don't need to worry. Manually pumped to drainfield and then gave us an esitmate for replacing pumps - 2 options. We went with Zoeller (slightly expensive) and they took another 3-4 days to complete the job. The whole experience was very positive.

Very responsive on the phone with a quick estimate. I was able to get an appointment easily and quickly. They showed up and did a great job. I would highly recommend them and would use them again if needed. The price was reasonable (and lower then many) for this type of service.

Our septic system alarm kept going off and we called 5 Star. The technicians quickly diagnosed that we needed a new pump and two new cam locks. After deciding to go with 5 Star they were able to come out the next day and replace the pump and cam locks. The two technicians were extremely professional and polite and they answering all questions posed to them. Additionally, the scheduler/dispatcher was extremely courteous and professional. I would definitely recommend them!

Called and they said that they would come out to do it the next day. They lied twice about when they would come. I had to call a number of times. It was stressful because I was going through financing and it must be done before settlement date. Finally they came and person living in the property at the time told me that the pump truck showed up and pumped the tank. Two days before settlement I got a inspection report from saying that the concrete lid of the septic tank was no good and must be replaced and that would be $300. I was skeptical as I was able to jump on the heavy lid made of concrete to know it was sturdy as it could be. I called them to let them know. They said either pay to have it fixed or they are not going to issue a letter to the mortgage company. That was the morning on the day of the settlement. Needless to say I paid them $725. Weeks gone by after the settlement and no one showed up to replace the lid (all of a sudden the critical safety issue was no more). I called them and said look, dont even come out to put the new lid as I'm going to abandon the septic tank anyway. Guess what, a green plastic lid came promptly installed after I told them it was moot point.

We chose Five Star, and they showed up with a day's notice, on time, with a capable crew. This job required heavy equip: big truck with the new septic tank, big backhoe to dig out old tank and winch it from the hole, and smaller backhoe to remove our shrubs and dig out the corroded cast iron pipe. The equipment coming and going was well coordinated and respectful of our neighbors. The crew clearly had worked together for awhile, and they were capable, personable, knowledeable, and good communicators. They would have gotten the entire job done in a day except it started to rain in the afternoon. They came back the following day to finish cleanup, remove remaining debris, and lay straw over the mud. Overall, this septic replacement was a difficult and stressful process that took several weeks because of all the insurance issues, but the easiest and least stressful part by far was the work that Five Star did. It has been 6 months since the install, with holiday guests, a freezing cold winter, and now saturated ground from rain putting it to the test, and the system has been excellent with not a single problem. I would definitely recommend these guys.

Work was performed efficiently, rep was on time and left the property (hole) in original condition. I got a copy of the work to send in to FFX County and paid by check. I was very satisfied with this job.
