Animal Au Paws

Animal au paws is a wonderful dog walking and pet sitting service. They walk my pup for me twice a day. They are always punctual and Britt has established a great relationship with my pup. Animal Au Paws has a great portal at which they post a report on how my pup is doing after every visit. The portal also allows me to communicate messages to Britt and the owner of the business, Rosie. The cost is $16 per 20 minute visit. This is very reasonable IMO.

Rosie, the owner, always responds promptly to requests. Jen, the sitter I have had several times, is reliable and knowledgeable. Jen is the best!

Excellent service! I decided to switch to pet sitting 2X/day vs daily daycare which has saved me a fortune. My dogs seem happier, too. I have a frequently-changing business travel schedule and Animal Au Paws is always responsive and flexible to meet my needs and sometimes on short notice. The daily sitting service is performed by the same wonderful sitter so she has bonded with my dogs and they have bonded with her, which is important to me. When I’m out of town, they also do things like take the garbage out, check the mail and water plants. Can’t recommend them enough!

I guess ok. She was feeding cat , change the water, and clean litter box. I guess it went ok....my kitty didn’t complain.

Jess was awesome with Chloe! She was so happy when I came home and during my trip I got photos of my cat to see how well she was doing!

Great! Our Dog is difficult and we have her going to a trainer....Rose cane over and worked with the trainer to keep all the lessons Snow is being taught going!

It went so well! Our sitter Hazel was responsive and caring. She took amazing care of our cats and checked in with us periodically to let us know that everything was going well. She went above and beyond and got our mail and packages and even washed the dishes in our sink. It was so wonderful to come home and not only see that our cats were well taken care of but that our home was as well. I would recommend Hazel and Au Paw to anyone!

Not only do our dogs always get the care just as we've requested, they quite often receive more/better care. Also, it is great to see the little notes that are left after each visit. Our dogs *love* Rose, their usual pet sitter. As well, we have found that we can count on them in a pinch. Recently, we were delayed in getting home when we planned due to traffic. We easily reached Rose on her cell phone. She was on her way out of town but turned around to take care of our dogs for one more visit. The best!!!

Kitties were content and rambunctious upon our return!

I cannot praise Animal Au Paws highly enough. We have been using their services for nearly two years. They provide our two indoor cats with tender loving care while we are away. Our pet sitter takes great care to confirm appointments in advance, follow any special instructions and leave us written notes on how the visits went. The owner, Rosie, is a pleasure to work with.

We arranged the details with Kim from Animal Au Paws via email, and met with the pet sitter, Will, one evening to go over the routine. I printed out an instruction sheet and checklist of what needed to be done each day. A week later we arrived home one day early from vacation to a nightmare. The cats' food and water bowls were filthy dirty; new food had been heaped on top of the old each day without cleaning the bowl. The water bowls had a film of hair, dust, and bits of old food and cat litter covering about one inch of dirty water. We left seven clean food/water bowls on the kitchen counter. The sitter didn't bother to use any of them. The litter boxes were filthy and overflowing with clumps of urine and feces. I've never seen a cat box that bad, but I'd guess the litter boxes had not been cleaned for at least five days. The cats had resorted to using the basement floor because the boxes were too full of dirt. We immediately contacted Kim from Animal Au Paws. We included pictures of the dirty food and water bowls and filthy litter boxes. Not only did Kim not seem to care, she was defensive and did not address our concerns or provide any explanation or apology. Our concerns were escalated to Rosie, the owner of Animal Au Paws. Rosie said she spoke with Will, the sitter, and Will said he had planned to "clean everything up" the day before we came back home. All that says to me is he knew what he was doing was wrong, but we returned home before he had a chance to cover it up. If we would have not arrived home early from vacation, we may have never known how much our cats suffered due to the complete lack of care provided by Animal Au Paws. Not only were our cats not provided with the most basic needs of clean food, water and a litter box, we don't have any confidence that the medication our elderly cat requires was administered correctly. We'll never know. If the sitter couldn't do the easy things right, I'm betting the difficult things didn't get done correctly either. Last but not least, we did not authorize anyone other than Will to enter our home. Our security camera showed another person accompanied the sitter on four different days. We asked for an explanation of who this person was and if he was an employee of Animal Au Paws, fully vetted and covered by their insurance. Rosie said when she asked Will, he said his father came inside once to help him with the medication. We never received an explanation of what part of the medication he needed help with or why, and we still don’t know who was in our home on the other occasions. We were quite frankly shocked that all of this happened. All I can say is keep security cameras on while you're away and arrive home a few days earlier than expected. We obviously do not recommend Animal Au Paws. We truly believe our pets suffered at their hands. And based on the indifferent way they handled our complaints, I don’t think they care that the animals suffered. The owner did not charge us for this experience, which is appropriate since they did not do what they were hired to do.

Animal Au Paws has always done a terrific job taking care of my cat.  Trish is very personable, takes wonderful care of my cat and is very dependable.  I never worry about how my pet is doing when Trish takes care of her.  She feeds the cat on my schedule, plays with her, and sees to her well being.  I would highly recommend them for pet sitting.

Prompt and professional responses. Thorough assessment of our needs and recommendations. The poetasters Rob & his wife Debbie were professional thorough and sweet!  They completed all services as agreed communicated with us as often as needed. My husband was anxious about doing this and "having people in our home while we were gone". Rob and Debbie  put him at ease very quickly. The dogs warmed up to them quickly and they handled them with ease and comfort.  All our questions were answered appropriately and in a timely manner. We see this as a long term relationship and are looking forward to use their services again. Now we won't hesitate on taking needed vacation time.

The initial contact with Animal Au Paws seemed to have a bit of lag time, but once contact was established things went very smoothly. I talked with Kim and told her our need of about a week of pet sitting for our two 7 month old kittens and shared some details of what we were looking for. She then got in touch with a sitter, Marlana, very local to us, and we set up an initial consultation with her. That went well. Our kittens warmed up to Marlana right away. Instead of handing over two keys to our house, we were able to work out the use of our garage door keypad instead. I like this better since I can create a temporary code for such uses. That way service providers don't have continued access after the service is done. And we also showed Marlana how to disarm/arm our security system.
Before Marlana arrived, we were sent a number of forms to fill out. The service agreement form is rather long and detailed, so I wasn't able to finish it before the initial consultation. I suspect there is normally more time between initial contact and the initial consultation than we experienced. So, I would think in general people probably have plenty of time to fill it all out before the consultation. Anyway, it wasn't a big deal. I was able to finish it, scan it and email it to Kim, and then have the original left out for Marlana to pick up when she came for the first visit.
The week of pet sitting went very well. Sounds like there was some bonding between our kittens and Marlana. We had asked Marlana to text us when she was about to enter the house just in case the security monitoring company would call. That way we would know and could relate to the security company that everything was fine. And that actually did happen, so I'm glad we had set up that little procedure. Other than that  one little thing, the pet sitting went very smoothly. When we got home, we saw that Marlana had written notes to us about each visit. That was nice.
Specifically, what we wanted Marlana to do was feed the kittens their wet food, check and refill as need their dry food and water. clean the litter box, and play with the kittens for a couple of minutes with their favorite toy, the laser pointer. She had offered to water plants as well, so she did that a couple of times, and brought in the mail.
So, we are very pleased with Animal Au Paws. We were going to try out another local pet sitting company on our next trip and compare, but we have already scheduled Animal Au Paws for our next trip. We feel very comfortable with them now.

They have been walking my frenchbulldog since 2008. He loves it! Great service!

The dog walker is extremely reliable and is wonderful with our dog. I can contact her up until 9:00 am to cancel services for the day and not be charged. Initially, she would text me to let me know how things went with our dog. When I text her with information, she quickly responds to my texts. One time, my refrigerator was leaking and she quickly sent me a text to tell me she had put down towels to soak up the water. Also, it's very easy to pay my bill. Twice a month, I'm sent an email and I can pay online. I would highly recommend Animal Au Paws!!

I've used them for 5 times in the past. They're reliable, safe and they take care of our dog. They check our mail and turn on and off lights when we're gone.
