With regard to price, I checked around with a bunch of people and they were actually the lowest. Overall, the service is great. They have been great. They came on time and it was exactly what they quoted.

I called around to several companies since this is the first time I have bought heating oil. Valley Energy/ Capitol Discount Fuel was very straightforward, patient and thorough in explaining everything to me and didn't try to push me into an automatic delivery program like the rest did. I appreciated that they were local and decided to give them a try even though their prices were a little higher but not much. He guaranteed me that price though and prices were going up at the other companies and they wouldn't guarantee me anything. I called back to several companies and did indeed find the prices were creeping up and the price they quoted me just 30 minutes later had changed. I explained I was new at this and didn't realize my tank was almost empty and I was worried I was going to run out. He worked hard to make sure I could get a delivery as soon as possible. Other companies said 5-7 days and he had someone out the next day even though I didn't commit to anything but this one delivery. Usually priority is given to scheduled delivery. The men called 30 minutes before arrival and were AMAZINGLY polite. They explained everything to my very interested 5 year old daughter. I look forward to using them again.
