Judy, her husband, and team are great to work with.  Punctual, professional, and friendly.  We've used them for light tree trimming and leaf removal and plan to use their other offer services, power washing, mowing, mulching, etc. in the future.  They do excellent work with attention to detail at very reasonable prices.

It went very well. I got my money's worth.

They did excellent work, however getting in contact with them was a problem. Once I got them there, they did an excellent job. I would not use them again.

Prompt with callback and scheduling. Did excellent job with removing leaves, which was a real chore because of the ones that were in the ditch, which were wet. They hauled all of them off. We were very pleased with the work and with the professionalism of this company. We will definitely hire them again in the spring to do landscaping in our back yard.

I tried to have my leaves raked in November. The week before Thanksgiving they said they had had a death in the family. I allowed for rescheduling and asked for contact after Thanksgiving. 2 Weeks after Thanksgiving, they did not call. I had to call them. Scheduled for mulch spreading today at 1.00 I called at 1. no response. Then at 2 and again at 3. No response until 4:30. I told them I was going to tell Angie's List I wanted a refund.

Very pleasant folks.! "Bought" services through Angie's List..  Contacted them promptly. They had a family death I think and the service date was changed (no problem). The only surprise was that there was a charge ($40.00) for removal of the leaves over and above what was paid through Angie's List.

It was an all out great experience.

D&J were at our house to do estimate for yard work the day after i called.  Work was completed exactly as requested a few days later.  The crew was thorough and efficient and we plan to call on them again for future home projects.  Would definitely recommend them.

Contacted Judy of D & J Affordable Services to get me caught up on my plan to have the yard prepared for Spring. We spoke on the phone and she was very professional and knowledgeable regarding what they were doing. They came out as scheduled to perform the aeration, seeding and fertilizing, unfortunately, just as it started to rain. i would have expected them to re-schedule, but they went ahead and completed the tasks; good for the grass, uncomfortable for the workers..and I appreciated it ! My plan was to do the work in September, but before I knew it, October was here. D & J Affordable Services got the job done, did a great job and I didn't even have to be here to check on them.

The man who provide service for my lawn stopped doing lawn work at the beginning of August of this year.  I needed someone who would mow my relatively small front lawn, edge the sidewalk and tidy up by blowing clippings, etc., away from the front door, side walk, driveway and street.  I found D&J Affordable Services on Angie's List.  Judy promptly returned my call, stopped by and gave me an an estimate that was in line with what I've been paying for the last few years.  The lawn was scheduled the same week and and every other Thursday thereafter.   Judy calls on Wednesday to let me know they will be mowing the next day.  I've been very pleased with the service provided and will use them for other yard work that needs to be done this fall.

Everything has been lovely so far.  Judy is a pleasure to work with and very professional.  They did such a great job, that I am having them cut my grass every 2 weeks.  I am looking foward to getting a price for the rest of the landscaping.

We initially called and left a message.  Judy called back promptly and was so helpful on the phone.  She took all of our information and called me with a date they could come and complete the job. They arrived early on Saturday morning and worked all day, not leaving until the yard was absolutely perfect. We stood on our deck in the pouring rain admiring their handiwork!  They are true professionals and we could not be happier with the work they did. Dave and Judy work well as a team and we will surely use them again!

This year we had a new baby and a demanding new job. Needless to say, our yard has taken a backseat to life and was completely out of control. We were the embarrassing house on the block. Out of desperation, I did a search on Angie's List and liked what I was reading about D&J. We were only interested in occasional service when needed.
I called them on a Monday hoping they would be able to come out that week. Judy got back to me a few hours later and we tentatively scheduled service for Thursday or Friday. I heard from her on Thursday that they would be in our area on Friday... however, by about 4 p.m., it had started storming. It wasn't anyone's fault (except maybe Mother Nature).
In the meantime, we mowed that weekend, and they offered to come by the house the following week to give us an estimate in case we ever needed their services in the future. Their price was so reasonable that we decided to schedule a service. They came out yesterday and did a fantastic job! It took 3 people just under 45 minutes to tame our wild yard (which is .35 acres - pretty small). I'd imagine the next time they come it won't even take that long since it won't be as out of control. Their work was so thorough and neat, that our yard has actually never looked better! 
I especially appreciate the communication from Judy via phone and texting - it is really helpful to know when to expect them. Over all excellent work, very affordable pricing, and I look forward to working with them often in the future!

Very efficient and used time wisely. It was very, very hot that day and I was amazed at their stamina.

....Judy called me right away, after months of effort seeking to locate someone in my area who would/could do competent job on an out of control lawn and messy bushes and shrubs.  Then the terrible storms came! ...She kept in close touch with me as the storms raged, and, literally, between rain drops ...got the job done -- to the point of perfection.  My yard has not looked this good in quite a while -- and the price was very reasonable!  We are now in the process of planning our future work....that goes beyond just yard work, and will include some home repair work. I am an an extremely pleased customer.  Kudos to Judy and David!

Overall, D & J did a great job, were reliable and pleasant to deal with.  I'm sorry I didn't know about them six months ago. If I were staying in Richmond, I'd certainly use them as my regular yard service.

They were exactly what they advertised to be!

i liked having proposals upfront. The proposal clearly stated the scope of work and the cost for each job. The work was then performed meticulously and they took as long as they needed to get the job done completely. I am very pleased and look forward to the maintenance work we have agreed on for the future.

On VERY short notice, this company was wonderful to work with. I called Judy at 7:45am Saturday morning, but did not leave a message.  She called back about 10 minutes later to check in and see if I needed something.  We were in a pinch and just moved into a house and needed the yard cut that SAME DAY.  Judy was able to accomodate us, and was at our house within about 2 hours and did a great job. On the phone, she guessed the cost would be between 30-50 based on the size of our lot.  She was right on and the cost was 40.00.  That was completely reasonable given the quality and short notice that they had.  The process was so smooth and quick.   We will definitely use them again if needed!
