"Our amazing installers performed magic on this house built in circa 1946. The before and after pictures we proudly took are amazing! This customer was present during entire installation of her windows and expressed her utter happiness along the way, even buying pizza for the installers and LEAD SAFE crew who vacumed her flower beds and washed her new windows inside and out! We installed the vinyl siding, soffit and trim as designed by manufacturer. We mistakenly added $500.00 worth of soffit to front porch she did not order ! So no Charge added! There were a couple of minor concerns on the siding so we corrected immediatly! I came to collect the Balance Due on entire project and no one would answer the door or return phone calls for (7) months so I had to hire an attorney and take her to court! I cant believe someone can be so mean spirited! This house looks like a brand new house!!!"
Was promised a 30 day turnaround and put on the "Priority List". Told them this was only reason I was going to go with them.
Was given excuse after excuse and they did not fulfill their word. I even asked when I had to order by to ensure it would be done by thanksgiving. If you can't or "may not" make the deadline...you should disclose that.
They just argued the contract said 45 days, but that does not give you the right to blatantly lie to customers.
Asked for my brand new kitchen window back and never received it.
They used my boarded up gate without permission and let my dog out who was lost for days and cost my over $500 in vet bills when we finally got hold of her again. They assumed no responsibility and claimed I there was no sign of a dog after he met my dog twice and we even talked about dogs.
They even claimed I lied about needing it done by thankgiving because I had contruction going on in the house. I had only the living room and 1 gutted bathroom (2 bathrooms were done!), but regardless our family still stayed with us because thanksgiving dinner was not at our house. I should not have to explain this to them regardless. Whether I had family or not does not change the detaills of our "verbal contract".
This family business is very unprofessional and I highly recommend you avoid them at all costs.

- During the week of May 27, 2013, I acquired three estimates for window replacement with Window King of America and two other companies, two providing the same estimate. I decided to go with Window King of America and on 6/4/13 I contracted them and on 6/4/13 I signed a contract for the work to performed. One of those reasons I went with Window King was once the window order was received and they started work they could do the whole house in two days.
On 6/25/13 I was called and told the windows were in and Window King would start work on Monday 7/1/13.
- On 7/1/13 I the installersarrived at 10:30 AM with a truck load of windows and immediately started with the windows on the front of the house and completed installing three double sets (six windows) by 3:00 PM which is the time they quit work and left saying they would return tomorrow (7/2/13).
From the outside the new windows looked great. From the inside awful. Two of the window had not been properly set to accommodate the 2 1/2and quot; window blind brackets. On one end the bracket protruded 1/2and quot; from the wall and the other end was recessed 1/4and quot;. All window were going to require a small bead of caulking which I understood but two of the window had an excessive amount caulking along the side. A one inch wide bead of caulking was used to fill the gap. After measuring the window width of the window that was installed to the window opening I found the window was to small for the opening. The other windows measured OK but still had a lot of caulking considering it was only there for comedic purposes.
7/2/13 the installers arrived at 10:00 AM and I asked the lead guy about the windows that were smaller than the opening, the blind brackets not fitting and the excessive caulking. On one window the cualking was one inch wide. He said he was just the installer he did not order the windows. I told him it was obvious the window was to small so why did he install it. He had no answer. I told him until these issues were resolved no other work could continue. They contacted the owner (Lee Boyd) and the one who made all the measurements for the window order who then called me. He tried to convince me they everything was OK and these windows had a lifetime warranty. So not irrelevant. I told him he needed to come see the problems and get the problems resolved before any further work could continue.
7/2/13 Lee Boyd arrived at about noon and I showed him the various problems I encountered. He measured the undersized window and opening over and over again while continually trying to convince me what was done was OK, what great windows they were and they had a lifetime warranty. His excuse for the Blind brackets not fitting was the wall was crooked. My question was, the blind brackets fit with the old windows and now they don't and its because two of the windows are to small for the opening and are pushed in to far. Lee Boyd reluctantly admitted the windows were to small and he would have to reorder new ones and continually reminding me that he was going to have to eat this cost. They would call me when the new windows came in to set up a time for the reinstall.
7/3/13 Installers arrived at 11:20 AM and said they were late because they had to stop and get the trim for the windows. What they has was wood 1/2 quarter round. I told them it was suppose to be vinyl and was told that Lowes didn't sell vinyl trim. I asked why the didn't go to Home Depot and they said that Lee only had credit at Lowes. I told them that I knew that Lowes had and sells vinyl trim because I've purchased there before. In an effort to try and get this gob done I agreed to the wood trim. After windows were being installed and the trim could start being installed the installed asked me if I had a miter-saw he could use because they didn't have a saw (I think there's a Jim Carrie movie about these guys). I did have a compound miter-saw and let them get it out of my work shed to use. They worked until about 6:30 PM. I was then told they would not return until 7/15/13 because they were going on vacation.
7/4/13 I went outside to our back yard and there sits my $350 compound miter-saw in the middle of the yard covered with morning dew. Shows just how considerate and grateful these guys were.
7/15/13 received call from Window King to let me know the installers would not be there because they had another job commitment but would return on 7/17/13
7/17/13 installers arrived 10:30 AM to complete all the windows except the two that had to be reordered.
7/26/13 received call from Window King to let me know the two replacement windows had come in and 7/30/13 date was set for the reinstall.
7/30/13 Installers arrived at 10:00 AM, removed and replaced undersized windows. They still had no saw to cut trim so he cut it with a knife. Very professional. At some point they finished, packed up and left unanounced. The install looked OK until Ii went outside and saw the drip cap at the top of the window had not been cut properly and they tried to hide the mistake by filling the gapping voids with caulking.
7/31/13 I called Window King and told them about the problem. They said they would reschedule the installers to return to correct the problem but they did'nt know when they could return. I told them since the repair was outside I did'nt need to be there, just come fix it.
Appearently sometime during the last week of August the installers did come unannounced and replace the subject drip cap. The installers never called, left a message or a note informing me the work was done. Window King never called until Lee Boyd calls me on 9/21/13 on Saturday, 7:00 PM while my wife and I are eating dinner in a resturant to tell me the work had been completed over two weeks ago and that I needed to send him the balance of what I owed.
If Lee Boyd was in such a hurry for the balance of the contract he should have not waited for over three weeks to let me know the work was completed and then to call me on saturday night like he did says alot about what kind of guy he is.
I have a lot of neighbors whose houses were built during the same time frame as ours and they all are needing new windows. I've already prepaired a flyer to distribute throuhout my neighborhood about Window King. If he ran his business properly he would already been paid.
The windows seem to be well made. Ours measure approximately 4 feet wide by six feet tall - quite large. They are a bit stiff to open and close since they are new, however they don't appear to be flimsy. During installation, I did notice the absence of shims between windows and side walls. The gaps varied in width but I did expect to see and quot;someand quot; shims in the wider places but none were used.
The two man crew seemed to function well together each handling his own area efficiently. The porch and yard were cleaned up following the work each day which speaks well of the company.
