I joined Comcast because they were cheaper the Verizon. I got new equipment and a nice voice activated remote. They promised me a gift card when I signed up and one year later NOTHING!!!!! I have called them several times to get my gift card they don't even call me back to tell me that i did not qualify for it. I am switching to verizon as soon as I can. They are horrible.

I've been a Comcast Cable customer for a few years now, but never felt compelled to share my experiences before now. I recently moved to the Reston, VA area, and my experiences have been mostly negative with a few exceptions. It is very hit or miss, and since I had some persistent issues with my service, devices, and billing, some experiences really stood out to me. First of all, appointments made with the Comcast staff are rarely kept. I think that they have some issues with dispatch as well as with those scheduling appointments; on three different occasions, I made myself available to be at home during a service window only to wind up waiting around for several hours for nothing, only to speak later to a clueless and unapologetic representative when I called to check what was up. Another notable difficulty that I have had is with the overall willingness to understand and correct a problem. I find that some service technicians really care about providing outstanding service, and take ownership of solving an issue. I have to give major props to Jeff Morris, who came to my home to help fix an issue. He finally solved the problem that I was having with my setup and devices and even got a long standing billing problem resolved by helping me reach out to the proper channels. Overall, I'm not that unhappy with my cable service, but less than genuine employees who walk away from a problem (or just don't show up) has slightly tarnished my overall view of the service technicians and the overall operation in Reston, VA.
