They were very complicated. I wanted my floor refinished in a certain area of my house, and they were trying to do all my floors. They did not listen to me at all. They ended up packing up and walking out on me.

We are very pleased with our wood floors and highly recommend Purcellville Floors!

Simply put, Pat from Purcellville Floors LLC is not only a great and knowledgeable expert about hardwood flooring, but he is also a professional and friendly guy to work with. I was referred to him by a friend that I went to college with who had hardwood flooring work done in her house by Pat. Being new to the area, who better to trust than a friend that had already worked with somebody that you need that type of service from. Pat provided me with a clear breakout of the costs for the entire job. We had a great plan of action lined up and were ready to go. After removing some of the carpeting in the master bedroom, we discovered that there wasn't a complete floor of hardwoods under the carpet that simply needed to be brought back to life (only half of the room had hardwood and the other half was filled in with a combination of multiple subflooring levels). I asked him for his opinion and once we determined that he couldn't replace the missing half of hardwood flooring with new hardwoods, he proposed an ingenious idea about installing new hardwood floors diagonally over top of the existing floor due to the way that the joists were installed. The finished product turned out to be something that I thoroughly enjoy and will undoubtedly be a key selling feature down the road. Overall, I am thoroughly please with the finished product and will be calling him again once I am finished with my kitchen remodel so that he can refinish the floors in my living and dining room.

I had carpet that was loose and rolling in the upstairs hallway of our home. I wasn't sure that it could be salvaged.
We
were having people over and needed a quick turn around. Pat was
amazing! He came by the day I called and said it was no problem. From
the time I called him to the time it was fixed there was a 24 hour turn
around. The work was impeccable, and it made the carpet look good as
new!
I would recommend them without hesitation.

We use them because they had decent reviews and were close. At installation, we did find that one of the carpets was out of stock and that took several more weeks to come in so being home and preparing twice for the install was a pain in the wazoo.
There were a couple of problems but PF was fairly responsive. The installers cut my business phone wires while installing in my home office. I did not realize I had no phone for several days: Even though these wires were pointed out at time of installation, and it seems they should not have been damaged, these things happen and PF offered to fix or reimburse.
The really weird thing was the padding installed on the entire upper floor had and quot;squeaksand quot; in it. It took a few conversations to convince them I was not loosing my mind---it was NOT the floor boards. Sure enough, they first sent a rep who heard what I heard then they sent a couple of crew back out a week or so later. It was confirmed that the padding had hard pieces/chips in it (best description I can think of) that would sound like a little squeak or muffled krrrkk sound when stepped on.
It was not everywhere but in many places. You would only notice when you actually stepped on that specific spot.. The crew lifted up the carpeting and replaced at least a half-dozen spots that I knew of and they found additional spots in the MBR and hallway. No doubt, there are more under beds or near walls. I suspect the padding was flawed--not PF's fault--but I did not ask for the entire padding to be replaced.
Between part of the initial order being out of stock and then the weird krrrkk sounds, I had not paid PL the final 50%. I am glad to say PF did not make an issue of this while I still had the outstanding issue. The installation itself seemed well done with no obvious seems, poor planning, or incompetent installers.
I would use them again...they probably deserve between an A and a B.

Everything from the initial consultation to the installation went perfect. I was very happy with Purcellville Floors responsiveness, the price, the flexibility on the installation schedule, the installation itself, the carpet, and the follow through. I would strongly recommend Purcellville Floors to anyone. I would certainly use them again.

I contacted Purcellville Floors and spoke with Pat Owens after receiving a few quotes from other flooring companies. I contacted them by phone and we scheduled a consultation for the following day. Pat, showed up right on time for the appointment. He brought a number of carpet samples with him for us to look over. He walked us through the pros and cons of various carpets and pad selections. At this stage we had a general idea of what we wanted but we were still undecided. Pat took all of measurements and worked up the estimates for a number of different carpets. Additionally, we asked for some estimates on some types of carpets we had quotes on from another flooring company. Pat's prices were very competitive and in most cases below the other flooring companies. Even with an upgraded pad for the carpet we selected the price was below that of our next lowest quote.
We proceeded to order the carpet and scheduled a tentative installation date. We were in the process of finishing our basement and the exact date the basement was going to be ready for carpet installation was still a bit up in the air. The project ended up being delayed 2 weeks and Pat had no issues delaying the installation and holding the carpet to fit our schedule. Once I gave him notice on a Friday we would be ready for installation the following week. He immediately contacted me back with a confirmed installation date during the following week.
Pat contacted me the day before the scheduled installation letting me know the installation team would be there the following morning between 8 and 9. They arrived just after 8am. The installation took the majority of the day but they were out before 5pm. The carpet installation is perfect in my unprofessional opinion. The site was left as clean as possible. The installers were friendly and mostly importantly very careful not to damage the walls which had recently been painted. A+ for the installation team.
Pat stopped by during the day to check on the installation process. He also followed up after the installation to make sure we were happy with everything.
We've had the carpet for about a month now. After a month I am still very happy with everything. I haven't noticed any issues or defects of any kind with the carpet or the installation.
Again, I would highly recommend Purcellville Floors and I would certainly hire them again.

I was moving into a 1920 home with much of the original wood flooring. It's important to note that the stone structure was built as a school so the pine floors had more than their share of traffic! One room in particular had damage and previously poor repair jobs. I wanted to work with a company that was part of my new community. Pat Owens answered on the first ring and set a time for an estimate for the following Saturday. He was there before I was (was before we moved in) and assessed the current status and made solid recommendations - sharing my desire to keep the character for years to come. He had the estimate to me within the next few days. I was initially concerned that he used subcontractors to do the work - sanding, staining, sealing. Although we worked around their schedule - the floors were completed and ready for the movers on time. This entire transaction was completed within about 10 days - from first call to walking on the gorgeous floors.We had divided the work in the house and only tackled the most critical half. But I will be calling on him to finish the other half in the next few months. The price was well within what I expected based on my research.

It wasn't anything anybody couldn't do and it didn't last very long. I didn't pay for what they came to me.
