Dealing with Layman Brothers has been a nightmare from start to finish. We hired them to install gutters on our new house 08/2017 - never met the salesman, James Rhodes, face-to-face (only spoke with him via telephone). Initially (10/2017) they installed the wrong color gutters (gloss white on a tan house, really?!); Jim Layman himself said, "No one in their right mind would install gloss white gutters on this house." Then they didn't show up the first time they were supposed to correct the issue. We were told our "paperwork must have gotten lost." Several days later they showed up to remove the wrong color gutters and install the correct ones. We had asked prior to first installation that the gutters come out underneath our front porch, so the water wasn't pouring and running along the foundation of the house. This wasn't done until 04/2018. We attempted to get in touch with James and the office for months but never received a return call. After the front porch issue was corrected, which was 2 weeks past when we were told it'd be completed, we had to wait another few days for a splash guard because the employee who fixed the issue "forgot" to bring one. Additionally, the gutter guards were falling off on one side of the house (fixed by Jim Layman himself 04/2018) and on another side of the house damaged gutters were installed (still not corrected). 03/2018 my credit card was charged for full price (surprise!) though we had made arrangements with the office to pay by check; the credit card was kept on file to hold our appointment for installation only. We also never received a final invoice from the office prior to the card being charged. We spoke with the office (Amy Lacy) about a possible discount due to the poor workmanship, lack of timeliness of completion, and other inconveniences experienced during this 6-9 month period. Instead of having a reasonable conversation, she screamed and cursed at me over the phone, then ended up hanging up on me. I would not recommend anyone use this company. I am also aware that a large local contracting company ended their contract with Layman Brothers due to countless issues with their workmanship and service. If customer service, integrity, and good work for your money are important to you, do not use Layman Brothers. Jim Layman was the only person we dealt with who was reasonable. He agreed that we should not have to pay full price and stated "you should get what you pay for." These issues are still not resolved and we are attempting to work through them but are trying to deal with the office as little as possible due to the lack of professionalism exhibited by Amy Lacy.

Great experience with Layman Brothers. They were responsive and professional before and during the installation. Answered all my questions and no pushy sales pitch for upgrades. Came out to the house the day before to verify everything since original estimate had been done several months prior. Crew did not show up the day scheduled, but I received a call beforehand explaining the issue. They showed up the next day as promised and completed everything in a few hours. Very impressed with the quality of installation, particularly around the the back of the house with some 45 degree bends. Price was lower than two other contractors.

The company sent an installer that did not speak English. Not really a problem if one assumes he knows what to do. When the job was complete, we noticed that some shingles had been damaged during installation. My husband got on the roof to inspect the damage and we found the quality of the gutter guard installation shocking. Not only had he screwed the gutter guard into the eaves crooked (if it's not pitched, it won't allow for water to run off away from the house) it was screwed on top of the drip edge in some spots and jammed under it in others. There were no corner pieces installed, gaps between each of the long guard pieces and huge openings on all the exterior corners. Obviously that won't keep the leaves out of the gutters, which was the entire point of this anyway.
We contacted our salesman who told us that the corner miters (that are part of the complete Rhino gutter guard system) are "extra" and weren't included in our price. He did send the same installer out the very next day to make some repairs, and in his defense he did attempt to communicate with us about what he was doing, but we couldn't figure out what he was trying to say. We paid the billed amount for the installation of the gutter guards in full, contacted our salesman again regarding the poor quality of the installation and the damaged shingles, and got no reply. We called and emailed several times, even asking to speak with the Owner of the company. He didn't call us back either. We appealed to our local BBB for assistance, and got no resolution. Layman & Son flatly refused to acknowledge any issues exist (and believe me there are plenty of photos to prove otherwise). We sincerely regret using Layman & Son especially since we're having to pay another company to fix what they did. I would never recommend them to anyone looking for quality workmanship.

Things went poorly. They installed gutters with no slope (or even reverse slope) in many locations, causing lots of water to pool throughout. It took many emails and calls, and two followup visits from workers, to finally have gutters that direct water towards downspouts, albeit with many unnecessary holes in my siding and roof due to removing the poorly installed gutters and diverters from their first try. Worsening the situation was that they took my credit card information at the start of the project, promising to charge me at completion, but instead charged me for the full price of the job before it was complete, and while the installation problems were still uncorrected. The gutters ultimately did get installed correctly for the quoted price, but with many unnecessary headaches.

Contacted Layman via their website and stated that I needed additional insulation in my attic. Mike call me back maybe a day later and arranged to come by and provide a quote. Mike provided 2 quote for different levels and types of insulation. After a quick conversation with Mike I selected an option and asked how quickly the install could take place. He stated they would be back the next afternoon to do the work. The crew arrived on time and was very polite and professional. Mike even stopped by about halfway through the job to see how things were going. I noticed the difference immediately. My heating system is no longer running full bore all night and barely comes on during the day now at all. Definitely worth the money.

We are Realtorsand reg; and rental owners so we deal with contractors on a regular basis.
Jimmie Kraftt showed up on time, measured the house and gave me a price. He is an easy to like guy. No BS in his sales pitch.
The installers showed up as scheduled and had the gutters and guards up in less than half a day. My only issues with the installers are that they left aluminum trim cuts all over the place and pulled out without telling me that they were done. Would have liked to walk the job before they left. Not a big enough issue for us not to use them again.

Did not show up on day scheduled. Did not clean up work area. Did not remove all insulation. Broke my water service line connection. They never did the re-insulation work. Kept breaking the schedule. Gave impression that they take all jobs regardless if they have the man power to do it. Superintendent of the removal work showed up after they broke the water line and was ill equipped to fix it. Salesman was terrible in returning calls. I would definitely ask if they sub this work out or use their own workers as no one seems to know what is going on. One day they showed up at 4pm to start work when the scheduled clearly said it had to be done by 4pm so that I could go to work.

Awesome. Based on the BBB A+ and Angie's list recommendations, I contacted them. They got back to me that day.
Next day they came out, and did the estimate. We scheduled the work and they nailed it.
