WORST CONTRACTOR EVER!! He told me the siding would take a week to do and it took almost 2 months. Most of the time he didn't show up until between 10-10:30, went to lunch by noon and left my property between 2:30--3pm. The closing of a refinance on my home was contingent upon him completing the work as the loan company wouldn't approve the close. They were specific that certain improvements had to be made and instead of completing the job on time, he would just keep saying "that's stupid, they cant do that". Well, they can and they did. So two months later when I had to shell out an extra two thousand dollars that I would not have had to spend if it wasn't for the delayed closing, he was ticked off when he had to wait 5 days to get paid. After all of that, I was dumb enough go through with letting him install the windows. He made me feel so bad for needing 5 days to provide the final payment (he already had half) that I didn't want to take the job away from him. In december 2011, I gave him $2000 to purchase the windows and I would owe him $1000 at the completion of the install. In MAY 2012, he STILL had not come to install my windows. Multiple irritated phone calls later, he showed up. On the first day he installed one window and he didn't even finish it all the way. I had a gaping hole that I could put my fingers through and touch the outside of my house from the inside. a month later, he sent someone else who finished the one window he started and also installed 5 more windows which completed all the windows on the front of my home. That was the last time anyone showed up at my home for almost a year. Constant empty promises were given and he would say "next week" all the time. He never showed. When I called and asked for the windows that I purchased to be delivered to my home, he told me NO and said that given the work that was done, we were "even" and if I wanted the windows, I would have to pay the remaining $1000. So, he wanted the full $3000 for installation of 5 windows where NONE of the trim had been wrapped on the windows (this was supposed to be included) so none of the windows were truly completed....yet he wanted full payment. I refused and pointed out how much work (13 total windows) was left to be done. In March 2013 he apparently showed up while I was gone for two days straight yet never called to tell me he was coming. All the wrapping was completed but that's all since he couldn't access inside my home (as I had no warming he was coming). I still have yet for him to return a phone call and I've left 3 messages. I will be contacting someone else to install the remaining windows. Additionally, in under two years, pieces of my vinyl porch railings are falling down (molding at the top), the porch railings were placed in a whole new place instead of putting them exactly where the wooden railings were originally so my front porch lost space. Also, vinyl siding is falling OFF of my home because it was put on incorrectly. Whatever you do...do NOT use this contractor. He's HORRIBLE
Description of Work: I contracted this provider to do a number of things on my home starting in October 2011 after a tree fell on my home. I had him install vinyl siding, new vinyl porch railings on side and front porches, level my back porch, and install windows

Initially, I asked for a quote to do ALL the renovations I need for this house. (Paint, floor refinish...). Since I did not know this man, I asked him to do just a few things first to see his work. His work in every area was shoddy. When he was called to come back out, he would always have an excuse for why he didn't make it or was late. I had to pay to have the tile reset on the kitchen floor. the counter top had to be reinstalled since it didn't allow enough room for the Range. The ice maker water line leaked into the crawl space. The toilet holder came out of the wall. And on, and on, and on, and on.
Description of Work: Ceramic tile in the kitchen and bathroom Ceramic tub surround Install GFCI outlets Install Ice Maker water line Install new vanity Install new hot and cold water fixtures Install Medicine Cabinet Install Faux kitchen counter tops and sink Install Electrical box for microwave

Wally was eager to get the "whole job" and I was willing to listen to his proposal. However, having not used him before (he was recommended by the HVAC contractor), I only gave him the bathroom to remodel and the floor installation in the Kitchen. Here is a number to remember.... He quoted me $8500 for all the work I needed in the house which included refininishing 750 sq ft of hardwood floors, the kitchen remodel, new baseboad moldings, and painting 1000 sq ft of house amongst other things. We settled on $4400 to do the Kitchen floor tile and the bathroom remodel with ceramic, new vanity, new toilet and fixtures and paint. He was available immediately and I needed to get going. He worked in a timely fashion. He demoed the old tile. His floor tile was pretty good. New green board was installed. The tub surround tile was just okay as the end tiles that come out to meet the wall that has the shower head on it were inconsistent and some stuck out past the drywall while others were not quite to the edge. VERY NOTICEABLE and avoidable. ALL THE OLD WALL TILE WAS LEFT IN BAGS IN THE DEN AND I HAD TO TAKE THEM TO THE DUMP AT MY EXPENSE! After the tile was laid in the kitchen, his wife gave birth and I lost three days. He grouted the kitchen tile and several of the tiles cracked from not having been set correctly. He is not a detail -oriented perfectionist so if that is what you are looking for..... as of this writing the tiles have not been replaced with grout. The kitchen countertop was beautiful but he did not leave enough room for a stove to be set in and had to come back and recut it as the range stood in the center of the kitchen floor. I lost a week while he got around to fixing this problem. The microwave needs a electrical junction box to plug into. I still do not have it and it's been three weeks. The new plumbing he install with the new sink leaked today. Badly. He did not install the front botom plate to the dishwasher. He told me he was going to install the Microwave and then said that he didn't tell me. The pantry was very well done. Every time I try to call him I either get voicemail or an excuse about the truck breaking down, how somwone else stole the extra 5 gallons of paint, how he is going to get right on it today and today never comes. He has been paid so he is not eager to make good on his promises and repair his mistakes.
