Weed Man

Overall, the service was great and very professional. My grass certainly looks better than it has the previous 2 years when I used other companies after moving to the area. Through trial and error, I have found Weed Man to be the best in the area. The only thing I would change is their prices. They are a bit more expensive than other lawn care providers in the area, but I guess you get what you pay for and so far I have been pleased with the results so I didn't mind paying the higher cost.

It seems they have a standard treatment that they apply to EVERY yard regadless of what is actually happening. Months into service, maybe mid-summer, I noticed a lot of crabgrass along my driveway so I called. Why I had to call is beyond me...something the technician should have addressed. They sent someone out but said there wasn't much they could do about the crabgrass becuase the heat of the asphault drives growth. ?!?!? It is a weed...your name is weedman...kill the weed?!?! But they didn't so I fired them. A year or so later they called and asked me to renew. I explained why I fired them the first time and this time they swore they would be responsive, would remedy any issues and offered a good deal so, I hired them again. I gave them a CC# for auto payment, but for some reason it didn't take, so the first bill I got was for 5 treatments. The 1st and 3rd treatment was a fertilizer!!! I called and told them I already had my lawn service fertilizing my lawn and I hired them to kill the weeds, not feed them. I paid for all non-fertilizer treatments but they would no budge on the fertilizer and reported my outstanding $135 to the creit bureaus. Nice!

We have an annual contract. It's good service, good price and the results are very good.

Used their service for over 1 year. They did a good job. Provided valuable information on sprinkler watering times, treatments and lawn issues over phone/.  I decided to do the treatments myself but if I use a service I would use them.

I'm still recovering from it. The sales guy called my time after time trying to sell me on lawn treatments, and I told him no that we were going to discuss it and we would let them know. They did it anyway and charged me for it. Now they refuse to take my calls. Run like the wind away.

They were consistent. They could have offered a lawn analysis. The prices were reasonable. I would recommend them to a friend.

Their thing was that it was all organic, no bad chemicals. It just got so weedy so we called up somebody from the agriculture extension office and he came out and got soil samples and said you need to do this, this and this, and so my husband did it. If you get a lawn with lots of sun, not shady like ours, then their system runs pretty much on automatic pilot. They do the same fertilizer and preemergent weeds and seeding and postemergent twice and they do an aeration in the fall, overseeding and winterizing and that's their standard thing. Occasionally, they'll recommend the lining of the lawn but I don't think that they actually do a sample of the lawn. They will occasionally make notes that it gets shady or something but they don't have any recommendations for you. It's pretty much as long as all you want is for them to take care of the grass and you got plenty of sun and regular watering, and just don't want to do the maintenance, that's what they're for. I was just hoping that they would do more. The only time that I really had to do anything different was when they changed from paper to electronic and I used to see the paper on the door and know that they had been there and they would say on their to keep the pets off the lawn and then they switched to electronic. I wouldn't get the note until I check my email, which might be a day later, so I had to call them and say you need to tell me when you're coming so that I will know ahead of time because I don't get the notification to keep the dog off the lawn for 2 hours and I don't know when they've been there. So, they started calling so that was good.

Weedman was very prompt in replying to my purchase and setting up an appointment to provide treatment. They came and applied the treatment while we were on vacation and let us know it was completed. We will use them again in the future.

I give Weed Man very high marks for scheduling and follow-up by phone and e-mail.  However when the did the work nothing was left at the house to indicate they had visited while I was gone.  No note on the door, no little yard signs to indicate area had been treated by a chemical.  I have 2 cats and children and would have appreciated a note with any warnings or suggestions.  I finally got my warning ironically on the (paid) invoice some 10 days later, it said to avoid lawn for 30 minutes after treatment!  LOL    So Weed Man does the job, but they could use some polish to become better.  I see why they average to "B" on Angie's List.  Weed Man you should leave those little yard signs on the lawn, not only for warnings/suggestions, but to advertise to the public at the same time!  Put your phone number and web address on them.

Weed Man was very professional and performed services as expected. We will probably use him again in the Spring to keep our lawn in tip top shape.

Core aeration and overseeding. Price was in line with the market, and got a 5% discount for pre-payment. I did see some germination occur in a few bald patches before it got cold, but will see the real results only in the spring.

I think the lawn looks great and I am happy with their services. I went with them because they have excellent customer service and an online billing system which is very convenient. Their pricing is competitive with the other companies I researched.

Very effective and professional if you do not mind use of chemicals

Work was performed while I was at work - came home to the results.  Grubworm application killed the tips of one azalea bush but everything else seemed to be unaffected. Aeration was not done to the depth I would ave preferred, but they did an adequate job. Overseeding is starting to come in and it looks like a completely different type of grass than what I currently have in my yard - we'll see what it looks like next spring.  Mulch was applied in all areas of the lawn, so that seems to have been done correctly.  Saw no trace of lime application, so again, we'll just have to wait and see what happens next spring.
I chose to use Weedman based on Angie's List, but I was not pleased with their timetables.  Services were usually scheduled one or two weeks later than I would have preferred, but that is just my opinion - maybe they really are that busy.
I will provide a followup - you guessed it - next spring.

They come on their schedule and do the fertilization according to our agreement with them.  They are generally reliable to get the job done. This year my lawn did not look as good as prior years which I cannot explain.

They are super about calling you after service and letting you know if they noticed anything to be dealt with.  Very clear on pricing, services, etc.

We use them all the time and they're fine. They do come and do work in a regular basis. Everything's good and I will continue to use their services.

I liked that when I used Weed Man - Loudoun and Northwest Fairfax Counties my grass was green. I didn't like that the weeds were never under control, the individuals they sent to me looked like they were in a prison somewhere, I didn't feel safe when the men were on the property, I didn't like the quality of the service and the follow through and I didn't like the pestering phone calls after I discontinued my service. They did show up and the grass was green.

The service is excellent. They're good.

They have done a really good job repairing the cheap grass the builder put in. It looks really good now.

Our lawn was much improved after the first treatment - all of the weeds were gone with maybe one or two stragglers.  We've been using Weed Man since the spring and our lawn looks better than it has in a long time.  The only complaint I have is that they call us frequently to try and sell us on additional services, which can add up quickly.
