Description of Work: My Whirlpool washing machine did not operate. This machine is in a rental property. Checked wall receptacle, worked fine. After researching, discovered the lid switch probably needed to be replaced; very common problem. The lid switch stops the washing machine from any type of movement/agitation when you open the lid. This is a safety mechanism installed by the manufacturer. Contacted Baker Appliance Service since he'd sold a used refrigerator to my daughter recently. Discussed replacing lid switch. *Repaired* in a timely manner, HOWEVER, recently went to rental home to check washer and lid switch was *DISABLED* not replaced as agreed upon. Mr Baker contacted me when leaving rental to pick up check - I was told the washing machine was fixed and it would cost $70. Update: Contacted Mr Baker about repairing lid switch properly and was told it would cost $35.00 for the part needed. I was told it's perfectly fine to have a washing machine that doesn't have the safety switch. This washer is located in a rental home and this is not acceptable to me, especially if there are small children living in the home. This is a safety hazard or the company wouldn't have installed them on the machines in the first place. ALSO, daughter's refrigerator STILL isn't working. Mr Baker repairs appliances and sells them out of his garage on Craigslist. Mr Baker guaranteed refrigerator for 30 days and made 2 trips to *fix* but still isn't working. Was told the doors need adjusting. Tried adjusted doors, but still not working correctly. Price paid: $295.00 + $70.00 to *non-repair* of washing machine.
