MANASSAS TRANSFER INC

Very well. All items went on one truck, and were not unloaded at various transfer points. There were lots of stairs in both VA and NYC as well. A few smaller items and shelving were lost or misplaced, but overall I was very pleased. When I filed a voucher for the damages and lost items, Manasassas Transfer paid it promptly. No issues. I would use them again.

The service was beyond anything I expected. The sale of my home in Virginia and the purchase of my home in Alabama did not go as expected. I had to push the date for moving from Virginia up by almost a month and push off the move in date in Alabama up by almost 2 weeks. Manassas Transfer worked with me every step of the way!!! I was amazed at how willing to work with me they were - I felt so bad calling each time to ask if they could move around the expected dates they had. I originally scheduled the move-out for July 30th - had to call and see if they could come July 3rd - their response and quot;let us check with dispatchand quot; followed by and quot;no problem.and quot; FANTASTIC!!!! Then with the delivery...I put them off three times - all with the same response!!! More fantastic service. Then, things really got messed up - because we did not have a local bank we had to have the down payment wired, which took longer than expected, and it was a corporate sale, so we couldn't take ownership until the transfer was completed. All of which meant that the movers, who were in town with all of our stuff, couldn't do anything until the money posted. Again,everyone associated with Manassas Transfer were unbelieveably helpful and accommodating. They were all set to move us in at 8am but wound up not being able to move us in until 12:30!!! I felt so bad for everyone involved, but they NEVER hesitated to help and work with me through all the craziness and changes!!! I can't endorse them enough - they are the best ever!!! And, even better, they were the least expensive :)

Numerous issues occurred during the move and during follow-up after trying to get compensation for damages of items.
Pros:
-The movers appeared professional and were on time.
-I have a friend that recommended the company, so they have done good work.
Cons:
-Our quote was for approx $850-1100. Our final cost was $1650.
-Three items were damaged beyond repair. We actually watched one item fall off the back of the truck.
-One item was lost.
-Response to compensation for destroyed items was slow and inadequate. Note: For approx $300 worth of damage, they were willing to pay $32.00. We never received the $32.00. Mover's stated they would have compensated for the damages more adequately if we would have purchased their moving insurance.

They were excellent and gave me a very competitive estimate. They came exactly when they said they would get here to pick it up and arrived on time. The driver of the truck coordinated with me on the delivery time and day. He also was very careful and coordinated with me on the packing of my items and made sure it was packed to my satisfaction. They were professional and very good people. They came on the 13th of September and I asked them to not deliver it before the 18th. They told me to call on the 18th and they gave me an available list of days they would deliver it. They came right at the time they said they would. I've had no problems so far with anything they packed and moved - nothing is damaged. The amount they charged me was even less than the estimate. I couldn't have asked for a smoother move.

A representative came to our home to provide an estimate of the work and let us know what to expect. He was very pleasant to work with. He took time answering our questions and explaining their services. On moving day, three movers arrived on time and completed the work in the time that we agreed upon. When the movers arrived, they offered us to use wardrobe boxes to load our clothes and they would move them for us but we declined. The movers did a great job, as our furniture was very heavy and had to be carried down a flight of stairs at both locations.
