Well, I'm glad you asked!  They don't serve designer coffees and doughnuts and hide the cost in your bill, like some other shops I've heard of.  They do let you buy and bring your own parts, without charging a higher rate per hour for your repairs. They also bill for the actual time of the repairs, not what the estimated time should be based on some unknown manual.  Pat, the front desk person is professional, personable, and considerate. The guys in the shop work with you as if they have known you for years, even on your first visit.
  I had a cooling problem due to an especially cold night on the Thursday before my visit. The coolant in the radiator and engine had frozen over night, and without knowing this, I drove it to work the next day (Friday). It ran fine going to work (just a mile from home), but on the way home, a cloud of steam plumed from under the hood just a quarter mile from home. When I got it home and checked under the hood, I found a fried water pump belt and two mangled pulleys. I called Pat at Ronnie's Auto and made an appointment for Monday morning, and went on line for parts. I bought the replacement parts and a gallon of antifreeze over the weekend and dropped the car at the shop on Monday morning. During the process of making the repairs, the mechanic found that the freeze plug was also damaged.....well.....gone, and called me to tell me that some of what he had done would have to be un-done to replace the freeze plug. I ran to find a replacement freeze plug and dropped it off at the shop. The guys there still managed to complete the work by  closing on the same day and I was only charged for two hours labor!
I love the people at this place and frequently referr people to them. It's rare these days to find a competent and professional auto shop with the character and honesty of Ronnie's Automotive Services.
