Total Landscape Services

Rob Stynes is a meticulous provider of lawn care services.  He asks good questions to clarify expectations.  His charges are very fair given the size of his work crew and their experience -- they are efficient, get the job done, and will return if interrupted by weather to get the work done.  Rob has been very good at collaborating with us on each phase of the yard work, which has required his expertise before our house was built, during the build process, and now in the landscaping and establishing the green spaces.  We are well satisfied with his delivery of services, and his contribution of ideas.

We LOVE Total Landscaping!! We have used them for about 4-5 years and our lawn looks like golf course lawn and the planters are neat and tidy, which is the job we originally asked for! The crews are polite and efficient and pay attention to detail. They stay on task and are quick to get the job done and move on.

Costs vary depending on the scope of the work but it's always a fair price. Our neighbors are continuously commenting on our how well-manicured our yard is. Our house just recently sold, and I know our beautiful yard certainly added the frosting on the cake. We will be moving to another state and hope we are lucky enough to find a new crew who is as conscientious as TL.

Rob came to our house and gave quotes for sodding the front, back and side of yard. He also gave a quote to seed. Coming to an agreement with Rob on the pricing of seeding we hired Total Landscaping. We have regretted this decision. This company was preparing the ground for seeding by removing the weeds and grating the ground. They added a soil mixture to help level the ground. then they seeded. The problem came when they allowed their truck full of dirt to drive on our cement driveway. Needless to say they cracked it in many places. We refused to pay Total Landscaping for their service until we came to a concusion regarding the driveway. This company should have know that no commercial truck should be driven on a driveway. The truck is too heavy and will crack. This argument went on for nearly 5 months. In the mean time we spoke to Rob about the seeding that wasn't taking place. There were more empty spots with dirt than there were grass. They refused to come out until we paid them. Moral of this story it did go to court 1 year later. This company did get away with their dishonest work. That's the court system for you even though we had pictures showing the poor service on the grass. I will add that their insurance did pay us for the damaged cement driveway but only 1/4 of it. We couldn't agree on a fair price with Total Landscaping this is why it went to court. This company only took off $100.00 for the pricing which we paid $1600.00. I waited this long to report this because I just wanted Total Landscaping to be behind us and never look back. We decided to make a report via Angie List to warn other customers and let them make their own decision knowing of the Dishonest work that Total Landscaping does. We are out $1600.00 plus 3/4 of the cement driveway was never paid for. We have done the seeding ourselves.

We started with sod, and with a lot of work from Total Landscape, my yard looks reasonable. I'm looking forward to how good my lawn will look within a year, since it'll get better. I asked them to put down a specific fertilizer (Scott's), which wasn't a problem for them. They've been attentive to any concerns or issues that I've had and I've recommended them to other people. They'll send me an email to let me know if they're unable to come out on a certain day.

This company was easy to work with from start to finish. Always professional and fair priced. Didn't have to remind them what we needed done. They were always on schedule and went beyond expectations on any service they did.
