Jared came out and gave me what I thought was an slightly above average estimate for the amount of work done. After we scheduled a date the crew came and finished ahead of schedule. My major gripe with this company is after they took my payment I did not hear from them again. There were areas I thought were missed from the original job, but they were slow to respond and never gave me a clear answer. So I will not be able to recommend them, which is a shame because they did a relatively good job.

Jared McDonald salesman for the company promised that the insulation would be to code, it was sprayed too thin. When confronted about it he was aggressive and rude and proceeded with personal attacks. They said they will remove old insulation, most of it was left. They damaged wires and recessed lights and ac ducting. They left over spray all over the place, they left a mess in the hallways, they scuffed the hardwood floor and walls. They used open cell foam which should have been closed cell foam. Stay away from this con artist and this horrible company
Response from NOVA SPRAY FOAM INSULATION LLC

"This customer is not one to be trusted to give an opinion as to our craftsmanship. There was no damages to his property, the project was completed to code and with the proper materials. After 3 months of trying to collect on a job completed correctly and signed off on by this customer he has now gone to the extreme of bad reviews after we have commenced legal action to collect for our services. We stand by our services and actions."

We did work with Nova Spray Foam because it sounded like they could get the work done in a timely fashion. We paid a premium for them (when compared to the price quoted from another company) for this accelerated schedule. In the end, we did not get that accelerated schedule because Nova Spray Foam missed multiple appointments. The work they did was pretty good, and we are satisfied with the results (there was a slight overpromise regarding the improvement we would achieve, but we did see a nice improvement). That said, the difficulty we had getting in touch with the company in order to schedule and perform the agreed-upon work was very disappointing.

They did a great job.  Work was exactly as we requested and significantly lower cost than other quotes.  Thank you!

Own a very old farm house.  Almost impossible to heat.  I live in a different State so everything was done via email.  I rent the home out to someone and this is what they emailed me about this company..

The entire foundation is now completely sealed. They also cleaned out the miscellaneous junk that was laying in the dirt, like old bottles and cans, insulation, etc. They took out about 6 large contractor bags of stuff. Mostly old nasty insulation but I thought this was nice because it was unexpected. You can recommend these people to your friends. There were two guys, they arrived a little early and were completely professional. They put booties on their shoes when entering the house, covered everything not to be insulated with plastic and kept me informed about the process.

I was also sent pictures.... looks awesome..... I think it will do the job.  We had entire crawlspace and basement done.  Expensive but had to be done....will pay off in long run.

I bought this house in Feb and am using this room as a kennel room for my 3 dogs.  It was quite hot in there with the old insulation. The room gets the afternoon sun until dark exposure.   It is an AMAZING difference with the spray foam in.  I rarely use the window a/c in the evenings when I bring the dogs in, and if I do, it's just for an hour to make sure the dogs are comfy.  Before, I had to have the a/c on for at least 3 hours and it did NOT cool down the room, and the celing had ABSOLUTELY no insulation in it when they tore it out.

It was hard to get the drywall people and spray foam company to work in tandem.  Something that I expected to take one week to complete ended up taking 3 weeks, because the subs that did the drywall did not come back and finish the job right away completely.  In the future, I will not pay in full until all work is complete, my bad. Or I will hire my own drywall workers.

Jared and his team diid an amazing job and would hire them back for future work, which I will probably need in the future to sound proof part of my basement.  Also, I was not there initially when they started the work, and they went ahead and cleared the room, took down the blinds, etc, which is not something they usually do.  They were running ahead of schedule time-wise, so they came early and decided to start.

Randy came out to take a look at the job, he answered my list of questions and concerns I had and within a day or two had an estimate back to us.
We signed the contract and the work was completed promptly.  The crew did an awesome job!  Being able to raise the stoop back to its original location instead of replacing it not only saved us hundreds of dollars, but it looks better because we don't have brand new concrete next to old concrete.  If you have a sidewalk that is tilting or concrete steeps that have settled call NOVA foam before thinking about replacement.

Horrible, they wasted my time by never showing up for either of two appointments, and they never returned my calls.

Work was completed on time and exactly as requested. The driveway is now level and we can smoothly drive into our garage. In addition the crew was very careful to drill between bricks as they raised our front stoop which saved us from having to replace any bricks. Excellent job!

It was easy to get an appointment with them. They came out right away and gave us a good estimate. They talked with me about the options, took measurements, and followed up a few days later with an estimate.

I've tried calling, emailing, filling out online contact requests...you name it. These folks are either incapable of responding, are not able to respond, or don't care to respond. In short, they are not worthy of being noted with Angie's List.
I'm accustomed to long response times when dealing with a good company that is swamped with customer requests. I recognize that quality workmanship has a high demand. I have worked with a few skilled tradesmen that have reached out and explained their backlog and I have worked with them. This is not the case with these folks.
We're talking about either complete incompetence or just pure unprofessionalism, either of which would disqualify most contractors from even being listed as an option on Angie's List.
No phone call, no email, no letter...nothing...
If they can't even contact you to tell you that they're backlogged or swamped, then they don't deserve the credibility that Angie's List provides them. If they can't even communicate with potential customers that they are having trouble with staffing, equipment, office personnel, ANYTHING to explain their inability to respond to an inquiry, then they don't deserve to be on Angie's List.
I know that Angie's List has sales personnel calling these vendors to "SIGN UP" to be on their list, to be recognized as "above grade" contractors. So I'm of the mind that the only reason these folks are even showing up on Angie's List is because they're paying Angie's List to stay on.......that violates the very concept of this service.

They came and took measurements. They told me they would email me the estimate. I called the manager to let him know I didn't get the email, and he said he would get back with me. I haven't heard from them since.

Estimator showed up on time and was fine.  He indicated I would receive a quote the next day, but I actually had to follow up several days later to inquire about the quote.  Once I received the quote, I inquired about an angie's list discount, and they provided a new quote with a 5% discount.  However, they added $800 to the price of the original quote to remove existing exposed fiberglass insulation (which was obviously needed at the time of the original quote).  I still may use them, but charging me an additional $800 to removed exposed fiberglass insulation is far too expensive for an hour worth of work.

Don't search around for other contractors to do your foam insulation.  Just hire these guys.  They have it all:  knowledge, skill and price.

Contacted NOVA Spray Foam via their website and received a return call from Arlo Edwards the following day to schedule an estimate.  We agreed on Friday 17 January at 1 pm, but Arlo called me at approximately 12:30 pm that day to tell me that his boss wanted him to go to the Dulles Home Show instead.  Aside from the fact that I took time off of work to accommodate them, I let it slide and we agreed to reschedule to Monday 20 January at 1 pm, since it was a holiday for me and I did not have to take off from work.   They never showed, or called.  I tried calling Arlo 3 times to see what was going on and even called their office to see what was going on and got no response until the owner, Ken, called me 4 hors later to ask if I had heard from Arlo.  Turns out, Arlo had to go to the ER for a serious medical issue that day and called to apologize the following day.  He agreed to come give an estimate after hours a few days later so I did not have to take time off from work again..  Arlo came and was very professional in his estimate and all was forgiven, but you never get a second chance to make a first impression.  The experience left a bad taste in my mouth in that the company appears to lack control over what's going on with their employees.  We'll see how they fare against other bidding competitors.
