Shenandoah Sash and Door Company

Shenandoah Sash and Door are the dealer representative for Kolbe Windows an Doors. I installed over 60,000 dollars of these windows and doors on my new home. I purchased the K Kron 20 year finish with a 10 year warranty. After 5 years the sashes began to rot. I have read numerous similar reviews about these windows. Apparently, when they are installed the normal movement of the window creates miniscule cracks at the joints, almost invisible to the eye. This is unavoidable. Water, of course can find it's way into any opening. The cracks take on water and the finish will not allow the wood to breathe and dry out. The result is ROT. The company wishes to avoid a warranty claim is taking the position that my house is poorly maintained. This is NOT TRUE! They are merely avoiding paying out on a legitimate claim. This will be a very expensive repair. I would not use this company or recommend them to anyone. Kolbe windows are also substandard and not worth the money.
