Contacted Ron from a Google Search to install a clear bra on my new automobile.  Ron seemed nice and was reasonably priced.  It appeared that he knew what he was doing and actually did a pretty good job.  After the transaction, things went down hill.  It seems that he was supposed to install the 3M product on my car.  After installation I tried contacting Ron about half a dozen times to get my warranty card for the product.  After multiple calls, messages and text messages I finally got a hold of him.  He informed me that he would drop it in the mail.  After 3 weeks, no card.  I tried calling him again, text and left messages and no reply.  I finally called from a random number and he picked up.  Said he would fax it directly to me.  Still, no fax.  I have had to contact 3M directly to get an investigation launched to determine if it was in fact 3M film that he applied to my car.  I should be able to get my card directly from the company, but will have to have my film inspected from a reputable dealer for their approval.  The process has been pretty weird to be honest and really is strange that someone would act so shady.  I paid for a service, how much time or effort does it take to issue me a warranty card.

After investigation and digging, I was able to discover several bad reviews of Ron and his service.  Although the job he did for me seems ok, only time will tell as who knows what type of film he applied to my car.  Please stay away, there are many people out there that do this work, please pay a little more for a reputable dealer.

UPDATE:
After 4 months of driving my car, it appears the film that Ron applied started to peel in certain areas.  I learned from several other installers that this completely based on how the installer cut the film after it was applied to your car.  Good installers cut the film so that it doesn't peel or has less of a chance to peel.  This would mean, don't lay the film down on really extreme curves.  I contacted the 3M sales rep from the area who started to really question if what I had was 3M film or not.  I visited another reputable installer and he informed me that I did in fact have 3M Film.  He also noticed the small cut outs on either side of my bumper that shouldn't be there (see attached photos).  I contacted the 3M rep and he contacted Ron to ask if he would do something to help rectify the issue.  Ron informed the 3M rep that he would not help fix the problem and that if it was unhappy with the install that I should have said something then.  I informed the 3M rep that I was told by Ron that the cut-outs were basically how it was and that was how the kit was designed.   How was I to know how the kit should look?  How would any consumer know?  Well, at this point the 3M rep basically got pictures from me and his engineers determined that Ron has used the wrong kit on the car.  It appears that the kit was for a Optima SX and not an EX and there were slight differences.  At this point, since the issue was completely Ron's doing, the 3M rep had me contact a superb installer to fix his mistake.  The new installer replace the bumper of the car with the correct kit and not leaving notches (see attached photo).  It did take some persuading to get the new installer to take this project.  Little did I know that installers hardly ever remove film from an installer that wasn't them.  So, if you buy film, you best have someone install it that will stand by it and not be a flake and not return phone calls or cut off his/her phone like Ron does.  You are un-installing locked to this person for the life of your car.

Once we started un-installing the kit, we really started to notice the issues with Ron's installation.  First, he didn't cover my fog lights with the install.  He covered my headlights, but not my fog lights.  Next, he didn't cover the plastic around the fog lights either.  Next, he didn't cover my toe hook(a two inch piece of the bumper).  Finally, he basically cut a large square around the license plate.  Instead of cutting small holes for the license place, he cut a large square around it.  How lazy is that (photo attached)?  The new installer covered all of these and did a superb job on the car.

My lessons learned in all of this (1.)  Don't use Ron Steven's for anything.  The guy is terrible at customer service.  He dodges phone calls and turns off his phone.  (2.)  Pay for a quality install.  Trust me, you will thank yourself later.   The trouble and headache is not worth it in the long run.  (3.)  Find someone that will stick by you in all of this.  (4.)  Be aware that although 3M makes a quality product, they do not stand by their installers.  If they screw it up, you are on your own.  They only care about selling film, not the consumer.  Yes, my rep did help me out and I appreciate him for this, but this is not the norm.  If you find yourself a good installer, you want have to worry about this part of it.
