It was a very good experience. They took the screen down and reinstalled it. They were very quick and did a great job for only $125!

Easy to do business with.  No real price deals.  Dinged them on punctuality because they showed up at 1130 vice the agreed time of 1-2PM.  My daughter just happened to be here so it was no problem, but normally no one would have been home.  They called about 15-20 minutes ahead and I assume if no one answered the phone they would have come during the agreed upon window.  The screen was purchased over the phone.  No pre-sale visit for measuring or to show the product (they said pre-measuring was not necessary).  A local Lowes had a single door version that we were able to see beforehand.  Apparently installation was quick and easy and clear maintenance directions were provided.  They were gone by the time I got home about 1245.  I probably would have bought a Clearview retractable screen because the return mechanism creates a more gentle return, but the only distributor in the DC area is Liberty Screens and they have been blocked on Angies list and have an F rating from the better business bureau so we wouldn't take a chance with them.  All told, Tri-State provided a good product, with little hassle, installed it properly, and I would not hesitate to use them in the future.

Cam arrived on time, worked quickly, taught us how to use doors & maintain them, cleaned up.

Very well. Installer called to inform me that he was on his way. Did measurements and a very thorough installation and explanation of product. Very satisfied with work.

I had a wonderful experience with Tri-State from start to finish. The very first time that I called I was able to schedule an appointment for installation within a week. The 2 man crew that showed up were smart, thoughtful and professional even calling about 30mins before they arrived. Carl and Kevin showed up on time and ready to work , they took measurements of the oversized doors and began building the custom screens. After the screen doors had been installed perfectly, they even took the time to explain the maintenance and care involved and showed me how to reset the screen doors if I ever needed to. They cleaned up after themselves and were a pleasure to work with. Later in the day one of the managers from Tri-State called to make sure that everything went well and that I was happy with the new screen doors. I had a wonderful experience working with a wonderful company.

The folks at Tri-State Retractable screens were a pleasure to work with. They were communicative, responsive and very prompt. When our first installation date was rained out, they called with other options the next day. Moreover, when they had a cancellation, they called to see if we could be available early. The screen fits perfectly and works great. I've already recommended them to neighbors and am considering having them return to do another job for me.

We had to remove the screen/storm door when we moved here a couple of months ago to install a pet door for our dog. Good for the dog - not so good for bugs, as we found when the weather got nicer and we wanted to leave the back door open. We had never heard about these retractable screens until I saw them promoted in a flyer. I called that firm (not on Angie's List) and was very put off by their lack of responsiveness. So I searched Angie's List and found Tri-State Retractable Screens. From my very first email inquiry they were extremely responsive and helpful. One week later they sent a 2-man crew to do the installation. Apparently our door frame is slightly off kilter so it took them nearly an hour to cut the framing and runner pieces, but the end result was perfect. We have a good screen that stays open magnetically, then retracts smoothly and quickly into a vertical housing that has a very low profile.
The crew were very tidy and even asked for a cloth to wipe their fingerprints off the housing! We were very impressed and would strongly recommend them to anyone else needing this kind of product.

There are not many businesses that offer retractable screens in Northern Virginia so I was very happy find Tri State Retractable Screens. The process from start to finish was smooth and problem free. I mainly worked with Colby who is very professional and responsive. He was more than willing to work with me via email or over the phone. I provided him some pictures and dimensions and he was able to give me few different options with approximate prices the same day. After my wife and I settled on our choices, it took about 4-5 weeks for the factory to build the screen. After that, the installation was completed quickly and cleanly. My wife and I are very happy with our screens. I highly recommend Tri State Rectractble Screens.

When I bought my circa 1984 Reston town home 6 years ago, I didn't realize how many things were not "standard" size. When the Fairfax County Fire Department forced entry through my front door (due to a small fire next door) which caused me to replace both the door and the jamb, not even *that* door could be installed without serious tweaking and modification by professional door installers. Therefore, it came as no surprise that when something as "simple" as a sliding screen door on my deck, which was the wrong size to begin with, finally gave up the ghost entirely, the search to find a properly fitting and functioning screen door became a quest. Nothing HD and Lowes sold would fit. Nor were their employees vaguely knowledgeable. I found an on-line company that custom makes screen doors/windows to specification, but measurements had to be to taken (by me) to the closest 16th of an inch. Their on-line instructions were rather intimidating and the diagrams caused more consternation than confidence. Although I am capable of many home fixes, I was concerned that I would spend over $200 only to wind up with a non-returnable 32"x80" paper weight. My living room is small and most of the rear wall is comprised of French doors that look out across my deck and trees. I've always considered it a living painting and often thought a retractable screen would be most aesthetically pleasing, allowing the view to be uncluttered by screening, which currently was seen through one side of the door or the other, regardless of its position. Not to mention I had a high degree of concern that the door be absolutely bug-tight! I love to let the air in, but not bugs, which seem to have an affinity for both my deck and my person. If the screen door could not fit tightly enough to keep out the smallest of intruders, then I might as well seal the doors and treat them as windows. I called no less than 5 contractors/general handymen from Angie's List hoping to find someone who would take measurements, install and, if necessary, tweak a new sliding screen door. No one would touch the job. Too much trouble for too little money, they said. I found Tri-State by trolling the web. They had a "cicada special" in May. I called. Phone staff was friendly, informative, answered all my questions and allayed most of my concerns. It was more money than I had been willing to spend when I began my search two years ago, but after ending up at so many dead ends the cost was softened when I factored in their warranty, that they come and custom fit the door on your property and they will come out and address any problems for two years. I told Tri-State I had to have my siding painted before I was ready for the screen door, so the installation was finally done in June. I was told they would come between 8:00 and 9:00a during the week. They came at 8:15 and I was on the road to work in a hour. Carl and a helper measured my doorway, set up a saw horse and custom fit the door on the front sidewalk after plugging in their saw in my kitchen (no outlet at the front of my house). They installed the door jamb on top of the existing aluminum threshold. Carl showed me how to re-seat the screen in case some person/dog walks through it. Also, how to keep the tracks clean and lubricated with silicone spray (NOT WD-40). They left me a can of lubricant when they were done. The whole process was quick and painless and I wish I had bitten the bullet a few years ago. I'm very happy that I have an unimpeded view of my deck and trees 24-7 and I am looking forward to having my door open to the air while keeping the bugs out once the humid summer changes to autumn.

The job required several visits, the first time, workers came with materials for only two doors. They had to return several times to make closures earlier for us to handle, but all of our requested modifications were cheerfully when I over paid and they sent a refund.

The company was very responsive to my call for services and was extremely flexible to accommodate my unpredictable schedule. They arrive on time and worked diligently to complete the task. They cleaned up all materials and showed my how to care for the product. The retractable screens are superior to any other door screening we have used. The two recently installed are in addition to one that was installed 4 years ago. The screens survive children and dogs!

Service rep was early actually better for me. He fixed screen checked its performance, than gave us maintenance instructions and can of silicone spray. he was attentive thorough and very competent we were very satisfied.

They were great. They were very responsive. We'd actually tried another company to get a phantom screen installed and really had no luck with them as well. We then contacted tri state screen and they were extremely responsive, came out right away, and the cost was cheaper. The main person who did the installation was Carl, and he was delightful; a very nice man. The other worker was very helpful too and they both cleaned up after themselves, and they took away the old screen door. They came when they said they would within their time frame. We would definitely use them again as they were a very good company to work with.

The experience turned out fine overall. They seemed to be highly specialized in this type of work and knew what they were doing. Their price was a little higher than I was hoping to pay, but it is a specialized product, and it's worked very well for me!

The gentlemen were not only polite but well skilled and performed the job with any issues. They were on time and finished before I expected.

I met Chris at the Baltimore Home Show when I walked past his very small booth tucked away in the back of the convention center. I explained what I needed and he gave me a quote on the spot. I had searched for a do-it-yourself solution for more than a year, and in fact had "installed" an adjustable screen from a home improvement store that turned out to be a bad investment of $100. They were here for less than an hour, made their installation and were on their way. It's also important to note that Nectar's office is 1 1/2 hours away and they did not charge me travel time. It was well worth the $400 we spent!
